This toy was definitely designed
To be honest, I ordered the Desi because I was too impatient to keep waiting for
Smart Balls to come back in stock. Smart Balls, because they are so beloved, have been out-of-stock for a bit, and reading the reviews made me want one now. So I looked into the other options, but I knew that I wanted something inexpensive, easy-to-clean (and string-less), and connected. When I saw the Desi, I knew that this was what I was looking for.
Now, I did have my doubts: Although the Desi is chiefly silicone, the balls--which peek through--are plastic. Would the heart designs be uncomfortable? Would that silly-looking tail be uncomfortable? Would the toy just be impossible to clean? (hint: no, no, no.)
The Desi arrived in a pretty pink cardboard box, and I particularly enjoyed this quote: "... you will never forget about your secret place the whole time they are there."
My absolute first reaction was slight disappointment--I ordered the pink and received the purple Desi. I thought briefly about returning the item, but I was too impatient. Soon after, the sexy factor took over, and I could not wait to get it cleaned up and start playing!
I cleaned the toy thoroughly with soap and water, taking the plastic balls out of the silicone (the silicone part can be cleaned by boiling/putting it in the dishwasher top shelf with no soap/wiped down with 10% bleach solution). I was pleased to note that I didn't need lube (water-based only!) and that the sensation upon inserting the first ball was quite enjoyable. I played with that ball for a moment before inserting the second one. Then I jumped and walked around, to see how it felt. I felt immediately inspired to grab my travel-size
I Rub My Fishie and play with both. Provided I kept moving, the inner balls felt amazing against me--and moving only made the experience sexier!
When I finally got up, I wore it for the next several hours around my house. The balls were completely silent, and the (surprising strong) rumbling felt good enough that I felt very happy without feeling uncomfortable.
The current "actual-size" picture is on an angle, but these balls are very similar in size to the actual-size picture for Smart Balls. The silicone tail is 2.5" long or so. It doesn't bother me, but I'm also a Diva Cup user who hasn't cut the stem off her cup. (TMI?) At its biggest, the tail is about 2.5cm in circumference, and the knob is about 3cm in circumference. The balls (in silicone) are a little over 4.5" in circumference--one is slightly bigger.
One positive feature of the
Desi Love Balls is that you can insert one of the plastic balls separately. This was even more fun for my Kegels, because the ball was smaller and not attached to anything. I would not recommend inserting the bigger one sans silicone, though, because it has two small holes at the top.
This toy makes me feel incredibly sexy, and I'm glad that I bought it.
Oh, and just a bit of advice, woman-to-woman. When you are cleaning these, and the balls are out, and the silicone part is filled with water? Don't squeeze it. You will need a dry shirt.
Aw this toy looks so cute!
Putting the balls back in hint: turn the silicone part inside out.
Oh, and the tail is very flexible. It's big, compared to strings, but it doesn't bother me.
Both balls are about 4.25" around the middle (latitudinally) , but one (the one I've been referring to as the bigger one) is a little bit over 4.75" around the seam from top to bottom (longitudinally) and the other is a bit under. This is because of a little cone/nub on the top of one of the balls, which seems to be to help align the ball in place after cleaning (which makes me think it's supposed to be the lower ball). So, they don't really have a noticeable difference; it just made describing them easier. (On the other hand, the nub seems meant to line up with the connecting piece of silicone, but could be placed at the bottom, if that was desired.)
They are interchangeable--and more interestingly, because they pop out completely, you can experiment to find exactly what you want. You could put the balls back in sideways. You could put cold round/oval objects in instead of the balls. I'm sure a more creative mind could come up with plenty more possibilities.
Interesting that the balls are two different sizes, I couldn't really see that in the pictures. Are they interchangable? Nice review!
Interesting... which ball is bigger, the top or bottom one?
Also, did the tail move around and such, or is it flexible enough to just sit against the body under clothing?
Absolutely wonderful review--thorough and very entertaining! Thanks!
Doesn't it look a little bit like three-dimensional eyeglasses that a lovesick caterpillar would wear? No?
But seriously, it is a very cute toy. The hearts do make it less threatening, too (though I do wish that the toy was designed so that only silicone touched skin).
Sounds like a nice new toy and it's absolutely adorable too!
Oh, I don't blame you! Part of me would still be hoping for Smart Balls, except I try to get as much use out of what I have before buying replacement-y items. (Unfortunately, or I would be investing in a much sexier set of cuffs now, rather than waiting for my silly pink things to wear out.) And I'm also dreadfully impatient. I'm just glad that these worked out!
That last part made me giggle.
I'm a Smart Balls fan through and through, but glad you had such a good experience with this!
I'm not sure why the bee is showing up as five stars on the product page--this toy is silent, so the bee is N/A.
