A sure bet

Bravo, Evolved! This sleek, streamlined red beauty is everything I hoped it would be: strong, rumbly vibrations wrapped up in beautiful textured silicone. Although pattern lovers and those whose clits of steel can only be roused by the Hitachi may be disappointed, the powerful vibration level and nicely filling girth should be satisfying for most. If you're looking for a nice little toy to use for internal or external vaginal vibrations, look no further. Put your money down on red!

Use

The Roulette All on Red is a traditional vibrator meant for internal vaginal use. It has a vibrating shaft with a little texture. Without a flared base, I would be careful about using it for anal use. It would be hard to even keep a hand wrapped firmly around the grip, since you would be covering the dial that controls the vibrations. It could be used for external anal teasing. It can also be used externally on a clit or different parts of the vulva, or on any other part of your body you would like.

It could theoretically be used on your clit during penetrative partner sex, but due to the size and length, it wouldn't be my first choice for this use.

Material / Texture

The All on Red is made of plastic and silicone. The plastic is the part with the dial that controls the vibrations, the silicone is the insertable part. Both materials are high-ranked in terms of safety. The silicone is smooth and has very little drag. There is a bit of texture, but it is not very noticeable in use, so it would still be appropriate for beginners or people who are sensitive to extreme textures. The material does have a slight smell, but I doubt I would ever have noticed if I had not brought it right up to my nose for the purposes of writing this review. It's hardly noticeable at all. There is no taste whatsoever. The material is not very rigid and has some give - if you pinch it with your fingers, it squishes a little.

Design / Shape / Size

I really like the shape of this vibrator. As I mentioned, the texture is not very noticeable, just enough to add some interest while thrusting. The length and girth are, in my opinion, perfect. This is only my third toy, and it's a Goldilocks situation for me (first one was too thin, second was too thick, this one is just right). Size is a very personal preference, but I think this size will be pleasing for many people - it's thick and satisfying, but still comfortable. Because I usually use it for solo sessions, without much foreplay or lead-up, I usually need some lube with it, but others may not need any. I think it would be appropriate for ambitious beginners as long as they have water-based lube on hand.

The tapered shape also makes for easier insertion. Although I don't own the All on Red's oft-compared twin, the Bet on Black, I imagine that this one is easier for insertion because the tip slides in very easily. It also looks nice! Aesthetically, the design is my favorite of all the vibes in the Roulette line. I just love the hot red color and the design is streamlined and appealing. However, I don't consider it very discreet, so perhaps it's not the best choice if you have to hide your toys.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The All on Red works wonderfully. For me, it was exactly what I was looking for - it did everything that my cheaper traditional vibes do, but simply better. The dial on the base controls the vibration level, which covers a wide range, from one vroom up to a strong and orgasm-inducing four. This was my first experience with significantly rumbly vibes and I LOVED it! The vibrations are deep and travel well all throughout the shaft, although they are slightly more concentrated at the tip. It's very simple to keep a hand on the dial and adjust the vibration level during a play session, and it only takes one or two uses to get used to which direction to twist the dial in.

The noise level is slightly hard for me to classify because it varies greatly depending on the vibration level. The lowest setting is whisper-quiet, so quiet that a friend standing right next to me had to ask if I'd turned it on, but the loudest setting is around the same noise level as, say, a space heater. It seems very noticeable to me in use, but I can't hear it through a door, making this one good for my dorm living situation. Also, the sound is significantly muffled - like by at least 50% - if it's inside you, so if you're using it internally, noise is much less of a concern.

There is a silicone ring that seals off the battery compartment, making this toy waterproof. I suggest taking the batteries out when not in use because I forgot to do so with the first pair of AAs and it ate them right up.

Care and Maintenance

Since this toy is made of silicone and plastic, it's very easy to take care of. You can clean it with warm water and soap, or with a toy cleaner. I tend to do both - I rinse it off with soap and water, then wipe it off with an antibacterial wet wipe. Usually silicone can be boiled to sanitize, but since this toy is part plastic, unfortunately that's not an option. I've heard people say that silicone attracts dust and lint, but I've never noticed it getting dusty or dirty, probably because I always put it right back in the box once it's clean. Still, it's probably a good idea to give it a rinse before using as well, just to be safe. The most important thing to remember is never to use silicone-based lube, since it will melt silicone toys. Any water-based lube should be fine.

Packaging

I love the box All on Red came in! It's a hard plastic box that provides a great way to store it. It may not be luxury packaging, and since it's transparent, you can't leave it out on your dresser. But like everything else about this toy, it's just a step up from the cheaper toys I've experienced before. The packaging would also make it appropriate for gifting.

Experience

I love this toy! Sure, it doesn't have patterns or any flashy "wow" factors, but if you're just looking for a good traditional vibrator, it's a lovely choice. The rumbly vibrations and perfectly satisfying girth make for much better, thigh-trembling orgasms than other toys I've owned. If you already have a large toy collection, this might not be unique enough to sway you, but if you're still looking for a "basic" vibrator that's perfectly right for you, I recommend it highly. It allows me to sneak in great orgasms when I only have a few minutes to spare. In fact, on more than one occasion, the awesome orgasm-causing abilities of this toy have reminded me of that old potato chip commercial: bet you can't have just one!

I agree with you, this is a beautiful vibe, even if it is basic. (But simpler is better sometimes ^_~.) The way you described this to me does make me want it and I'm getting a larger collection by the month. How long does it take to go through batteries?

The first pair of batteries I started out with, I left them in all the time, and I didn't wait for them to run out because the vibrations felt noticeably weaker after just a few days. However, taking the batteries out while not in use makes it last much longer. I've had it for a few weeks now with the second set of batteries and the vibrations are just as strong. So definitely take them out between uses, but I'm still probably going to buy some rechargeables, because I have no patience for weakened vibrations.

I'm glad you're thinking of getting the toy, I hope you love it as much as I do!

  • Problem with the Roulette All on Red?
    • I bought one of these during the Labor Day sale. It came in, I put in batteries and tested it out; loved it at first, but when I was about done (approx. 45 minutes in), it started doing something weird. It was turned up to full power, but suddenly the vibrations got really weak and it was pulsating strangely instead of a steady vibration. I thought maybe it was just a battery hog, so I took the batteries out and changed them, but then it wouldn't turn on at all unless I shook it some, and then it was sporadic and weak. So I figured "okay, it's just defective" and sent it back for a replacement.

      Well, the replacement arrived today and it just did the same thing. I really don't know what to do at this point. Any advice? Has anyone else run into this problem with this vibe?
    • I don't think I've ever kept mine on that long in one sitting before. If you really like it, I'd try to exchange for a third one. I know I've had a toy that I ended up getting two defective ones of. To me it wasn't worth trying it again, so I just had that assignment canceled and tried something else.
    • Yeah, I think I'll just get it exchanged again.
