Designed for Women by Women -- Really?

They tell me that this toy was designed for women by women -- I wonder what woman helped design this. The overall shape is awkward and makes inserting this nearly impossible. The vibrations are okay, but they're really not that strong. All in all, this is an okay toy -- it's just not one that I would grab for often.

Use

Twisted Hearts is an adorable vibrator that will look cute in just about any toy box -- but is she functional? For me, the answer is ..eh, sort of. Truth be told, I keep Twisted Hearts around because I think she's cute, but I never find myself reaching for her.

That said, there are many different ways that you could use the Twisted Hearts seduction vibrator. She can easily be used in both solo, and couples' play.

You could use Twisted Hearts as a clitoral vibrator. Her large, rounded head feels comfortable against one's clit, and provides fairly strong vibrations. You don't have to use just the head, however, as the little nubs on the side can provide clitoral stimulation as well. Simply hold one of the nubs against your clit for lighter vibrations. Using the nubs for clitoral stimulation was more like a teaser for me, whereas using the head brought me to a very light orgasm.

I guess you could use her vaginally, if you're a size queen. I can tell you that when I tried to insert her, it just was not happening -- but then I'm not a size queen. If you do manage to insert her, I don't see her being a good toy for thrusting. This is due to the two nubs, and also just because she is a fairly small (in length) toy. You could perhaps rock her in you, or simply lay back and enjoy the vibrations and the fullness that she would surely provide.

You can also use Twisted Hearts as a massager or teaser. Rub her against her nibbles, aching muscles, your neck, whatever sensitive spots you have, and she's sure to make you feel good. Using her as a massager or teaser toy is one of my favorite ways to use her, when I do reach for her.

As far as anal goes... I just can't see using Twisted Hearts anally, and so I haven't tried. First of all, she has a lot of girth to her. Secondly, the nubs would be fairly uncomfortable, if not painful. Thirdly, if you do manage to get her in your bum, there's no flared base, so it wouldn't be safe.

Material / Texture

Twisted Hearts is made out of TPR (with the white ring being a hard plastic). TPR rates as a 7 on Eden Fantasy's safety scale, so it's pretty safe. It is hypo-allergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. It is also slightly porous, so it cannot be disinfected. Due to the porous nature of the toy, it's recommended to use a condom with it if you plan on sharing it -- unfortunately the nubs make it difficult to use a condom with.

The TPR is smooth, though the toy does have a slight drag to it. Surprisingly, the drag on this toy does not bother me. What does bother me, however, is the fact that this toy is a MAJOR lint magnet -- but I guess that's to be expected from TPR toys.

The body of this toy is firm and rigid. The head of the toy has a slight "plush" feeling to it, while still being firm. The two nubs, on the other hand, are slightly "squishy" and extremely flexible.

Those of you that are concerned with smell and taste? There is a slight rubbery smell to this toy, however it's not an overwhelming smell, and it has faded quickly. The taste, however, is still rubbery -- even after washing the toy many times.

Design / Shape / Size

Okay -- they say that this toy is designed for women, by women... but seriously? The nubs are a definite design flaw, in my opinion. They just don't seem to be very functional to me -- though they are visually appealing.

Anyway. If you plan to use this as a clitoral vibrator, then I would recommend it for beginners, as well as advanced users. Now if you want a vibrator that you can insert -- I'd recommend this only to really, really advanced users, due to the girth.

This toy is a 5 1/2" in length, so it's not too long. I have heard that some people can get the first 1 1/2" of it inside of them without trouble, but for me it was just too painful (and honestly? I didn't really see the point in putting just 1 1/2" in me). The toy is girthy, as I have mentioned already -- it is 5 1/4" in circumference. It's also fairly heavy for such a small vibrator, weighing half a pound.

Small as it is, this toy is easy to hide and to travel with -- but it's not discreet. It's pretty clear by looking at it that it is, in fact, a vibrator.

Functions / Performance / Controls

To use this toy, you will need two AAA batteries. Simply unscrew the cap to insert the batteries, then screw the cap back on. For me, inserting the batteries was easy, as the way they must be inserted was clearly indicated. I have, however, read some reviews that said that theirs did not come with the battery directions marked.

Once the batteries are in, turn the dial to turn the vibrator on, and to increase the speed of vibration. Personally, I would have preferred a push button, but the turn dial on this one works pretty well.

There are three clear variations in vibration speed, all of which are strongest at the head of the toy. As you increase in vibration, the toy gets louder. This is not an extremely loud toy, but you will be able to her through the covers.

Twisted Hearts is waterproof, and preforms very well in the water.

Care and Maintenance

Twisted Hearts is easy to care for. Simply wash her with a toy cleaner, or antibacterial soap and water, and you're good to go.

As for lubricants, you can use water or silicone-based lubricants. Personally, I prefer water-based lubricants.

Storing her is easy, as well. I store her in a plastic baggy in my toy box.
Follow-up commentary
In truth, this toy doesn't work anymore, but I DID still like it up until it died. You see, I left a pair of batteries in the toy. The batteries leaked and now the toy no longer works. Thankfully this wasn't one of my favorite toys.

Everyone, please remember to remove your batteries from your toys after playing.

Thanks for the review. I don't think many found this toy useful at all.

Thanks for the review. I agree the design of the toy didn't work well for me either. I found it ok as a clit vibe at least.

    • I had two of these that I hadn't used before and I got around to opening one and there was some damage to the toy. It looked partially melted coming straight out of the box as if someone had poured silicon lube on a side of it. So I went to open the other one I had and the same thing was happening to the other. My sub had one of these too and his was affected with the same thing. Could this have possible been a bad batch [we got them from when they were giving them out as free gifts with any order] Has anyone else had this problem with this toy?
    • I haven't had any problems with mine, but I have heard of a lot of people having issues with this toy.

  • Using unconventionally designed toys.
    • I appreciate being creative as much as any other toy user, but sometimes I just want unusual products to come with suggestions in the style of airplane emergency cards. Just a nice visual rundown of possible uses and positions. I have some graphic design skills, maybe that's my calling?
    • Some toys do; it really depends on the toy. I know The Cone did have some illustrations with it - as did the Joya toys. Some don't, though, but reviews are usually pretty good at talking about how they used it, and you can usually get some good ideas from those!
    • Good thought! I remember loving the little suggested use icons when I first got my Cone.

    • Has anyone tried inserting it? it is kind of huge.

I actually thought of it as non-insertable. According to the description, however, "only about an inch of the wide tip is comfortably insertable".
