Baffling, and not just because it smells like fish

If you have $50 to spend on a toy, please invest it elsewhere. While there may be someone out there who would like this toy, they would be able to get MANY better things on Eden for the same price. Evolved really dropped the ball with this toy.

Use

The Love Candy Curve is not the most versatile toy. It does have a motor, which means it vibrates, but the weak vibrations make this lacking for clitoral use, and it wouldn't do much at all to work out sore muscles as an actual massager.

The intended use of the Curve is to stimulate the clitoris and labia. The small, pointed tip and wide body fit well onto the vulva, and the small ridges make it a bit more textured than the average bullet. It also can be used on the nipples and to cup the testicles.

While you can use this toy for vaginal insertion, the shape and rigidity makes it uncomfortable. On top of it being uncomfortable, it's also not long enough to hit the g-spot of most women, so it's more for vaginal teasing.

Even if it's not an appealing shape, you shouldn't try and insert this anally. It has no flared base, cord, or handle to keep it from slipping in and getting lost. Even if you did manage to find a 'safe' way to use this, it wouldn't be good for prostate stimulation, so it's not worth the risk!

If you're looking for a first toy to use as a couple, this would not be a good choice. While it would be a nice shape to use during foreplay, oral, and externally during sex, the high price and low power won't give you a good impression of what toys can add to sex.

I feel similarly about this being your first toy in general. For the high price there are more powerful, versatile, and fun options out there, and this will probably just end up feeling like a waste of money that could have been better spent.

While this toy isn't a good buy, it does pass Ryu's Dorm Seal of Approval. It's small, has a nice case, is wapterproof, and is quiet enough that no one will be able to hear it over the shower or through a door.

Material / Texture

The Love Candy is made from silicone and plastic. These are both nice, safe materials, and silicone is by far my favorite because it's more flexible than plastic and glass, but just as safe.

Silicone is rated a 10 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale. It's nonporous and body safe, meaning that it won't leak gross chemicals into you and that bacteria can't live under the surface of the toy. It's flexible and soft, and usually has a bit of drag to it.

Plastic is rated an 8 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale. It's very firm, and almost never has any drag to it at all. Plastic can't be boiled, so in order to disinfect this toy you should wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution.

Even though silicone is soft, most of this toy has little give to it because the silicone is over firm plastic. The ridges do have a bit of give to them, but no part of this toy is flexible. The silicone does cause it to have a bit of drag, but lube is not a must.

This toy comes in two colors. I got the pink/purple because it was more unique. It is more feminine than masculine, so if you don't want a girly-colored toy I'd go with the black. It is more of a purple than a pink.

While the toy is totally smooth in material, there are several ridges on the tip. They can be felt very slightly when it's used externally, just enough to let you know they're there, but not enough to irritate. There are also several larger ridges on the top to make it easier to grip.

As soon as I opened this toy I got a strong whiff of fish. Why? I don't know. It has faded a bit with washing, but especially at first it really transferred to my hands and was awful. The case also smells like chemically-fish, so storing it in there doesn't help.

This toy is made of great, safe materials. It's very smooth and has little texture, and the color is very pretty. All users will appreciate the nice materials that this toy is made of, but most won't like the scent.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is pretty much the only worth while thing about this toy. I really can't find anything that I dislike about it, especially only considering it being for clitoral stimulation.

This toy is 4.25 inches long in total, and is 3 inches across at the widest place. It's a similar shape to a curved, pointed Mia, and fits very well in my hand. It's also very thin, which keeps it from getting in the way during sex.

If you're worried about getting something phallic, this is a good option as far as the design goes. It almost looks like a tongue with the pointed tip, wide middle, and ridges, but it's not as realistic as some 'tongue vibrators' are. The raised ridges on the back almost give it a playfully sinister look, which may be ideal for some people.

The raised ridges also make this fit well to the shape of your fingers. If you have very large fingers it may not work as well, but if you have average or small fingers it should be fine. The ridges on the tip make for subtle clitoral texture, which isn't too intense.

In terms of actual use, this toy is good for pinpoint and fairly broad stimulation. It fits well over the labia to rest on the clitoris, but you can also hold the body and only touch the tip to your clitoris. While it looks like it may be good for g-spot stimulation, it's really not ideal because the shape makes it very awkward to try and insert.

If you leave this out it's fairly obvious what it is. It's not the best shape to pass off as a body massager, and it's not similar to any other household objects. It is a nice size and shape to toss into a large purse or overnighter, and it's small enough to hide most anywhere.

In total, this toy has a nice design. It fits well in my hand and on my anatomy, and is very comfortable to hold. If this review was based solely on shape it would be a 5 star toy, because I think almost all women will like the way this fits them.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functions of this toy are where this review REALLY goes down hill, if smelling like fish wasn't bad enough. It's not that this toy doesn't have some interesting patterns, and it's not even that it only has one power setting, but it's the motor itself that is the issue.

This toy is weak and buzzy. It almost seems broken, but the other reviewers who have gotten this toy say the same thing, so I have to think it's a flaw in all of the toys. In truth, I have never felt a toy over $20 so weak on high.

You control this toy with two buttons on the side of the base. There is a power button and a settings button. The power button turns it on to low, and then turns it off. Pressing the settings button cycles through all of the different settings. They are as follows:

1) Solid (2.5 bees, 1.5 vrooms)
2) BZZ BZZ BZZZZ BZZ BZZ BZZZZ
3) BZ BZ BZ BZ BZ BZZZZ
4) BZZZ BZZZ BZ BZ BZ BZ
5) BZBZBZBZBZZZZ BZBZBZBZBZZZ
6) Slow, steady vibrations
7) A slightly stronger version of #3
8) b bz Bz BZ BZZZZ
9) Medium strength solid vibrations
10) BZZ BZZ BZZ BZZ BZBZBZBZBZBZBZBZBZB

While this toy IS super weak, it's also very quiet. It can't be heard through a door or over the shower, and in most situations it won't be heard across the room. It's also waterproof, and so is a good bath and shower companion, especially since you can immediately wash the stench off of your skin after play.

The motor is located in the middle-front of the toy. While it does vibrate the handle, it's not strong enough (even at the tip) to numb the fingers of most people. The vibrations, what little you get, do transfer well to the pinpoint tip of the toy.

Unless you're super sensitive or want something that can ONLY be used for teasing, this isn't for you. I'm a sensitive girl, especially clitorally, and even I found myself wishing I could bump it up higher for a 'finishing blow.'

Care and Maintenance

In theory this toy should be very easy to clean and care for. It's not much of a lint magnet, so especially if you keep it in the case it should only need washing after each use. You can wash this toy with an antibacterial toy cleaner, soap and water, or use a toy wipe. There aren't any areas that are tough to clean, even the finger ridges are easy to soap up and rub down.

You also can disinfect this toy with a 10% bleach solution. This should be done every time you switch users or orifices, even if you're just going from external anal use to vaginal teasing. It will prevent the spread of bacteria and infection.

The hardest part about this toy is that you HAVE to store it in the case or it gets everything around it smelly. You should avoid using silicone based lube with this toy, as the two materials could react. You also should not store it in contact with other silicone toys for the same reason, or frankly any toys you don't want to smell bad the next day.

Packaging

The packaging for this toy is also very nice. In consists of a sleeve that goes over the main box, and then just the re-closable storage box. If it weren't for what it held inside (and the scent) it would make for a super awesome presentation.

The sleeve that goes around the outside of the box is made of thin cardboard. The front has the name of the toy, the brand, and an image of the toy. The back has some bullet points highlighting the features of the toy and some very basic information. Instructions for use can be found inside of the slip.

For the box itself, it almost looks like a sunglasses case. It's made of leather/faux leather and cardboard, and closes magnetically. If you leave this out it's 100% impossible to tell that there's a sex toy inside of it.

This is ideal for storage, but does take up a bit more room than the toy itself. You can also take out the plastic insert inside and store nick nacks in there. It would be super classy and nice to wrap up and give as a gift, if only the toy wasn't so lame.

Experience

I got this as my monthly assignment even though I wasn't super stoked about it. The Love Candy line seemed to be pretty nice, and I thought it was a nice design, especially to 'ride' on, so I bit the bullet. I really should have passed.

The first thing I noticed when I got this toy was the nice packaging. It was classy, had minimal trash, and was great for storage. The second thing I noticed when I opened it was the smell. It smelled like fish that had been dipped in bleach, which is not something I wanted to get off with.

Determined to try this anyways, it was an expensive assignment after all, I put in two batteries... to find that it was weaker than my $10 bargain bullets. I am not a power queen by far, and usually 3 vroom toys are perfect because I can start on super low and work my way up... but this toy just didn't have anything to work up to.

I really can't recommend this to anyone in good conscience. While some people might like it and find it a good addition to their toy box, they could get two toys that were more useful for the same price. Even though it's weak and smelly, I am still giving this toy 2 stars because it's made of silicone, has several neat patterns, and is waterproof.
