Body and Soul Desire by California Exotics, is a slim, traditional vibrator with 10 different vibration patterns. It's slim enough that it's very beginner friendly, but the vibration patterns make it a great toy, no matter how advanced you are.

This vibrator can be used on the nipples, clitoris, vaginally, and around the outside of the anus and perineum. This toy isn't limited to females, as this vibe is pleasurable on the testicles and shaft of the penis as well. Because this toy doesn't have a flared base, it's not recommended that you use this toy for anal play, so please avoid an embarrassing trip to the ER by not sticking it in your butt!

Desire is waterproof, so enjoying this vibrator in the tub or shower is totally fine, just make sure that the cap is closed tightly to prevent water from leaking into the battery compartment. It's lightweight and travel friendly as well. It can be tucked easily into a medium sized purse or backpack, but be aware, if someone sees it, they will know what it's for. Great for solo play or for use with a partner.

Due to it's slim design, size queens would be highly disappointed, but someone who's not used to penetration or prefers smaller toys should find this to be just right.

Desire is made from ABS plastic with a PU coat, which is hypo-allergenic, non-porous, latex, and phthalate free and rates a 7/10 on the Eden material safety scale. The PU coat makes the toy very silky smooth to the touch and it glides across your skin without any drag to it.

There was no smell or taste when I took the vibe out of the package, and I don't notice one now either. Desire has no texture to it. It's totally smooth throughout the whole toy, there isn't even a seam to be seen.

Since this is made from plastic, it's totally hard and has no give to it.

People who are sensitive to texture will appreciate this toy, but if you're used to some, you might find this toy to be a little bit boring.

This vibrator comes in four different colors; purple, blue, pink, and black, which all have a nice iridescent shine to them. The color is truly beautiful on these pieces! On the battery cap, there's a nice silver accent piece, and the button on the cap is the same color as the toy.


Desire is a very simple toy. It's completely straight with a rounded tip and has no bend that would target your g-spot; it's truly a toy for someone who hasn't had a lot of experience, or knows that they like thin, straight toys.


If someone were to see it, they would know what it's for, so it's not discreet in that sense, but because it's not a large toy, it is much easier to hide and store, as well as take along with you while you travel.

Desire takes 2 AAA batteries that are not included with this toy. You simply untwist the cap at the bottom of the toy, put your batteries in, and screw the cap back on.


(Inside of my battery compartment there was this paper that looked all wadded up. I could see that it had an image of a battery on it, but it didn't look right to me, so I removed it. The paper is there for a reason, even if it doesn't look nicely placed in there. It's much harder to take out the batteries if you remove the paper, though the toy still functions just fine.)

This vibrator has 10 different vibration functions that can be cycled through by pressing the single push button on the battery cap. Hold the button down for 3 seconds to turn on. You start on the first function and each click from there takes you to the next function, and will continue to cycle through no matter how many times you press it. To turn off the toy, you must hold down the button for 3 seconds. When you turn it back on, it starts back over at function 1, it does not hold your place.

The power behind Desire would satisfy many users. The vibrations are much more focused on the insertable end, but can be felt throughout the whole toy, leaving your fingers tingling slightly. It's on the more powerful end of buzzy, but I wouldn't call it rumbly and though it's better than a lot of the smaller, inexpensive vibes I've tried, it's nothing to brag about. Power queens will be unsatisfied, but more sensitive users will probably find this to be quite nice.

It's also on the quieter side. When used internally it can barely be heard from under the covers, even on the highest setting, but when used externally it was heard, but not through a closed door.

Also, when you open the cap, you'll see that there's a small, band around the base of your vibe. This is what makes the toy waterproof. Don't remove this piece or you won't be able to use this in the tub or shower.

PU coated plastic is very easy to care for and can be cleaned with warm water and soap or your favorite toy cleaner. Always make sure that your toy is fully dry before storing it and your batteries are removed.

Because there's no worry about this material having a poor reaction to another, it's very easy to store! You don't have to worry about a special pouch unless you want one. It can be put in your toy box, nightstand, dresser drawer, etc.

This vibrator is compatible with both water based and silicone based lubricants.

Body and Soul Desire comes in a thin cardboard box that looks like it belongs on a peg hook. The front of the box has a full color image of the toy that's inside, along with the name of the toy and company name. One side of the box also contains a full image of the toy and the other has the words "LIFE, LOVE AND LUST...SET ASIDE TIME TO EMBRACE YOUR BODY & SOUL". The back of the box gives you a little run down of the toy and comes in five different languages. The top opens and closes easily like any box of this style. It is not discreet thanks to the product images and words, but is discreet in the fact that there's not nudity on the package.







Inside of the box, the vibrator is protected by a thin plastic bag and is then put into a small bubble wrap bag, ensuring that your toy will come to you safely in one piece.



Along with your toy, you receive a little instruction manual. It's generic and not specific to this toy, but rather any vibrator from this company. The instructions are also written in several languages.


Since the box is so much bigger than the toy itself, and the box is cheaply made, I would recommend finding a different storage box. You could use the original package, but it will take up much more room than the toy. I would dispose of it as necessary.

I wasn't expecting a super strong vibrator when I received this toy in the mail. I thought that it would be light and buzzy and do nothing for me. Though this wasn't as much power as I like and need, I was surprised that it wasn't the 'normal' buzzy sensation that often come from this type of toy. It was a bit stronger and deeper, which was a nice surprise.

When I was cycling through the functions, I noticed that on the escalating settings there's a very obvious break between low, medium, and high; not a gradual increase. I found it to be rather annoying and frustrating more than pleasurable.

The toy is fairly comfortable to hold while in use, but I imagine it could get uncomfortable if used for an extended period of time. My hand felt a little tingly after use, but it didn't last long and wasn't bad.

This vibrator didn't make me climax, if nothing else, it might be fine for a warm up toy, but even that was a stretch for me. It's thin size paired with it's less than impressive strength left me feeling unsatisfied. Though it didn't work for me, I can see this being the absolute perfect beginner toy!
