Vivid's swirl marble vibrator - traditional vibrator by Doc Johnson - review by Sammi

The Vivid Swirl Marble Vibrator from Doc Johnson is a good starting vibrator for anyone who is not sure about size. The Swirl comes packaged in plastic, and looks very tiny in the box. I had to measure it to be sure it really was 6” long, and it is. It looks smaller than that, and is very unintimidating. That's probably because most of my vibrators and dildos are much, much larger. The diameter of this vibrator is about 1 1/4” at the widest point, and the tip is tapered to allow for smooth insertion.

The Swirl comes in 5 colors – I chose purple, and it is a lovely marbling of purple, black and white. The base clear, and unscrews to reveal the battery compartment for the 1AA battery. The battery easily slides in and out, so you won’t have a problem changing it when it runs out of power. The bottom of the base twists and adjusts the vibration speed from low to high. The high is fairly powerful considering there’s only 1 battery, but it doesn't compare to other vibes that use more AA or C batteries. It is, however, plenty powerful if you are new to vibrators or don't require one with extra oomph. The vibration noise of this vibrator rivals larger and more high-powered toys. It is loud! If you use this for clitoral stimulation, be aware that you won’t be discreet. If used for vaginal stimulation, you won't be very discreet, either.

This vibrator is made of plastic, and is phthalate free. Plastic is a non-porous material, and is hard with a smooth texture. Plastic can’t be sterilized so if you plan on sharing this toy a condom is a good choice. Cleaning this vibrator is easy with antibacterial soap and hot water. You can also wipe it down with toy cleaner or alcohol. Water-based, oil, and silicone lubes can all be used safely with plastic.

The Swirl works well for clitoral stimulation, and the tapered tip can target your clitoris nicely. It feels nice vaginally as well. This vibrator gets very slippery with lube, so it can be hard to thrust with or hold on to. While it’s a nice size for anal play, don’t use it anally as there is not a flared base. Don’t take the Swirl into the shower or bath, either, as it is not waterproof.

The Vivid Swirl Marble vibrator is a good choice for anyone starting vibrator play, or anyone who likes their vibes smooth and slim. It’s a nice and inexpensive introduction to vibrators.
