Duet, You Did Not Do It For Me...

This vibe has a lot going for it: it's silicone, rechargeable (with the awesome usb charger) and has a cool design. Ultimately though, the cons out-weighed the pros. The damn thing pinches very sensitive areas, so unless you're into that watch out! It is also just way too small to the point that it makes it hard to hold on to and operate. It also comes apart if you bend it in any way during use and lastly, it just provides buzzy, weak vibrations. So, I say approach this one with caution.

Use

I purchased this vibrator because of its unique shape. I am a huge fan of the Form 2, except I've had no luck with them as they just keep on glitching. So I have been searching in vain for a replacement and, one day I happened upon the Duet! I thought that I had finally found my new go to vibrator, alas I was mistaken.

But I'm getting ahead of myself this vibrator is meant as a clitoral stimulator. It could be used solo or by a couple. I tend to use my clitoral vibrators during sex with my hubby so I am always on the look out for something small to fit the bill.

The vibrator itself is water proof so it can be used in all sorts of fun and interesting places.

Material / Texture

The tips of the vibrator are made of body safe, non-porous silicone. The base is electroplated, nickle free metal.

The tips are velvety smooth and feels great on the body. I did have some issues with the metal base as I found it became very slick when you got lube on it, and difficult to hang on to.

The bonus of the materials though, and the fact that it's waterproof, is that it's a breeze to clean. I just clean it up with warm water and a mild soap after I'm all done.

Design / Shape / Size

What originally sold me on this vibrator was the design and shape. I was very excited about the two pronged design with dual motors in each tip.

One thing that surprised me when this arrived was the size, it was TINY! I was not expecting it to be so small. I consider myself an average sized person and I found that it was too small for my anatomy. That and it was difficult to hang on to (especially with lube, as mentioned above). Overall I just found it too small to be practical.

I guess the flipside though is that this would be easy to travel with. It's tiny and discreet so you could easily pack it up and take it on the go.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Again, I kind of found this one a bit of a pain to use just because it is so bloody small in size. The buttons that control the vibrations are located at the base of the metal portion of the vibrator. There is a plus and minus button that control the speed, and a button in the center of those two that turns the vibe on and off and changes it through it's 4 different patterns. The controls themselves are conveniently located, as they are easy to reach. I just found them hard to push when in use.

The vibrations are located in the two prongs of the vibe. Overall, I found that the vibrations were more "buzzy" than anything. I actually found them kind of annoying, rather than arousing. I did find that the toy was average as far as loudness. I think you could have heard it in the next room if it was quiet. But it's only hubby and myself so it didn't bother us.

What's neat about this vibe though is the fact that it has a usb for charging. So you just plug it in to the computer and charge it up. My hubby liked that as he's a total computer geek. It charges quickly as well and you'll be all ready to go within a few hours (I actually haven't had to charge it from scratch yet, so I'm not sure how long that would take).

As a side note, it's a good thing the vibe is so simple as there really aren't any instructions included. There is just a diagram on the inside of the package that points out the basics without going into much detail. They provide a website that you can go to to find out more information but I haven't had the chance to scope it out yet as I've been so busy. For those of us with busy lives, I find it just felt like they were adding yet another step to the process when I just wanted to be able to use the thing not have to go research how it worked first.
    • Easy to use
    • Long lasting power

Care and Maintenance

This vibe is incredibly easy to care for. As I pointed out above, you can just use mild soap and warm water to clean it. You do have to make sure you get into all the weird angles though, as those can be a bit of a pain to clean up. Since it's silicone you need to use a water based lube (personally, I use the Sliquid Organic Silk).
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Experience

I really wanted to like this toy, I really, really did. I was so excited about the design. As I said, I am a huge sucker for the Form 2 but the glitches with it have been driving me crazy so I was on the hunt for a replacement.

The day it came, hubby and I excitedly picked it up from the post office and raced home to put it to good use. As I was saying in my review I was totally surprised as to how small the vibe is. I have small hands and even then it was still on the small side.

So, we started to put this baby through all it's paces and hubby playfully touches me with it and ooww! The damn thing pinches. I couldn't believe it, we kind of stared at it and then tried it again. Same result. It pinches in just the area that you totally do not want to be pinched in (ok, at least I don't.) We tried all the 4 different patterns, at different speeds, but I kept having the damn thing pinch me.

Finally, I managed to get it to work somewhat by spreading the tips apart and shoving my finger at the base to keep them apart (that way it couldn't pinch). Then I found that I just didn't find the vibrations to do anything for me they just felt buzzy and mildly annoying.

Now, add on top of this, when I tried to angle it to get to any of the good spots while my hubby was on top I just managed to pull the base and tips apart.

Overall, this one was just an epic fail for us and we gave it a number of tries before giving up on it. Alas, Form 2, I'm back and back on the hunt for suitable replacement.
Follow-up commentary
This has become a dust collector in the bottom of our closet!

I actually had high hopes for this one, as the company sent out a new set of "tips" that were slightly wider (because they had had a lot of complaints about the vibrations being "too intense"), but, alas I still can't stand it!

We tried it out with the new set of tips and I still found it uncomfortable, and not in the least bit pleasurable. After that one trial, I tossed it into the closet and haven't looked back!

Alas...I will keep looking for the "perfect" vibrator!

Great review, sounds like you need to be an octopus to use it, plus the pinching doesn't sound too enticing.

Thanks for the review. Shame about the pinchiness, considering that's supposed to be its main feature.
