Disappointing First-Time Vibe

Instead of dual-action, this vibe is at best a constant struggle between one or the other. Don't let your first vibe experience be like mine- save for something a little more substantial.

Pros
Good clit simulator, waterproof

Not really suitable for g-spot stimulation or any sort of internal use, too soft in general

Use

The best part of this vibrator was the clitoral part. It packed substantial punch and 3 good escalating speeds. The flexibility of the material, namely the insertable part, doesn't give much room for using it on other parts of the body, with either the vibration sending barely any buzz there, or having to bend it awkwardly out of the way for the butterfly.

Material / Texture

Out of the box and even after a few uses and thorough washes, the toy still has a moderate synthetic smell to it. The only bit of texturing are ridges on the body of the butterfly, which don't seem to do much as far as stimulation goes. There are also raised hearts on the outside shaft which serve as a grip for the whole toy.

Design / Shape / Size

The cutesy, "girly" aesthetic of the the Butterfly Kiss, and sex toys in general, never really appealed to me, though those kinds of things were implemented here. The butterfly as the clit stimulator is actually quite functional- the wings sort of fluttered on either side of my clit, while the antennae flicked across the glans. The hearts encircling the shaft look more decorative than anything else. Although, given that the toy is waterproof, they are probably some sort of grip. The major caveat of the whole design is definitely the "g-spot simulator". It's too soft, short, and not curved enough to properly hit my g-spot. The insertable part's size was too small for me to feel it very much at all. Being a virgin using her first vibrator, I naturally gravitated towards the least threatening insertable vibe I could find, though "non-threatening" was not a fair trade-off for disappointment.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are located directly in the butterfly shaped clit simulator, with 3 speeds. The power button also serves as a simple and accessible one-button control of the three escalating speeds. The first to the second is a good transition from milder to moderate, and the second to third is a jump from moderate to very strong (which was pleasant some times and at other times was numbing).

Care and Maintenance

Being made from TPR, the Butterfly Kiss is compatible with both silicone and water-based lubricant. It is sort of sticky and porous by nature so I wouldn't recommend storing it in any fabric bag that sheds lint. I store mine in a nylon cinch bag after cleaning it with an antibacterial toy cleanser, washcloth, and warm water.

Packaging

The packaging was neither tasteful nor discreet, being a clamshell in the telltale shape of the toy. It's especially hard to recycle or throw away if you live with parents or roommates.

Experience

Trying to work my g-spot and clit at the same time was a constant struggle forcing me to pick one or the other. Left vibrating stationary, the Butterfly Kiss was great on my clit, though nothing could be felt from the g-spot part. When trying to work my g-spot more manually by thrusting the toy up, the butterfly would always slip off my clit while the toy barely hit my g-spot, frustrating me to no end.

Follow-up commentary
I've used it a few more times, and it's still not doing it for me. After getting my first silicone toy, the TPR feels even more unpleasant and squishy. It also kills batteries pretty fast. I still say save your money for something more substantial.
