Smooth S shape sex toy review

The size and the natural friction of this toy help it stay in place. I don't have to worry about angling it just so to hit the right spot. With just a few pumps, I was in heaven. I came so hard that I gushed without any clitoral stimulation.

useful review
I am still shaking from my last round with the Smooth S Shape dildo by Nob Essence. Seriously. Can ‘Oh MY God!’ say it all? Um, I really think it does.

I almost don’t even know where to begin, quite honestly. So I will try to start from the beginning. If you don’t believe in love at first sight, you might want to reconsider that notion. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this baby. In fact, I was intrigued from the first moment I read the description, “This item is recommended for advanced users due to the girth of the large end.” I wanted to know just how big that large end was. Let’s face it, I am blonde, and measurements on the property descriptions don’t help me much. I have a hard time visualizing size. And, real wood??! Are you kidding me?! That is so hot! And, you must know by now that I am an aesthetic snob. This baby looked downright beautiful on the website. The Smooth S didn’t disappoint at all. It is far more beautiful in person, and that large end? Oh, boy is that large. Now, I am a small girl, so that large end is roughly the same size as my fist. Hell yeah! Totally hot! See, I was already in love.

I have other “luxury” sex toys made of glass and steel, so I was curious as to how the wood would compare. Surely, it would be lighter, and it was. It is probably the lightest toy that I own. This concerned me at first. After all, it is the weight of the glass and the steel that gives an added sensation unlike any other. I would soon discover that the weight was not necessary. Also, because the toy is made of real wood, it has a unique appearance. The ends are rounded and smooth, but they are not perfectly symmetrical. I love that it is beautiful AND a one of a kind.

First, it is important to note that the finish on the wood is smooth and non-porous (read: easy to clean and okay for anal play…if you can take the size). It has a natural friction that is really pleasant, but it does not get slick as other materials might. If you are not completely wet when beginning play, it could be difficult to use the Smooth S. However, it can accept any lube. There are no worries about compatibility…just use your favorite, and plenty of it.

Secondly, I would love to meet the person that designed this toy and give them a big fat hug and kiss because they are a genius. The curve of the toy is absolutely perfect. I have used similarly shaped toys in the past. They often rely on weight to help provide extra stimulation, and I find that I am fighting to keep the curve in the right position to stimulate my g-spot. The size and the natural friction of this toy help it stay in place. I don’t have to worry about angling it just so to hit the right spot. With just a few pumps, I was in heaven. I came so hard that I gushed without any clitoral stimulation. In fact, I had several gut wrenching orgasms within just a few minutes. (Oh, and I am not one of those easily pleased women. I take a bit of time to cum usually, so this was unheard of).

After several gushing orgasms, I decided to try out the larger end. As the description says, it is really for advanced users. It gave me a very full sensation, which I love. With plenty of my own wetness and being relaxed from several orgasms, it still took me a bit of work to get it fully inside. Once in, it also was curved enough to stimulate my g-spot. It will be a nice warm up to a fisting session.

I give the Smooth S five stars for beauty, ease of clean up and mind blowing pleasure. It is my new best friend!!
Follow-up commentary
This dildo has become a staple in solo and partner play for me. There is just something about the way the smaller ball hits my g-spot that just makes me melt every time.

Perfection!

Megan-Have you tried the Pure wand??? If so how does it stack up?

Yes, I have tried the pure wand. In my personal opinion, this is better. I will qualify that though. First, I like that the wood gives a bit of friction naturally. Also, it is lighter. I fought that at times the weight of the wand could make it unweildy and hard to keep in just the right place if there was a lot of natural lubrication. However, there are times that you want the added weight and a smoother texture for faster play. I love them both, but this one remains my favorite.

Is it easy to grip the larger end when you're using the small end inside you? It looks like there's nothing to grip.

Sienna,

Yes, the larger end fits perfectly inside of your hand. I do have small hands, but the curve of the larger end helps my fingers wrap around securely. In addition, its light weight and natural friction (but not too much) ensures that you do not have to muscle it around. The lightest grip is sufficient.

When using the larger end, your finger can sort of hook around the ball of the small end to help you move it freely.

  • Wooden Toys, what's the allure?
    • Hi there folks!

I was browsing through the dildo section after reading a couple forum posts about people trying to pick between dildos, including some wooden dildos in their choices. I'm kind of wondering what the allure for wooden dildos are?

I can appreciate the artistic value of them, like the "Smooth S Shape", but practical application seems sketchy. I don't care how well made a wooden object is, how well varnished or polished or whatever, it's going to have health and safety issues over time I'd think. Lubricants and body fluids would seep in eventually right? And cleaning, and sterilizing on occasion, would also break down the surface of the toy and lead to splinters and hidey nooks for bacteria I'd think? So why buy them if you want a toy for actual use? If you want a hard, non vibrating toy, why not go for glass or steel?
    • I love wood toys, though I also own glass and metal toys. Here's my reasoning.

      1) They're beautiful! They're silky smooth, curvy, and sensual. That's appealing to me and, often, arousing.

      2) They're lightweight, especially compared to the heft of glass and metal.

      3) They feel more warm and familiar to me, as opposed to the cold sterility of glass and metal.

      4) They're environmentally- and body-friendly. Wooden toys are often sustainably-farmed, chemical-free, and all-natural.

I'd also like to debunk your concerns about splinters and "hidey nooks".

The wooden toys I own are all by NobEssence, so I can't say that I know much about other brands, but I can certainly vouch for NobEssence. Their products are sanded and polished totally smooth and utterly flawless. They use a state-of-the-art sealant that is bio-compatible, hypoallergenic, and completely waterproof, "[stemming] from years of meticulous research and development and meet USP Class IV and VI Medical Standards. According to NobEssence, "when carved wood comes into contact with moisture, it absorbs those fluids and becomes rough, bumpy and even splintery. Most wood sealants considered ‘food safe’ will break down or dissolve over time, so we spent a long time searching for a sealant to make our wood waterproof and body safe."

You should be careful not to damage the surface by dropping it or knocking it against other hard surfaces. You shouldn't boil it or expose it to high temperatures in a dishwasher, but you can wash it with warm water and non-abrasive soap, soak it for ten minutes in a 10% bleach solution, or wipe it down with anti-bacterial/microbi al cleaner, such as alcohol, bleach, peroxide, etc. If you do suspect the toy has been damaged, you can test the integrity of the finish by "immersing it in water for a few seconds and removing to inspect. If the area in question darkens in response to water AND when wiped remains damp when the surrounding area is dry", then you have damage.

In short, if you follow directions and take proper care of your toy, you shouldn't encounter any problems. The philosophy with wood toys is the same as with glass. If you notice that your glass toy has a chip or a crack, you should no longer use it. The same goes for wood toys. Over time, nearly any material or item may have health and safety issues. It's a matter of risk management and taking good care of your toys.

And there you have it! :)
    • Being able to say "why yes, I've got wood" (sorry couldn't resist)

  • Nob Essence - Out of stock leads to discontinued????
    • Hey - I was really sad when the "Dual Use S Shape" (link) went out of stock and then went discontinued. I was saving for it.

But I made my piece and decided to lust after the "Smooth S shape" (link) instead.

But its been out of stock for what feel like forever - is it destined to flip over to discontinued? I really hope not and I have saved enough to buy it and I am just waiting and waiting and waiting and hoping.... :)
    • Oh gosh, I really, really hope not! I was hoping to get this! (Eventually, once I've saved up quite a chunk of change!).
    • For this (and pretty much all stock questions) I'd submit a support ticket. Customer service can get you a much more definitive answer than anybody just browsing the forums can :)

Are you not worried aboutsplinters from wooden toys?
    • Honestly, not really, even tho I freely confess to not owning any wooden toys at this current moment. I'm sure wooden toy owners can phrase it better than I can, but really any wooden toy that comes from a legit manufacturer will have a finish to it that shouldn't wear off, or has been polished to a point that the only way to end up with splinters is to damage it in some way. :)
    • i would for shure use a condom with a woooden toy.. but i dont think i would use a wooden toy they seem boring and way to hard.. but i guess at some point i can try
