Pirates Katsuni's revenge of the sea rabbit - g-spot rabbit vibrator by Digital Playground - review by IndependentlyHappy

Arrrrr, this could be better, matey!

Overall, Pirates Katsuni’s Revenge of the Sea is a decent rabbit vibe. It’s thick and will fill you up, but it has design flaws and may not be suitable for your anatomy. This toy got the job done for me and is very nice to look at, but there are better rabbit vibes out there and this is probably best suited for women who have very sensitive clits.

Pros:
Attractive design and color, thick, textured, provides dual stimulation.
Cons:
Gap between clitoral stimulator is too large, too thick for beginners, clitoral vibrations are weak.

Use

Katsuni’s Revenge of the Sea Rabbit is a dual stimulation rabbit-style vibe for vaginal and clitoral use, with a curved head for G-spot play. Since the clitoral attachment would prevent this toy from getting lost inside you, it could be used for anal insertion as well. However, it’s made of a porous material, so I would recommend covering it with a condom if you plan on switching orifices.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of TPE, and the base is a velvety matte plastic. TPE is less porous than jelly but more porous than silicone, so it cannot be fully sterilized and you should use a condom if you plan on sharing this toy. The TPE used to make this toy is pleasantly soft and squishy, and the various ridges in the shape of chains, pearls, and other pirate-themed symbols give this toy a very bumpy feeling that should satisfy any fans of toys with such textures.

I sniffed the Revenge of the Sea and could not detect any noticeable odor coming from either the TPE or the plastic base. The storage pouch is made of a soft vinyl or plastic material, and also does not have any detectable odor.

Design / Shape / Size

In my opinion, the Revenge of the Sea is a very unique-looking and attractive toy in a black and red color combination that I’m fond of. The toy measures in at about 10” including the base/control panel, with about 5” of insertable length. It’s also a relatively large and thick toy, and therefore may not be a good choice for beginners. At its widest point, it’s about 1.75” in diameter and 5.5” in circumference. However, more experienced toy users should love how thick this toy is.

Adding to this toy’s uniqueness factor is the fact that the clit stimulator looks like a giant squid, octopus, or Cthulhu, with its longest tentacles poised to stimulate your clit. These are very squishy and flexible, which (in theory, anyway), should make it easier to position them over your clit. Since many women have issues with shafts of rabbit toys being too long or incompatible with their bodies, I should point out that the tips of the tentacles hit at about 2.5-3” down the shaft when measured from the head. If you’ve measured other rabbit vibes and found that these dimensions don’t work for your anatomy, you’ll want to look into getting a different rabbit vibe.

The head has a sharply-curved tip for G-spot stimulation and, as I mentioned above, the head and shaft of the toy feature bumps and ridges for increased stimulation. They also add to the aesthetic appeal of the toy since I noticed some cool-looking chain and skull designs near the base of the shaft. For those who like rotating pearls, this toy features four rows of red pearls underneath a smooth transparent section of the shaft. The base features red rhinestones embedded into its plastic, as well as red symbols and white control buttons. I would not call the Revenge of the Sea discreet since, as unique as it appears, it’s still a sex toy that clearly looks like a sex toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy takes four AAA batteries, and the bottom of the base unscrews easily to reveal the battery compartment. I’m fairly sure, though, that as long as you screw the cap tightly enough it should not open and cause the batteries to fall out mid-use. The compartment contains a plastic holder for the batteries, which detaches so that you can more easily insert the batteries. There is no O-ring or stopper to prevent water from seeping into the compartment, so this toy is splash proof and NOT waterproof. The control panel consists of a central power button, a left semicircular one to control the clitoral stimulator, and a right semicircular one to control the rotating shaft.

The Revenge of the Sea is not particularly loud, even on its highest setting. It’s quieter than my Rabbit Habit, since I put the two toys next to each other on their highest settings for comparison. This toy’s shaft produces a slow, steady whirring sound, while the clitoral stimulator makes more of a buzzing sound. I was not able to hear the Revenge of the Sea through a closed door. I tested this by placing it on the floor of my bathroom in its storage bag, leaving the room with the door closed, and putting my ear to the door. I couldn’t hear anything, so either my hearing is poor, the refrigerator muffled the sound, this toy is relatively discreet, or some combination thereof.

This toy’s buttons are easy to press, but not so prominent that they could be accidentally hit during use. It features several patterns of vibrations for the clitoral attachment and the rotating shaft. One touch of the power button sets the toy on the default Setting One for each. Each consecutive press of the left or right button triggers the next descending setting until the toy resets back to the beginning and default setting. To make this review easier to read, they’re listed below:

Clitoral stimulator (left semicircular button):
One: Default setting; relatively low and steady vibration.
Two: Higher speed and stronger stimulation.
Three: Highest speed and strongest stimulation.
Four: Pulsing stimulation that starts in the body of the squid and extends upward to the tentacles.
Five: Slower pulsing, with a steady “buzz buzz buzz buzz” sound.
Six: Quicker pulsing in groups of three, with the last pulse longer than the other two, sounding like “buzz-buzz-BUUUUZZ, buzz-buzz-BUUUUZZ”.
Seven: A very quick, continuous “buzz-buzz-buzz-buzz” sound.

Rotating shaft (right semicircular button):
One: Default setting; relatively low and steady vibration.
Two: Higher speed and stronger stimulation.
Three: Highest speed and strongest stimulation.
Four: Pulsing stimulation that goes from lower to higher, and back.
Five: Quicker, pulsing stimulation that escalates quickly from lower to higher.

While this seems like plenty of variety, none of the settings are especially strong aside from Setting Three, so this toy would be more suited to women who don’t need strong clitoral vibrations to get off. Also, there is no way to turn on just the clitoral stimulator and not the rotating shaft, or vice versa. You have no choice but to have the two run simultaneously.

Care and Maintenance

The Revenge of the Sea is made of TPE, so it is a porous material that can't be fully sterilized. You can, however, use a mild soap and water or a commercial toy cleaner before and after each time you use this toy, and make sure that you use a condom over it if you plan on sharing or switching orifices. I cleaned this toy with just antibacterial soap and water, although I found that all of the little nooks and crannies in the head and around the clitoral stimulator made it hard to remove all of the lube and other residue from the toy so I had to clean it more than once.

TPE is suitable for use with either silicone or water-based lubes, but oil-based lubes will break down the material. This toy comes with a convenient and attractive storage pouch, which is more than large and girthy enough to fit this large toy. It seems to be made of a shiny satiny vinyl or plastic-y material, and appears to be easy to clean should the need arise.

Packaging

This product’s packaging is quite large. The toy itself is encased in a clear plastic box, which in and of itself is bulky. There is an additional plastic backing with a large picture of porn star Katsuni, the words “Digital Playground Presents – a Joone Film – Pirates”, and the name of the product on the front; based on this, I would not call the packaging discreet. It’s likely too large to be a storage container, but this is why Digital Playground included the storage pouch.

The back features a brief description of the product plus some of the other toys in Digital Playground’s Pirates line and the original Pirates adult movies. The packaging indicates that this toy is multi-speed, splash proof (but NOT waterproof), velvety soft, and phthalate-free.

Experience

Overall, I enjoyed using the Revenge of the Sea, but it isn’t without flaws. It required a good amount of lube and some warm-up with smaller toys before I was able to insert it, and it filled me nicely and I enjoyed the girth. However, the long length of the shaft meant that the curved head was much too high to hit my G-spot when the clitoral stimulator was in position. I did enjoy thrusting the toy, but overall I’m not a fan of very sharply curved G-spot heads since they tend to feel more like they’re uncomfortably poking me than anything else. Plus, this defeats the purpose of the toy: it isn’t especially designed for thrusting, and it renders the clitoral stimulator useless.

Another gripe I have with this toy is the fact that there is a large gap between the clitoral stimulator and the shaft. As I mentioned earlier, the squishiness of the toy’s TPE material should, in theory, be able to allow the tentacles to bend easier and make up for the distance, but the gap is so excessive that it is awkward to position the tentacles with one hand and hold the toy’s base with the other. They were still able to get me off and they stayed in their place once I positioned them, but this is honestly more work than I would have liked to go through in order to get off. I also have to position the ears on my Rabbit Habit in use, but that process isn't nearly as intrusive.

Surprisingly, I preferred the steady vibrations to the pulsating ones, since most of the settings are weak. I found that none of the pulsating settings was strong enough to get me off so I had to resort to the highest one (which I labeled as Three). The idea of pulsating vibrations intrigued me, but I was disappointed because I could not feel them as well as I thought I’d be able to. I couldn't really feel the rotating pearls either while they were in use.
Follow-up commentary
After a while, all I have to say about this toy is...meh. It does do the job, but it just isn't the toy that I will reach for first if I need a quick fix. Between the weak motors and the large size that frankly requires more warming up than this toy is worth (my Revolution is larger, but I can't say the same for it), this toy hasn't and probably won't see a considerable amount of use.
