Ben wa balls by Doc Johnson

These Ben-Wa balls come in a little plastic case that has a "velvet" covered plastic holder nestled inside. Just to forewarn any potential buyers, the case has no closure on it and the lid comes off pretty easily. As anyone with pets knows, this can be a bad combination! So (after I found the ball that my cats stole and washed it off), I was ready to start playing.

I have to admit, I was really excited to try the Ben-Wa balls when this package came in the mail. I found a nice user's guide online prior to using them, and I had heard great things about how they felt during sex and also as a solo-toy. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed on both of these accounts.

First, I tried them out by my self. These marble sized metal balls were very easy to slip in, of course, but after that - the ease ended. The guide I found had some suggestions about how to best use this sex toy, so I began trying some of them. The first one suggested I lie on my back and try to swing my body back and forth to make the balls click and roll around together. This did create an interesting sensation, very subtle and different then anything else I'd tried. The guide also suggested using these to develop the sensitivity of the vaginal wall as well. But if you were looking for more focused and intense experience, I would not recommend this product.

Next, I tried these out with my partner. At first he was just as excited at the prospect of new sensations as I was, but the Ben-Wa balls seemed to get more in the way then adding anything much to the experience. Eventually we just gave up using them. They're also sort of painful when he went in really deep because they push right up against some very sensitive areas, like the cervix. We have a tendency to get pretty rambunctious, and that can be a problem when you have some extra equipment rattling around in there.

The last thing that the suggestion guide listed was the use of Ben-Wa balls for Kegel muscle (the muscles on the floor of the pelvis, or what contracts as part of a female orgasm) exercise. This was the most useful and gratifying thing I tried with them. It really was a challenge keeping them in while going about my normal daily activities. A ++ for this way to use the Ben-Wa balls!

As a sex toy, I would rate this product 1 or maybe 2 stars out of 5. It did not give me powerful sensations in solo play, and really just got in the way in partner play. Overall, though, I would rate this product 3 out of 5 stars, because of the coolness of the Kegel muscle exercise it can give. But if you going to buy them for much else, I would keep shopping.
