A Sirious Disappointment

I was hoping Siri would be the perfect clitoral vibrator, quiet yet powerful. I think it would work well for a lot of people, but it didn't live up to my expectations.
Published: November 9, 2010
Pros:
Quiet, rechargeable, multiple speeds and patterns.
Cons:
Not as stimulating as I expected, not water resistant, expensive.
Rating by reviewer:

extremely useful review

Use

Siri is designed to stimulate the clitoris and vulva, but can also be used on the nipples, anus, or other external areas. It would work well to stimulate the clit during partner sex, and can be used alone or with another toy during masturbation. It is very quiet which is great for anyone who lives with other people, like I do. Siri is not waterproof, so you can't take it in the tub or shower. It would be a good toy for traveling since it is small, quiet, and discreet and can be locked so that it won't turn on in your bag.

Material / Texture

The body of the toy is made from shiny white, ABS plastic. The underside and tip are covered with a thin layer of silicone in either pink, red, or purple. It is not squishy or flexible due to the hard plastic underneath. The silicone is smooth, matte and silky with a slight drag. Siri is non-porous and does not contain phthalates or latex.

Design / Shape / Size

Siri is palm-sized, 3 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. It is ergonomic and fits nicely into the hand, and (more importantly) onto the vulva. It is shaped like an oval with a slightly pointed tip and a rounded ridge on the bottom. You can use the tip for pinpoint stimulation, or lie the toy flat against the vulva so that the ridge rests on the clit while the sides of the toy stimulate the labia. It is small and doesn't have a phallic shape, so it is discreet and easy to hide.
    • Discreet look/design
    • Ergonomic
    • Partner play

Functions / Performance / Controls

Siri has 8 speeds and 6 vibration patterns:
1. Steady vibration
2. Slow pulsing
3. Fast pulsing
4. Escalating from low to high
5. Escalating from low to high, then back to low
6. Random

You can adjust the speed for each pattern. The vibrations are low-pitched and throbby. They are strongest in the tip, but travel pretty strongly down the short length of the toy.

The controls are simple to use, but you have to press the buttons quite firmly. There are 4 buttons, a + and - sign and an up and down arrow. Holding the + sign turns the toy on and increases the vibrations. The - sign decreases the vibrations, and after the lowest level is reached, turns the toy off. The arrows take you through the vibration patterns. They are not in a loop, so you can't use the up arrow to go from the last pattern back to the first one. Holding all 4 buttons down for 5 seconds will lock or unlock the controls.

This is a rechargeable vibrator and according to Lelo a 2 hour charge will give you up to 4 hours of use. It lasts me about 3 sessions on the highest, constant setting. If you use a lower setting it will last longer. The buttons flash white to indicate that the toy is charging, and stay lit when it is fully charged. They flash red when the battery is about to die. Lelo advises waiting until the battery is dead before recharging. Siri can be turned on while the charger is plugged in, but it should not be used this way because it can damage the battery.
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings
    • Rechargeable

Care and Maintenance

Only water based lubes should be used with this vibrator, since silicone lubes can react with silcione toys.

The charging port has no cover, so you have to be careful when cleaning it so no water gets inside. Use a toy cleaning wipe, or a damp washcloth with antibacterial soap.

Packaging

Lelo packaging is classy and discreet. There is an outer box in the same colour as your toy, with a black box inside. The toy is encased in a clear plastic bubble surrounded by a flat piece of black cardboard that is meant to be hung up at a store. It comes with instructions, a warranty, and a white satin pouch that can be used to store both the Siri and it's charger.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Very informative
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I like Siri, but it's not as stimulating as I hoped it would be. It feels pretty strong in my hand, so I'm not sure whether it's a lack of power, or if it's just not the right type of vibration for my body. The Siri does make me orgasm, but it takes longer than I would like and I have to rub it back and forth across my clit to get more stimulation. I like to use it with my partner since it's quiet and can be used while we're having sex, but it wasn't able to knock the Form 2 out of it's spot as my go-to clit vibe.
Follow-up commentary
I haven’t used my Siri since I wrote the review. When I got it back out to write the follow up I was faintly hoping that something might have changed. Unfortunately, the vibrations still don’t work for my body. They are just too low in pitch. I managed to finish, but I had to do a lot of rubbing with the toy. It took a long time and my orgasm was weak and unsatisfying. It feels kind of strange when I use this toy; I can feel the vibrations, and that they are pretty strong, but I get almost no stimulation from them.

I'm sorry the Siri didn't work out for you ): I found there was a bit of a learning curve to get it into the best place, but everyone's body is different, so you just never know until you try the toy out!

Thanks for this. I keep considering Siri, but I'm not convinced the vibes will be worth the price.

The vibrations aren't bad in terms of power, but the frequency is just a little off for me.

  • Why Did The Lelo Siri Get Such Mixed Reviews?
    • Why Did The Lelo Siri Get Such Mixed Reviews? Was is based on expectations of comparing it to the other Lelo line? Other comparable products? Price point. Was there over heating/ charging issues. How does the vibration field/ strength compare to the Liv & Mona. Who (here) has tried all three?

I wish there was a better video review. The one posted is flashy, but not very informative. It would be really nice if someone would compare the difference between the three Lelo toys i have listed.

*edit- looks like the main complaints are non-waterproof & lacking Vroom for some. Does that pretty well sum it up?
    • lol I feel like you answered your own question. um, all I can say is reread the reviews. I know that what I gathered was that it heated up super quick and it was incredibly uncomfortable or down right painful for some.
    • The Siri has 31 reviews up, 20 of which give it 5 stars, 8 give it 4 stars, and only 3 go lower. That seems pretty positive to me. :) Though truly, you're not really going to get a better answer to your questions than from the reviews themselves.

  • If you had to choose one lelo product what would it be
    • So I've seen in other discussions a wide variety of choices. I want to know if you could only have one Lelo product which would it be and why. Do you already own one?

I have the Soraya and it's one of my favorites (though I do wish it were a bit stronger). I also have the Nea and my Luna beads are shipping as I type.

I have my eye on the Elise but it's not something I'd die without, you know? Lelo has some motion sense products that just launched that work like a Wii controller I think that's pretty freaking awesome but I'm waiting on some reviews to come out first. I'm also kinda like the Alia but if the motion sense reviews are good I'd pick those up before the Alia.

I will likely never buy a Siri because I need intense vibrations not lots of patterns.
    • Mona! I have Siri and Ella and they're great but I am soo exciting about buying the Mona in my next order. I've wanted that one for ages and ages :)

  • Zini Seed or Lelo Siri?
    • I've been on the market for a new, strong clitoral vibrator. I've been an avid Hitachi user for a few years, but have been slowly weaning myself off that and have been using the Lelo GiGi as my go-to clit toy.
Although I really like the GiGi as a clit toy vibe, I know it's not for that and sometimes the vibrations seem really weak to me. I've been looking at both the Seed and the Siri, but how do these two compare? Does someone have both? Which one is stronger, etc?
    • I don't have the seed but I do know that the Siri isn't super strong. And there aren't any reviews for the Seed up yet, are there?
    • There is some Seed reviews. Both vibes sound good, but I'd go with the Seed. I just ordered the Womolia which is supposed to be quite strong as well.

  • I have a discount for a LELO toy...which should I get?
    • I have a 40% off discount to Lelo's website, but I don't know what to get. I already own the Ina, the Ella, and the personal moisturizer. Of course I want EVERYTHING, but at this point I've narrowed it down to a few things. The new Mia, the Luna Beads, the candle/massage oil, or maybe the Siri. I've been buying lots of sex toys lately which is why I'm leaning towards the Luna Beads because they're cheaper and I don't own any Kegel exercisers yet. What would you do with a discount as awesome as this one?

If you haven't already used it or it hasn't expired, I'd go with the new Mia, it's supposed to be twice as strong!
Also, how'd you get such an awesome coupon?
    • I'm curious about what you ended up choosing! And yes, that coupon is awesome!

  • Waterproof?
    • Is this waterproof or splashproof?
    • Quote: Is this waterproof or splashproof?
No it's not waterproof and i baby mine to much to test but because the charger port is completly open it is likely that water would go in and then she would die, and that would be awful because the lack of water tolerance is her only fault. so i'm going to say no to splashproof as well.
    • Okay thanks! I was a bit confused about that. :)

    • Just curious about this product, please let me know your personal experiences so I can make a decision whether to buy it or not. Thanks
    • I would go check out the reviews on the Siri. It includes the reviewers personal experience with the Siri, ans you can get multiple opinions that way.

I haven't gotten a chance to do my review yet but I have to say that it's amazing, almost silent deep and rumbly very compact and conveniant to hold, i guess the real deciding factor between this and a lot of others is how deep of a vibration you like/need and how much you're willing to pay for it, i love mine and have not a regret in the world for getting it, though to be fare with coupons and points I got it a lot cheaper than i would have otherwise.
