This toy was definitely designed
The Snugglepuss is ALMOST a really great
sex toy for me. I love anything that stimulates the clit and the g-spot at the same time, and this is cute, soft, compact, and amazingly quiet. It does, however, have a few shortcomings (no pun intended) that make the toy less than ideal.
The site description lists the material as silicone, but the package refers to the sleeve as elastomer, so I am really not sure from which material this is made. The first problem I had with the Snugglepuss was operating the battery compartment. In order to get at the 3 watch batteries that power this, you have to roll back and remove the clit half of the vibrator sleeve. This was not terribly difficult, though I did worry about the sleeve tearing; however, putting the sleeve back ON was an incredible challenge. Trying to get the vibrator all the way into the sleeve, snugly, without tearing the sleeve was a challenge.
This challenge was tied up with another shortcoming of the Snugglepuss. It has no on/off switch, it just automatically turns on when the two ends are spread apart far enough. This feature might make for ease of operation, but it also makes it much more difficult to replace the sleeve while the thing is vibrating. Plus, you waste valuable and expensive watch battery charge while you are fumbling with it.
The Snugglepuss feels great to the hand. The bulbous g-spot stimulator is covered with very soft nubs. The clitoral stimulator is also lined with the same soft nubs, as well as having small “wings” on the side. Unfortunately, the soft nubs do not feel quite so soft when the bulbous head is being inserted into the vagina. The head is shaped for g-spot stimulation, so is somewhat difficult to insert; combine this with (now spiky-feeling) nubs, and you have got quite the project on your hands. Oh, and since you have to spread the two ends to get it in, the Snugglepuss is vibrating the whole time, whether you want it to or not.
Once in place, the Snugglepuss feels quite good. The nubs become more comfortable, and I was able to get the internal stimulator to rest right on my g-spot--nice! I wish the clit stimulator were about ½” longer, though; when I could get it to hit my clit it felt wonderful--but getting it to hit my clit was a challenge that required the aid of fingers. And, somehow, even though the vibe seems to turn on every time I touch it or pick it up, the ends closed enough to shut the vibrations off several times during play. NOT fun! I basically had to find one perfect position and then try not to move. I did climax, and it was deep and satisfying (a g-spot enhanced orgasms generally are for me), but it was a heck of a lot of work getting there.
The vibe runs on 3 watch batteries, and is almost completely silent. It is also surprisingly powerful. The toy is not waterproof, so please do not submerge it and take care when cleaning. I am not sure what the material is, so I would advice using water-based lube only, just in case. It cleans up well with a
spray-on toy cleaner--just take care to clean carefully around the nubbed areas.
Would I recommend the Snugglepuss? I honestly do not know. It feels really good when you get it where it is supposed to go, but it has several annoyances about it that kind of ruined the experience for me. I would probably suggest something like
The Zone instead.
I actually found yet ANOTHER problem with this when I went to remove the batteries for storage. Lube tends to get underneath the sleeve something awful, so make sure to clean both inside and out after use!
I wondered if turning off while in use would be a problem with this toy... makes no sense to have that be the on/off mechanism, given the vast array of body structures.
No on/off seems like a huge mistake.
Thanks, Jimbo! I was pretty happy with The Zone, and hopefully I'll have a review of the Rock Chick soon.
It's really always been the spiky nubs that have kept me away from this thing. A hands free g-spot/clitoral vibrator still intrigues me though. This being so frustrating, moves me even farther away from it. Thanks for the great review, DD.
Yeah--in my opinion, anyway, it's definitely 'cuss worthy,' if only it come so close to the mark of being a great toy.
I always thought this one was so cute but, just had that "feeling" that it would be somewhat of a pain. I'm glad I know for sure now! It's hard enough to keep our voices down while the kids are asleep, let alone cussing out a toy!
Thanks, as always, Bulma. The batteries are surprisingly powerful, but yeah--getting that sleeve off is a pain, and I can't help but fear it will tear easily.
Wow, glad I didn't get this one. I am pretty sure I would hate it. Just being run on watch batteries might do it for me, let alone the issue with getting to the batteries. Great review Dame Demi!
