Awww, Gee...

A great luxury vibes for those who love gspot vibrators, this toy is great for those who want something simple, elegant, and rechargeable. However, it's not a powerhouse and it may not be strong enough for some people as well as the shape not agreeing with all body types.
Published: December 11, 2011
Pros:
Quiet, rechargeable, comes with it's own storage bag
Cons:
Might not be strong enough, expensive, only compatible with water based lubes

Use

The Gigi by Lelo is a luxury gspot vibrator. It has a flat head and is angled to hit the gspot and massage it while vibrating. It can also be used a clitoral vibrator if you prefer a flat surface rather than something more pinpoint. It can also be used to massage other parts of the body. It's great for someone who knows a bit about toys, I wouldn't say it's made exactly for a beginner due to the shape and the cost.

This toy can be used by a single person or with couples. The Gigi is very rigid, so care should be taken if a partner uses it on the other as it can hook on the public bone and become very painful if pulled out incorrectly.

Also, do note that this toy is splashproof, but isn't waterproof. Keep out of the tub and shower. And it's also not designed for anal usage, either, so do not stick this up your butt as it may get lost!

Material / Texture

The Gigi is made of hard plastic with a metal band aorund the middle, and the shaft coated in a velvety soft silicone that can be sterilized and it doesn't have any taste or odor to it. On the plastic end is the charging port and it's covered by a silicone flap, and above that are four buttons centered on a D-pad.

Due note that because it's silicone, silicone lubes is a no go as you may ruin the toy using them. Water based lubes only!
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

Gigi is a rigid gspot vibrator. It has a slight curve and a rounded yet blunt head to apply pressure to the gspot and massage it. It can also, however, double as a clitoral vibrator. It's about 6 1/2 inches long, 4 inches of that are insertable. The head is smaller than the average size at only 1 1/8 inches wide. Oeverall it's a smaller, nonthreatening looking toy.

There are four buttons on direction pad, a plus, a minus, and up and down arrows. These cycle through the vibrations as well as increase or decrease the intensity. Holding the buttons a certain way also locks the toy so it doesn't turn on when the buttons are accidentally pressed.

At the bottom is a small hole used to charge the toy. It has a silicone flap over it to prevent anything getting inside it.

Overall this toy looks pleasing to the eyes, but it's not very discreet if you're looking for something that doesn't catch the attention of someone.
    • Whimsical / artistic

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Gigi has five settings of vibrations:

1. Steady vibration
2. Slow and steady pulses
3. Medium paces pulses
4. Fast paced pulses
5. Rollercoaster vibration (transitioning from high to low, over and over, like a wave)

To turn it on, old the plus sign until it turns on, then hold or press it over and over to turn up the intensity. To turn it off, hold the minus button down until it shuts off. The up and down arrows cycle through the vibration patterns. The toy also has a lock function, just press the plus and minus and hold until the light turns off. Repeat to unlock the toy.

Gigi is rechargeable as well and only takes a few hours to charge, and can last up to two hours on a single charge. It also has moderate vibration strength. Not enough to be a powerhouse, but not little enough to be a dud. However, it may not be strong enough for some people, so if you want something stronger, look elsewhere. The toy is also pretty quiet, even when on high, but you may need some white noise going on in the background to make sure no one can hear it through a closed door.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Rechargeable

Care and Maintenance

Since this toy has a motor, do not boil it or stick in the dishwasher! It will break and you'll be left with basically an expensive dildo, in which case it's better to get the non-vibrating version of Gigi, the Ella. Just warm soapy water is all you need to clean the toy, but do be careful not to get water in around the buttons or the charging port as it's not waterproof. You can wipe the silicone part of the toy in a 10% bleach solution as well.

Also, with it being silicone, remember to NOT use silicone lube with this toy.

When done, just store it in the little bag that comes with it.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Gigi is stored in a black box that is really study and minimal. Inside is the toy with a plastic over, and under it is a compartment that holds the charger, manual, and the fabric bag for the toy. There is also a warranty in case something happens to your toy.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Minimal

Experience

I really wanted to like the Gigi. When I was new to toys, I wanted to know about my gspot. I had gotten the Ella, but I found it didn't work for me, so I thought to try vibrations, so I bought the Gigi later. I found out, sadly, that my gspot doesn't even react to vibrations at all, but rather pressure, in which I found out using a different toy altogether.

One thing about this toy is the head. It kept catching on my pubic bone while thrusting, making it very uncomfortable. Also due to the broad flat head, for me it wasn't too good as a clitoral vibe as I prefer more pinpoint vibrations.

Another qualm I have is the length. My gspot is way further in and at only 4 inches, it's barely reached. If only this toy was slightly longer! I'm sure pressure plus vibrations would work well for me, but I haven't found a toy good enough to do both yet.

Sadly, this toy was a let down to me, but I blame it on my body type. It's a great toy, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't work for me.

Thanks for the nice review! I'm a little wary about g-spot toys with broad and flat heads too.

actually though i'm working on my review right now- yes for internal stimulation it was a bit uncomfortable unless i rocked it against my pubic bone. I can only take like 4 max 5 inches inserted and though i was initially drooling over the shape on the tip it felt the same as when you're having sex and your cervix gets bruised- except it wasn't against my cervix. its quite hard and has little give to it though the silicone is quite nice. I used it more on my clit and she seemed to enjoy the vibrations(shrug)

    • How easy is the Gigi- G Spot Vibrators to use during sex?
    • I think it's more of a solo toy. You should look at the We vibes.

I think it works pretty well for this purpose. I use it simultaneously with a dildo all the time. Is it the best for this purpose? I would say you'd be better off using a smaller vibrator such as the Lelo Siri which is another personal favorite of mine during piv sex. Although it is pretty easy to use the Gigi. Works in all positions where your body isn't completely pressed against a surface or your partner's body. You'll need to give a little space in between you and your partner to fit the toy but it still works really well.

  • Lelo Gigi - Using a Condom or Not
    • I have recently bought the Gigi vibrator from LELO.

For my first use, I used a condom to cover the Gigi (the brand I used is Lifestyles Studded). After removing the condom, I noticed that the lubricant, from the inside the condom, left a kind of oily residue on the Gigi. I tried to use my toy cleaner to remove it, but I am slightly worried

I am worried that the lubricant from this condom is not water-based. Now, I have a few questions that I was unable to research answers to.

      1) Was the condom I used water-based?
      2) Have I ruined my new Gigi?
      3) Is it best to use a condom on the Gigi or not?

Any advice/help will be much appreciated.

      - Dr. Manhattan
    • From what I can find via Google, it looks like the lubricant in that condom isn't a silicone lubricant so it should be okay.

Lubricant Ingredients: Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Phenonip, Carbomer

I don't think you're ruined anything. If you're concerned you might want to try to find a different type of condom that leaves less residue. I have no suggestions because almost all condoms irritate me and since I'm fluid bonded with my partner we don't use them.

What would you recommend to clean the Gigi? I currently have a toy cleaner called "Swiss Navy."

Will using soap and water be bad for the Gigi? At least just for the silicone part of the vibrator?

  • is jt worth it
    • Is the product worth the price ????
    • I'm pretty sure we answered a similar set of questions about the pros and cons of expensive vibrators.
    • Quote: Is the product worth the price ????
Absolutely!! I bought mine a couple years ago after (literally) melting my previous one. Between the cost of having to replace my vibrators and the batteries constantly, I went for it and have no regrets!! Gigi is a regular part of our sex life! However, I use it only for cliteral stimulation (which works for me) so I can't speak if you are interested in G-spot usage.
The one drawback is I've found that I tend to hit the speed controls during use. Otherwise, the warranty is great (though i've never had one problem with it), it's easy to keep clean and store, and I LOVE that it's rechargable.
      Enjoy!

I highly recommend the Gigi for G-spot play. It's firm enough to stimulate it with the amount of pressure needed, but velvety enough to not be too much. Additionally the vibration settings I found to be ideal for pressing against my G-spot. Just have a towel ready!

I would recommend the Gigi for g-spot play. I will point out though that if you have a g-spot that is on the further side in terms of depth in the vagina, or if like me your vaginal canal has a sharp curve to it then you should look for a toy that is longer than the Gigi. I love the Gigi as a clitoral vibrator but based on my anatomy it didn't do much for me as a g-spot stimulator. Take your anatomy into consideration before you buy a toy for g-spot play. If you are like me and think you'll need a more lengthy toy try the G-Spot Pink glass stimulator. I'm currently working on a review for that toy and it is a personal favorite of mine.

  • Charging Gigi in the UK
    • FiredrakeNemmy
So uh, my gf lives across the pond in England and I wanted to get a little something to bring her next I go visit.

She really likes the use of the Gigi vibrator but I'm worried about the charging of the toy, I learned to be wary of such things when I blew out the power to my Wii :X

But anyways, if anyone who has one could kindly take a look at the allowed voltages I would really appreciate it. The voltage info can usually be found on the charger itself ( a bunch of random numbers and such and has that UL logo ) Does it list the Input as 100V-240V or just something around 100V?

      Thanks!

They're good for 100-240V. I charged mine while living abroad just fine.
    • The charger I have with mine has the 100V-240V range.

You might also look at getting a charger specifically for using the Gigi in England.

    • My 22nd birthday is coming up which means birthday monies <3 I'm trying to see if I can orgasm with my gspot but haven't had any luck. I've been close but no beans yet. I'm debating getting this to see if it'll work for me, plus I'm trying to go off birth control, it's made my sex drive completely dissappear after 2 years of being on it, not to mention making me depressed, moody, etc.

Anyway, would this be recommended? Where's the vibration, though? More in the shaft towards the buttons or more at the tip? And is it plenty strong? (I need strong vibrations.)

I'll have to order at a time my dad won't be home, though, and make sure it arrives when he's at work--how embarassing it'd be for me for him to find out I have toys!

  • is the gigi a good starter g-spot vibe?
    • My friend Lee's birthday is coming up and ever since I told her about female ejaculation and what it is and that I can do it, she's been trying to find everything about it and is really interested in a g-spot vibrator, but she doesn't really like the way most vibrators feel with vibrations. To her, they feel like an "Oh, there's something vibrating in my ladyparts but it's doing nothing for me." So, my question is, is the Gigi different in that sense that the vibrations have some "variety" to them and they're not so monotonous? I'd love to get her the Gigi for her birthday and have heard nothing but great things about it.

My Gigi is on its way, so I'm not much help there... Although, whenever I read about female ejaculation the Ella is usually involved.

It doesn't vibrate, but you may want to check it out.

Miss KissThis totally beat me to the punch! If it has to vibrate and you want to be able to use it for clitoral stimulation, Gigi is great. But if you're on a lower budget and only want g-spot stimulation, the Ella is one of this forum's favorite dildos.

  • Best G-spot vibrator. Which one to pick?
    • Rachell25
LELO has presented a couple of very well designed G-spot vibrators, like Gigi, Liv and Elise, lately. Just looking at them makes me feel horny. They all have great features and different vibration modes and they are also rechargeable, so I can safe my money on batteries.
Gigi seems to be the toy of my dreams due to its well pronounced curved tip. I guess that will lead to a better contact with my G-spot.
Any ideas, suggestions, tips? Anything will do.

PS: Will Gigi make me squirt???
    • Rainbow
Wow... that looks really splendid, in fact, all of them do.
It looks like it's going to be my G-spot's best friend for ages.

That must be a bargain but it is kind of expensive for me at the moment but as soon as I can afford one I will surely have one in my toy box.
    • Siren
My dear, not every woman is able to "squirt", it depends on every woman's physiology but it is definitely going to send you to Seven's Heaven of Pleasure.
I own one, the Liv, and it's just terrible, in the good meaning of the word.
I can assure you, you made a perfect choice if you're looking for G-spot stimulation.
