Blink and Buzz

A blinking, rattly, industrial kitchen mixer from outer space! Oh wait, it's just a poorly designed vibrator. We're all safe!

Pros
Decently strong.

Use

The Lighted Wand is a larger take on the ubiquitous hard plastic vibe. It is not terribly subtle or quiet, so I wouldn't suggest it around thin walls or snoopy house guests, and would keep it hidden away from inquisitive children. It could be used on any area of the body, but is a bit cumbersome for nipple stimulation and other finer uses. It seems to be designed for vaginal insertion, and by virtue of how much vibration it kicks back into my hand, I would say it would irritate the arm for most external uses. The vibe does have a smooth texture to compliment its girth. It does not have a flared base, and is thus unsuitable for anal insertion, though it could be used for external stimulation if your joints are not easily disturbed by vibration.

Material / Texture

The Lighted Wand is made of smooth plastic, which is relatively safe and easy to clean, but sharing this toy would not be recommended. It can be cleaned with soap and warm water, or a toy cleaner. Use caution around the battery cap while cleaning because it is definitely not water tight. The plastic has no noticeable smell or taste to me.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Lighted Wand is fairly basic in form over the shaft of the toy, plain smooth hard plastic. The one that I received is translucent blue with a whitish interior and small light bulb visible in the tip. Removing the battery cap, you will find a plastic holder for the two double AA's needed to power it. I found this useful because there is no need to shake both batteries out of the toy to change them. Closing the cap, there is a small metal tab that lines up with a black arrow to find the correct position to close it. From here, you turn clockwise to one of two marks, the first being "PV" meaning pulsing vibration, and second being "V" for a steady vibration. Once set to one of these marks, turning the dial base will either produce stronger vibration of stronger more frequent pulses. The light in the tip of the toy corresponds to the operation of the vibrator. It either blinks with each pulse, or dims as the toy is turned lower.

The toy is a bit on the larger size, but not huge. If you prefer smaller toys, this will likely be too girthy. Likewise, if you like a lot of fullness, this will probably not be very satisfying for you.

While decently strong, the vibrations of the Lighted Wand are also very loud, especially on the highest setting. The size and volume of this toy would not make it well suited to travel in my opinion.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls of this toy are very easy to use, as long as you don't want to switch between steady vibes and pulses while playing and have to ticker with the battery cap to do so. The dial base moves very easily and may be accidentally shifted from the right speed at the wrong moment. The single pulse pattern doesn't do much for me, at a low setting it is very sluggish, and at the higher speeds it's just uninspired. The vibrations are strongest in the third of the toy towards the tip, however they rattle rather badly back into the wrist and arm. I set this toy on my couch, turned not quite all the way up, and my boyfriend said it was vibrating him sitting at the other end. It is strong, just not very kind on the hand. It doesn't go through batteries too rapidly, but then I can't say that isn't just because I don't have enough interest in it to use it that much.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is hard plastic. It is not porous, but a condom should be use if you share it with anyone. It can be cleaned with commercial toy cleaner, isopropyl alcohol, or soap and warm water, provided you avoid getting the battery cap wet while washing. The smooth texture makes it easier to wash. You can use water based, silicone, or oil based lube with plastic toys. This toy is easy to store. It does not come with a package that can be used for storage, but it is fine kept in a plastic bag, a toy bag, box, or whatever works best for you. I store my toys in cotton bandanas to keep different materials separated and prevent any moisture from becoming trapped on a toy in storage.

Packaging

The toy came in a sort of clamshell like plastic package that popped open, and it is not suitable for storing the toy. There were no explicit images, but the wording would make it not very discreet.

Experience

I found this toy pretty lack luster. I was curious about the light and pulsation because I'm a sucker for things that light up, and have a thing for pulsey toys. The pulse pattern was a letdown, and for me, the toy has no middle ground between not strong enough and numbing/uncomfortable, and did I mention it's *loud*?
