A Wonderful Basic Vibe - Soft, Durable, and Effective

The Velvet Touch Vibrator isn't the most remarkable vibrator one could own. HOWEVER, it is a wonderful traditional vibe which is affordable, soft, and enduring. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences using it and I would encourage anyone at all interested to buy this, either because you are looking for a good toy as a beginner or because you want a classic in your collection. You won't regret it!

Use

This vibe is the epitome of a simple, classic toy. It is a bit noisy for my taste, particularly on its highest setting (though, to anyone who is striving for being as discreet as possible, a pin dropping sounds like an earthquake). However, on the lower setting, and under covers, even I was satisfied.
The Velvet Touch is good for insertion or clitoral stimulation - really, whatever you'd prefer. And, it's ideal for beginners or people who want to introduce toys into a situation with a partner who is unfamiliar with using them. And, have I mentioned that it's water proof? You'll enjoy showering that much more having this with you.

The look is very clean and the texture is firm but soft, as implied by the name. I have had no problems with it, in terms of cleaning and how well it's holding up. I absolutely encourage anyone who is looking for something basic and affordable to add this to their wish lists!

Material / Texture

The Velvet Touch Vibrator is made of PU coated plastic. This means it is firm, but it still has a certain softness too it which may be more appealing then simple, hard plastic. The material is easy to keep clean and is a nice, appealing color.

It was so soft and I was so excited about my purchase that, when I remembered that it was waterproof, I used it that very night!

The entire shaft is smooth, straight, and simple, making it ideal for beginners or people just looking for a traditional vibe to add to their collection. It is perfect for all over stimulation, but I have found it ideal for simple penetration and clitoral stimulation.

Design / Shape / Size

This vibe has a wonderful, simple, traditional design. The size seems neither too long nor too short and, though the circumference is a bit small for what I'd prefer, it is ideal for a beginner.

I have no problem hiding this under my pillow or in the drawer on my nightstand. This would be easy to transport and hide, but it is unmistakably a vibrator. So, depending on how concerned you are about it being seen, that should determine whether you are willing to travel with it anywhere outside of the bedroom and bathroom.

For the cost, it is an amazing choice and one I'd encourage anyone to try, particularly as a first vibe.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations occur throughout the shaft of the toy. It has a dial on the end to adjust the speed to your liking and it is very simple to use. I prefer it at the lowest setting most often, because I find the higher settings too strong to enjoy them as much. But, others may disagree. At the very least, one can appreciate the versatility of even a simple toy. The Velvet Touch is a bit noisy for my liking, particularly on the highest setting, though, under covers, it is muffled enough that I don't worry too much about it.

It is waterproof and I have used it multiple times in the shower. Checking it, I could see that no water leaked inside and it still functions just as well as when I bought it.

Care and Maintenance

This toy, due to its simple design and safe material, is super easy to keep clean. I don't own toy cleaner, but I use warm water and soap and it works just as well. Dry it off and keep it in your drawer or anywhere where it will stay fairly clean until your next use. I like to keep it in the drawer of the table next to my bed, so it is always within reach!

Packaging

The package for the Velvet Touch was the typical style of packaging for a vibrator and, I believe, included some instructions for use, including a reminder to make sure to close it tightly after putting the batteries in to be sure no water can enter and ruin the vibe.

Experience

I have used this toy for quite a while on my own and it has been wonderful as a basic, classic vibrator. I use it for both vaginal and clitoral play and it never fails to bring me to orgasm.

I am excited because I will be bringing this with me the next time I see my partner as he has expressed interest in seeing me use it and using it on me. He is inexperienced with sex toys so I am confident that the traditional style of this vibrator will be simple enough that he won't be intimidated. Perhaps he'll even enjoy using it so much that we'll incorporate other toys into our "sexy time" in the future!

Wow, great first review. I agree with Lauren about it being straight and to the point. I read so many reviews that I tend to get bored with all the long descriptions and details. I'm not saying that is bad, for reviews to be useful, you have to be very descriptive.   • Getting rid of stains on my Velvet Touch vibe?

      Hi, I accidentally used my Velvet touch vibrator during my period (like I started going and I didn't notice that I was already spotting). Since then it has some mild yellowing (I got it in lavander) and I don't know how to get rid of the stains! It does not seem to have an odor or anything, but does anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of the stains? I love this toy and its my first and only one I own, but I'm so annoyed with the staining!

      Any help would be appreciated!
    • You could try cleaning it with a bleach solution, but honestly it might just be stained. I'd say that if it doesn't smell and you've cleaned it real well, that might just be it. It won't affect the usability at all though, which is good. :)

      Cherry, In what ways does it stop working fast? Do you mean that the battery dies quickly? Or that the machine itself is faulty? I've had this toy for over four years, only had to change the battery once, and it has remained clean, odorless, retained its color, vibrations are as strong as when I first purchased/used it, and it never malfunctioned on it. Although it's a very inexpensive toy, it has outlasted all others in pleasure and in worth! Go for it!
    • I had mine for at least a year before it stopped working. When it stopped working, there was rust under the twisting part of the cap, so I likely caused it to stop working by not being careful when washing it. This was a FABULOUS toy when I had it, and I would buy another if I needed another basic vibe. For $13, you can't really go wrong. Don't abuse it (drop it, get the cap or insides wet) and it should last quite a while.
