The 10 Function Clitoral Hummer by California Exotics is perfect for beginners and those who enjoy very rumbly clitoral stimulation. It's marketed as a clitoral stimulator, but it can be used to stimulate other external erogenous zones as well. The clitoral hummer can also be use vaginally if so desired by more adventurous users. I would not recommend this for anal use because it lacks a flared base and there are many items out there that would probably be much more enjoyable for P-spot stimulation.
It’s waterproof and can be enjoyed in the bath or shower. This toy is simple to use and easy to clean. The price point is great for anyone who is on a budget or for those who are experimenting and aren’t ready to buy a high end toy.

The Clitoral Hummer is made from a velvety PU coated plastic; the finish is very nice and smooth and glides over the skin with ease. There is absolutely no drag on this material but if you feel the need to use a lubricant this toy should be fine with both water- and silicone-based lubes. Being made out of plastic this toy is totally rigid and has no give whatsoever.
PU coat plastic is relatively non-porous and body safe and should not harbor any harmful bacteria with proper cleaning. I have not noticed any taste or smell to this toy either.

This toy is about 7.5 inches long and has a diameter of 1 and ¼ inches. When this toy arrived the first thing that came to mind is that it’s rather large for being just a clitoral stimulator.
The shaft has a rippled shape and located at the top is a cup that is designed to be placed directly on the clitoris. This cup is 1.5 inches tall and ¾ of an inch wide. On the very tip on the opposite side of the cup is a nub that is designed the give pin-point vibrations.

This toy is powered by 2 AA batteries that are housed in the shaft of the toy and are accessible by a screw cap at the very bottom of the toy. The vibration is controlled by a single push-button in the middle of the cap.
I’m impressed with this toy because it has 10 vibrating functions and some of these patterns are rather unique.
To turn the toy on just press the button once and it will start right up. If you keep pushing the button you’ll start to cycle through all the patterns.

I’ll try to describe the patterns as best I can:

1. Constant Low
2. Constant medium
3. Constant high
4. Short pulses
5. Alternating long and short pulse
6. Long pulse and 2 short pulses
7. 5 short pulses building from low to high
8. Low rolling pulses to medium rolling pulses to high rolling pulses, each with two pulses in between
9. Two low pulses, then a rolling pulse from low to high, then 2 high pulses and then rolling pulses all the way back down to low
10. Three longer high pulse followed by rolling pulses from low to high

Whew! Once you get through all the patterns if you keep pushing the button the toy will not turn off but start back at the beginning and cycle through all the patterns again. To turn this toy off at any time you just need to hold the button down for about 4 seconds.

This toy does have a memory chip so the next time you turn it on it will remember the last setting you were using and start up right where you left off. This memory function only works if you do not open the battery compartment because that breaks the circuit and resets the chip.

Cleaning the Clitoral Hummer is super easy because it’s waterproof and does not have any strange seams or texture. I just take mine to the sink and spray it with toy cleaner and rinse it off. You can also use soap and water or toy wipes if you prefer.

The packaging is very simple. The toy comes in a simple clear plastic shell that is not sealed and shows the entire toy. There is a slip of glossy card stock in with the toy that boasts the functions along with the bar code and company info. Because of this I would not call the packaging discreet in any way. When opening the twist cap on the toy I did find a little slip of paper that shows how to insert the batteries but there really aren’t any instructions anywhere, because this toy is so simple they’re really not needed.

The vibrations are definitely low-pitched and rumbly. When you turn on the toy at the lowest vibration setting the vibrations are like a low idle and rather weak; I didn't really feel much. I usually need to start at the medium or sometimes even the high setting. The vibrations do feel a bit weaker to me, but I do like the pulsing settings which do feel a little more stimulating.

The clitoral cup is kind of fun to use, it provides broader stimulation and it stays in place against you rather easily. I prefer to turn the head and use the side of the head or the nub on the end for more pin-point stimulation.

The motor seems to be located between the middle and the head of the toy and it will heat up during prolonged use. It doesn’t get hot enough to burn you but it’s definitely noticeable. If it gets too hot the toy will just shut off; it can be turned right back on but will keep shutting off as long as it’s not allowed to cool down a little. I noticed when the toy turns off like this that it also resets the memory chip.

To cool the toy down faster I've tried taking out the batteries which were also very warm and I lightly blew down the inner core of the toy. This helped a little but it’s still best to give the toy a break.

I need a lot of pressure and strong vibration to reach an orgasm and the hummer wasn't quite able to cut it for me. I do like rigid toys so I decided to try this vaginally to see if I had any better results. This toy isn't really that thick so it was very easy to insert and I didn’t experience any difficulty or discomfort. I turned the toy so that the nub was facing forward and would stimulate my G-spot, which I think it did a little bit but I was not able to get intense stimulation. Out of all the vibration settings the pulse settings felt the best internally and they kind of mimicked a light throbbing feeling.

All in all this isn't a bad toy, especially for the price, but it’s not my favorite and doesn’t really get much use.
