Use

California Exotics’ Petite Couture Enchanted is a multifunction vibrator designed for vaginal insertion and g-spot stimulation; the main motor, which concentrates vibrations at the head of the Enchanted, allows for clitoral use as well. Given the Enchanted’s soft shaft and its respectable but not overly large size, this vibrator is gentle enough for a beginner, but shouldn’t disappoint more experienced sex toy enthusiasts either!

Material / Texture

The Enchanted is made primarily from Japanese silicone, and has a soft, squishable feel, with support beneath it where the motors are located. There is some texturing in the form of indents along the shaft and head of the vibrator, which I could definitely feel while using it. The handle and battery casing of the Enchanted is silver plastic, which flows pretty much seamlessly into the silicone shaft. The vibrator had a slight plastic smell when I removed it from its packaging, and still has a slight “silicone” smell.

Design / Shape / Size

This vibrator has a sleek design: the small plastic handle/battery casing is easy to hold, though the casing can be somewhat difficult to twist open, as the little “handle” used to open it is very small. The silicone shaft, while about four inches in circumference, is soft enough to have a little give, so beginners shouldn’t find the Enchanted an overly challenging vibrator to master. Two labeled buttons control the functions: one to turn the vibrator on and off, and the other to cycle through its various speeds.

Functions / Performance / Controls

As I mentioned, there are two buttons to control this vibrator: one turns the vibrator on and off, and the other cycles through its speeds. These buttons are easy to press, and are labeled: one with the universal ‘power’ sign, and a small wavy symbol to represent vibrations on the other. They also light up, which can be helpful, as the vibrator does not start up when the power button is first pressed. This two-button system is great, as it can definitely be an orgasm-killer to have to turn the vibrator off and then back on just to get to your favorite setting! The second button turns on the vibrator’s seven functions: three straight vibration settings, two pulsations, and two escalating settings.

That being said, the Enchanted is quite powerful given the fact that it takes just two AAA batteries; the silicone does not deaden the vibrations as can sometimes happen, and this vibrator actually seems to have two motors, as vibrations are concentrated at both the head and lower shaft. This vibrator is also very quiet, and can barely be heard through blankets even on the highest settings.

Care and Maintenance

Given that the Enchanted is made from silicone and is waterproof, it can easily be washed with warm soap and water, or sterilized with a 10% bleach solution. Only water-based lubricant should be used, and since silicone is not naturally very slick, it may be a good idea to keep some handy.

Packaging

Oh what a difference! The box for this vibrator doesn’t even look like it came from the same company as many of the prior Cal Exotics toys I’ve used. White, naked human-free, and sporting a picture of the vibrator with a little splash of water in the background, the packaging for the Enchanted even came with a little bubble wrap inside to keep the vibrator from being tossed around in transit. The packaging otherwise has the usual information: it describes the Enchanted’s functions, has a “Safe & Pure” seal, and of course explains that this vibrator is a novelty toy only.

Experience

Frankly, I did a double-take when I saw this sex toy! If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought the Enchanted came from a company other than California Exotics: it bears no resemblance at all to the last vibrator I reviewed – and that’s a good thing. The Enchanted was a lot of fun to use both on my clit and on my g-spot, though its softness meant that I couldn’t push the head of this vibrator as strongly against my g-spot as I tend to prefer. With easy to use controls and very quiet yet powerful functions, I’m definitely enchanted with the Enchanted!
