I am a mother of two biological children as well as two steps. I have always heard of Ben-Wa balls and never tried them. I do kegels whenever I think about it, but quite honestly, I am usually too busy to bother. I decided to purchase these and see what the fuss is all about.

When they arrived, I was a little unsure. They were pretty loud coming out of the package. I was worried that everyone around me would be able to hear them. No need for worries though. Once they are inserted, I couldn't hear them anymore.

They are made of food-grade plastic. They are hypo-allergenic, latex free and phthalates free. They come in two pastel shades in either pink or purple.

I used a water-based lube. They say that you can use any lube, but I always use a water-based because I have found that it is safer for most toys. Insertion was pretty easy. The balls are attached to each other with a plastic, flexible string and has a loop for retrieval.

Once they were in, I couldn't hear them at all. I really couldn't feel them once they were in. I could feel their presence a little and every now and then get a little movement of the ball that is inside moving around. It did, however, remind me that I had them in and to contract and release the vaginal muscles.

After having them in for a couple of hours, I removed them. I had to tug gently, but it wasn't unpleasant. Cleanup was a snap. I washed them in anti-bacterial soap and warm water. I dried them thoroughly and placed them back in the plastic sleeve container that they come in to keep them clean.

I have vowed to myself to do this every day for at least two weeks and see if there is a noticeable improvement in muscle tone and will be checking back in.
