Use

The Sphere is a rabbit style vibrator made for simultaneous stimulation of the G-spot and clitoris, but don’t think this is restricted to women only. Due to the flexibility of the ‘clitoral arm’ it could also be used to stimulate a male’s testicles while inserted anally.

The size makes this great for beginners, but the more advanced users will find some love for the Sphere as well. This toy is great for solo play, but can also be used by couples for some added fun.

Material / Texture

The shaft and clitoral arm of the Sphere are made of silicone and are velvety and soft to the touch. The base, where the controls are found, is made of hard plastic. This silicone is hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous (remember, sharing is caring) and phthalates free. With the exception of the ridges where the ball sits on the shaft and clitoral arm there is no texture, just smooth pleasure. All of this means it is super easy to care for and easy to clean. Just remember that using a silicone lubricant is a no-no. If you want keep this vibe around for a while, water based is best! There is no smell to this vibe, and I’m sorry to report this, but I didn’t taste it.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The total length of the Sphere is 7 ½ inches. Of this 4 3/4” inches are insertable. The shaft is 5” long and 1” in diameter. The bottom of the shaft is quite rigid, but the top is flexible and slightly curved to help stimulate the g-spot. The space between the shaft and the almost 2” clitoral arm is only about ¼”, however the entire clitoral arm is flexible, so it can be moved closer or further from the shaft to accommodate your anatomy. Unfortunately, there is no permanent adjustment, so there is no way to make the arm stay in place short of holding it there. Sat atop both the shaft and the clitoral arm is a ball, hence the name Sphere, that provides a comfortable stimulation to both the G-spot and clitoris. With a 2” long and 2” inch wide oval base the Sphere is easily moved, however the shape and small size make it hard to hold onto while thrusting.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Sphere is powered by two AAA batteries. The batteries are easily inserted and removed by twisting off the base. The controls are also located on the base. The bottom control is an on/off button, turning on the vibe and turning it off, and the top control cycles through the 10 vibration patterns that range from steady vibrations increasing in intensity to pulses and rumbly vibrations.

The vibrations are concentrated in the tips of the shaft and clitoral arm, but are almost unfelt in length of the shaft. Even in the tips the vibrations are not especially strong, and are best suited to those who do not need strong vibrations to orgasm or as a warm up or teaser for more advanced users and those that need stronger vibes.

The Sphere is fairly quiet. While I wouldn’t say that it is ‘whisper quiet’ no one is going to hear you using this one behind a closed door. The sound is neither muffled nor amplified when pressure is applied to any part of the vibe.

If you are on the hunt for a shower mate, you may have found your match because the Sphere is also waterproof. Personally I wouldn’t submerge it for an extended amount of time; however for a short time it should cause no issues.

Care and Maintenance

The Sphere is easily maintained because of the silicone it is made of. Again no silicone based lubes should be used so you don’t damage the vibe. Warm water and antibacterial soap can be used to clean the toy. The only area that causes any issue when cleaning is the small flare and ridge where the ball sits on both the shaft and clitoral arm, so special attention should be shown to these areas.

The Sphere comes with a light purple storage pouch perfect for storing it. If you choose not to use this bag be sure to keep it away from other silicone toys to prevent damage.

Packaging

The Sphere comes to you in a clam shell type case inside of a sleeve. The sleeve is decorated in a retro type style which is really cute, but my word it was frustrating at first! I had to admit this, but I couldn't figure out how to get the clam shell out of the sleeve. I tried for at least 3 minutes pushing and pulling from both ends and then I simply gave up and used something else. The other day I was determined to get the Sphere open so I took it out and gave it a good looking over. I kind of feel silly admitting this, but there are two small square pieces at the bottom of the sleeve that you simply push in and it frees the clam shell. Even though I felt silly, I was stoked to finally be able to give this vibe a go!

Personal comments

I ordered both the Sphere and Mood Passionate within days of each other, mostly because they were on sale (hooray for Eden Friends!) I realized after ordering the Sphere that they are almost the exact same toy, but have different ends. Once they were both here I also realized that the Mood Passionate has a slightly longer clitoral arm. Due to this subtle difference the Sphere worked for me in a way Mood Passionate didn't. I was unaware until now that such similar toys could have such a difference when used.

Fab review! I look forward to hearing about Mood. I like the color of it better. Lol. Seems a brighter pink and I am crazy enough to go for the prettier color in situations where the vibrators are so similar! Lol. They both sound and look like a fantastic size and all. I wish the vibrations were better For some reason Mood looks better for G-spotting? Maybe it's the tip that gives me that impression. Anyways, great review! Now you have me debating on which of these I want. Ha Ha

I was tempted to get the Sphere, but changed my mind at the last minute, and of course the special is over now. I think it might have actually fit me, but the weak vibrations probably wouldn't have worked out.

Thanks! Kendra, Mood was better for g-spotting, but Sphere rocks for clit stimulation, which I prefer most of the time.
