Delightful & Rumbly = My New Best Friend

This has quickly become my favorite vibrator and my old traditional rabbit will be retired for good in the near future. The clitoral stimulation does not line up properly on me, but it is still the toy I go for the most. All in all, I am still happy I purchased this, and I would again even now that I know that it did not fit perfectly with my body type.
Published: December 23, 2011
Pros:
Strong rumbly vibrations on the shaft.

Waterproof.

Rechargeable.
Cons:
Clitoral stimulation will not line up on all body types.

No Patterned vibrations.

Use

The Jopen Vr6 is a beautifully designed vibrator that has easy to use controls. Its primary use is for G-spot and clitoral stimulation. You can use the clitoral arm to stimulate the perineum if you rotate the vibrator after penetration. The clitoral “thumb” will not fit every body type but is designed so that is should fit a large range.

It is ideal for solo or couples play anywhere, including the bathtub.

Material / Texture

The Vr6 is made out of silicone. It is smooth and silky to the touch which made me want to run my hands all over it right when I took it out of the box. My usual water-based lubricant did not stick well to the surface, so I would recommend a thicker water-based lubricant (I used a gel based product). The silicone did not have a taste or a noticeable smell.

The Vr6 is very firm and there is not much flexibility even on the clitoral arm.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Silky

Design / Shape / Size

The Vr-6 is designed with a curved, thick, bulbous topped shaft for G-spot stimulation and a thumb shaped clitoral arm. To the eye the Vr6 looks like an incredible piece of art. I fell in love with the way it looked and was so impatient waiting for it to be delivered so I could give it a try. Due to the curved thick shape it might not fit every body type.

I have a plus size build and the shaft was perfect but the clitoral "thumb" just wasn't high enough for me. For some it will be a perfect fit. I am able to work around this. I am not yet able to orgasm from G-spot stimulation alone, so when I feel like I am ready I pull the shaft out slightly so it is not penetrated as deep which allows me to move the "thumb" high enough to reach my clit. It is a delightful and fulfilling toy for me.
    • Ergonomic
    • Whimsical / artistic

Functions / Performance / Controls

When reading reviews of the Jopen line before purchasing, I thought they all came charged. Well, I opening it up all hot and bothered thinking I could try it out. This model did not come charged so expect to plug it in first thing. There is a tiny hole on the back of the vibrator that a charging pin inserts into. It will light up red when charging, and the light will go out when fully charged. It took about 3 hours for mine.

The front of the vibrator has two silicone covered buttons. The one closest to the shaft controls the vibrations on the shaft (deep and rumbly), and the button closest to the end of the vibrator is for the clitoral vibrations (more traditional buzzy). This vibrator has a travel lock which you might need to unlock when you first get it. To unlock or lock, hold both buttons down for 4-5 seconds. The buttons work different than vibrators I have used in the past. When you press the button it turns on the vibration and you hold it down to increase the intensity. If you press it again it turns it off, so remember to hold it down so you don't kill the mood.

That's it. It is very simple to control.
    • Easy to use
    • Powerful
    • Rechargeable

Care and Maintenance

The Vr6 is made of silicone. It is non porous and phthalate free. It can be cleaned with toy wipes or traditional antibacterial soap and water. Do NOT boil this toy due to the motors and batteries inside. I would suggest drying and storing in the drawstring bag immediately after cleaning as the silicone will attract pet hair.

Use only water based lubricants on this toy. Lubricants containing silicone will ruin your silicone toys and no one wants to be without their toys! Your best bet is to use the soft storage pouch included in the box.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Vr6 comes packaged in a white box that looks discreet from the top and has a picture of the vibrator on the back. When you open the box there is a translucent sheet with some descriptive words for the Jopen line. Underneath this is the vibrator sitting in a cutout. Once you remove the vibrator and cutout you will find an instruction book for the Jopen line, charging cable, and a nice black drawstring storage bag.
    • Recyclable
    • Storage bag

Experience

My first experience with this toy was uncomfortable and frustrating. I bought a thicker water-based gel lubricant for my next encounter and all the discomfort has went away. Now it is all pleasure from those unique rumbly internal vibrations.

I have used this in the bath and it has been relaxing and fun. I look forward to getting to know the Vr6 a little better!
Follow-up commentary
I love this vibrator. Mine stopped charging after a while and was under warranty so I upgraded to the Jopen Vanity Vr12. I miss the Vr6 and will be repurchasing again soon for my collection as nothing else does the job like this one does.

Awesome review, so thorough. I've been thinking about saving up for this or a similar vibe, are there any jopen ones with an actual rotating shaft? Or just vibrating?

@LaLaLouise - The Jopen Vr 10, 11 and 12 list rotating shafts in the manufacturer specs. I was looking at those as well but at the time I had a hard time justifying the cost to myself. I was really afraid i would spend all that money and hate it. In the end my wallet said no and my brain must have been daydreaming as it continued to checkout my cart! Now that I love the Vr 6 I feel better saving up for a higher model in the line.

Thank you all for your feedback.

  • Cheaper "trial" versions of Jopen Vanity vibrators (especially Vr6)
    • I feel like I have never met the right rabbit-style vibe, but I'm always drawn to them. It's the whole having your cake and eating it too thing, and not having to "manage" two toys at once.

I have a huge crush on the Jopen Vanity Vr6 (though I'm open to the possibility of other crushes/matings.) BUT ... like many, I can't afford to pay $150-ish for a total gamble.

I know what materials, level of throbbiness, and so on I like in a vibrator, and it seems like the real "gamble" part, especially with rabbit-style vibes, is the general "fit" of vibrator to each person's body. So, after staring at the Vr6 for a couple of weeks and realizing that my lust is not in fact causing the price to drop, I had an idea.

It occurred to me to try to find out what cheaper vibes have similar measurements, get those and try them out, and THEN save up for the Jopens.

So, in that spirit, I'm wondering--anyone out there have a Vr6 and a similar yet more reasonably priced rabbit vibe that they think might offer a good trial run for the Vr6?

Here's my specific example: Lucid Dream no. 12 by Doc Johnson is clearly different from the Vr6 in terms of smushiness, material, power, controls, etc. But I suspect that the fit might be similar enough that I could at least extrapolate and have a better sense of whether I want to check out the Vr6.

Can anyone confirm that that's true (or not)? Or suggest a different comparison model for the Vr6?

And ... since I'm still pretty open to suggestions, and I'd imagine that other people might be considering similar issues, does anyone else have "pairing" ideas along these lines? Like "if you think you might like [insert $$$$ vibe name here], the [insert $ vibe name here] has a similar fit to it, even though the features aren't the same."

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Hmmm...if I recall correctly the Budding Bliss fits very similarly to the way my Vr6 does but it's not exactly the same fit. The attachment arm on both of them hits about the same on me where it hits my clit but not exactly where I would want it to. Budding Bliss is only slightly cheaper than the Vr6 though, so for all that you might as well get the Jopen because Budding Bliss was pretty meh. Other than that one similar one, the Vr6 fits me differently than most rabbits have. It doesn't even fit the same as the Vr3.

I do have measurements of the lengths between all the arms in my review. Somewhere, and I forget the name of it, there's a build a rabbit attachment you can get. If you get that and replicate the measurements in the review - voila! Vr6. I think that is sold under vibrator kits if you want to try to find it.

I saw your review -- that was so helpful! I considered getting out a ruler and a hand mirror and trying to match those measurements to my anatomy. And then I was tempted to try to recreate the Vr6 with duct tape or something. If it comes to it, I'll probably do ... not quite the duct tape thing, but some kind of strange replication experiment.

I'll check out the build-a-rabbit attachment. I hadn't seen that before. And it sounds easier than the replication experiment.

      Thank you!!

  • Jopen Comparison

I have the Vr6 and Vr3. The Vr3 I'm very happy with. Its shape is ergonomic and, as all of the vibrators in the Vanity line are, it's very, very powerful for a rechargeable. Think 50% to 75% more powerful than the LELO line. I personally have found the shape of the Vr6 does not work for me at all, however, from reading reviews, it obviously works well for others, so take this with as many grains of salt as you would like. I can just tell you why it didn't work for me.

I was looking for a vibrator that would be like the LELO Ina, but more powerful and with independently controlled g-spot and clitoral arms. I thought I wanted the the clitoral arm to be stiffer than Ina, as I like a lot of pressure. However, it turned out to be a case of "be careful what you wish for." The clitoral arm is very stiff and inflexible. If I placed it over my clit, it was like a clamp on my pubic bone. I tried using it by only inserting it till the g-spot hump was just inside but apparently my g-spot is deep and this was not enough to stimulate it. Also, using it this way, with the external arm touching my clit like the tip of a finger, was uncomfortable because it was too... pointy. I guess I like flat pressure and that is why the Vr3 works so well for me: it has a flat pad on the clit arm. Again, let me reiterate that this is all my own very specific personal preference and your mileage may vary greatly.

Also, my Vr6 broke today! I'm sure it's my fault though. I was stretching the clitoral arm somewhat aggressively to try to make it more flexible (I don't even know why was doing this as I wasn't even "using" it at the time) and the silicone snapped. Now I would still say the Vanity line is a well-constructed, luxury line of vibrators; maybe not quite up to LELO's construction, but well made nonetheless. Still, I will definitely be more careful with my Vr3.

Another thing I'd like to point out is that the Vr3 and Vr6 are pretty different. I can't speak for other models in the line but I would assume this is the case with those as well, seeing how the Vr7 and Vr10 are more traditional rabbits and a very different style of vibe. The clit arm of the Vr3 is very flexible and even the g-spot arm is a little flexible at the neck. This is in complete contrast with the Vr6, where the necks of both arms are pretty rigid. As a reference point, I would say the Vr3 provides the same amount of pressure, or maybe even a little less pressure, than the Ina.

I hope my experience with these two vibes will help you, and possibly others who stumble across this, make a decision as to what will work best for you. Again, this is just one person's experience so take it for what it's worth. I keep telling myself I'll write an ultimate luxury rabbit smackdown (i.e. comparison guide) between the Vr3, Vr6, Ina, and Soraya but just haven't found the time. Hopefully someday though. I hope my experience with the Vr6 doesn't necessarily turn anyone off to the Vanity line. I couldn't be happier with the Vr3 (which I won from Eden Cafe, by the way) and, again, I would like to say that the line is well-constructed; just don't be too rough with it.

Here's a picture of the where the Vr6 broke (I hope I'm doing this right):
