The Lelo Nea is made of scent-free, phthalate-free ABS hard plastic that resembles fine porcelains. She is completely smooth and has a beautiful glass-like shine that could easily be mistaken for a knickknack if placed out in the open. The smooth plastic glides easily over your body with minimal or no lube and the material carries the vibrations well.

Nea has a sleek design concept that allows the user to cradle her in the palm of your hand for use, much like the mouse for your computer, but with a slightly angled tip to curve over your pubic bone and sit neatly on the clitoris. She is quite small, at approximately 3 x 1 inches, I do feel that she could easily slip out of grasp if too much lube were to get on her or your hands. It may have been a nice touch if the sides had textured plastic or silicone to help with gripping.

Nea's vibrations can be felt throughout the entire toy, but are more concentrated at the tip, where it sits over the clitoris. This is nice because I was even able to turn the toy backwards and put some vibrations over my labia as well. The vibrations, even on high speed where pretty quiet. No one outside of the room is going to know you are using a vibrator, and on some settings, no one IN the room may know either!
She has 5 stimulation modes which you are able to change using one of her two buttons. The + button if held down will turn Nea on, and then up. By pressing again you will access the pulsation patterns, which start as a soft flutter and go up to a fast and steady pulse. The - button will decrease the speed or step back a pulsation pattern. If held down, Nea will shut off. It does take me a minute to get her to shut off which means in an emergency, you may not get her shut off right away.

Also, because the buttons to change speed and vibration pattern are located on the bottom, you have to lift her up to make changes which is not fun when things are getting hot and you don't want to lose sensation.
Performance is where I felt really disappointed in Nea. If you have ever watched a movie you were really looking forward to, only to find that you already seen all the good parts in the trailer, you can understand how I felt using Nea. She is beautiful, she is rechargeable, she is expensive, and for that I felt her vibrations should definitely out-perform my $10 bullet, but it wasn't even close. While the vibrations were enough to get me turned-on, they came nowhere close to putting me over the edge.

Because she is plastic, Nea can be used with either your favorite water or silicone based lube. She can be easily cleaned with a 10% bleach solution or simple soap and water, but be mindful not to get water near the buttons as she is not waterproof. Charging Nea is super easy, she is connected to a jack-pin and must charge two hours prior to use (she cannot be used during charging), but the charge does last for 7 hours. Also, Lelo was clever enough to make the LED buttons glow red when battery life is low, so you know when to charge. She stores away nicely in the box she came in or the silky pouch that is provided.

Nea arrives in a discreet but classy looking black box with only the Lelo label showing. I felt like an excited kid opening the package, even though I knew what would be inside. She comes with a one year warranty and instruction manual in several languages that is easy to read, although the print is a bit small. Nestled in are the Nea herself and her charger. The box itself would make a great box to store her in or use to package other items as she also comes with a silky pouch for those who prefer pouch storage.
