First toy ever used, therefore I think it's great!

This is the first and only toy I've bought. It is small enough to hide nearly anywhere in my room, and even though the noise is very loud, the medium setting is good enough to get you off without the noise to get you noticed. I wouldn't consider it all that exciting as its more of a tool than a toy in many aspects. It goes exactly where it needs to without being too extreme. It is great for beginners! I love it.

Pros:
Its combo design massages both g-spot and clitoris.
Cons:
It's loud. Even the clicks to turn it on and change setting is very loud.

Use

If you're like me and only a beginner, then I believe this would make a great start to your collection! I use it solo. It does a decent job of getting the job done, but there are some drawbacks. The vibrations work well on your clitoris as well as internally. You are able to use it any way you choose. You can massage your G-spot, and anus if you turn it around (if that's the type of thing you like).

Material / Texture

It smells like a rubber ball, like those things you get out of the 25 cent machines when you were a little kid. The texture accompanies the smell, as it feels exactly like you would think. Although, I was a little surprised to see some imperfections in my toy. It looked like tiny bubbles that had risen to the top in the mold and had hardened. It was minimal, but if I were to brush my finger on it, the texture is noticeably rough.

Design / Shape / Size

I'm a newbie, so I'm not aware of any drawbacks to the design. I do think the difference between the bulb of the toy and the shaft could be less severe, as it reminds me of a lollipop. The sensation when you first insert it is a little alarming, especially if you're working up to your buzz and are a little tight down there.

I live with prying roommates in an apartment with thin walls and floors, so I'm constantly forced to hide this thing. The design makes it easy to do so. I just wrap it in a towel, or hide it between my bed and the wall. The design doesn't make it very attention grabbing. I also made a conscious effort to buy the blue version of this toy so that the bright pink doesn't catch someone's eye if I were to leave it out unknowingly. You never know. I felt the higher price for the blue color was worth it considering this info.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are located toward the "butterfly" area of the toy. I sometimes had to push that area on to my clitoris for a better vibration, as the antennae of the butterfly design can make it a bit awkward to situate. I had it set on the medium setting because the low setting was nearly unnoticeable. The high setting was like a constant blast of vibration that was way to intense for me, and it was accompanied by a few LOUD buzz sounds.

The sound of this thing is very important to note! This thing makes noise. I use it solo, in my room under a blanket, and I still live in fear of my roommates and neighbors hearing it. The low setting has very little vibration and no sound. The medium setting has a slight vibration, but somewhat easy to cover up under the noise of a fan or wind. The high setting, on the other hand, has a very loud vibration that is quite noticeable. The high setting's vibration can be compared to that of my iPhone 4's silent vibe on constant. The noise level is the only reason I haven't been more tempted to use it on high.

Batteries get used up like mad on this thing. I've been working solo in the sex department for many years, and have only now bought a toy. I was amazed at how many batteries this thing goes through! Do all of the vibrators take this much batteries!? I actually had to buy a battery charger and rechargeable batteries for the sole purpose of using them in this thing! If you're not as keen to buy a charger, I warn you that this vibrator takes two AAA's every two hours of work. I use them two hours at a time, so I NEEDED a charger or my broke-girl status would be revoked due to extraneous spending on batteries for my vibrator.

Care and Maintenance

I wash it with warm water and soap. It can get crusty if you fall asleep before cleaning it off. The grossness of washing this thing off when its dry and dirty is enough for you to be more clean, as there are a lot of crevices and tiny areas that you would need to scrub out. Also, I'm always afraid of ripping off the wings or antennae of the butterfly detail while wiping off my vibrator because they're very thin.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

This thing is packaged just like how you'd get a universal remote at Radio Shack. There was also a little folded up pamphlet inside that showed you visually how to insert the batteries.
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

This is the first and only toy I've bought. Due to my newbie-ness, I have to say it's the best thing ever! It does have it's drawbacks, but when it comes down to it, it gets the job done.

  • Blue more expensive?
    • Anyone know why the blue is more expensive than the pink? They're the same, right? So why is one more expensive?
    • I've never noticed.

  • i have experiment attraction to women,,, i´m bicurious?
    • hi my name is yesenia paris,, and i´m 22 but since i was in high school i kind of have curiosity for girls,, i never like really kiss a girl or anything or i never had any female friend to experiment that, like i am very shy person and also like a lonely girl,, althought i am a very pleasant person and i good human being ,, noone seens to like me,,, but although of that matter i still feel the curiosity may because i have never been with a girl before
does that make a bisexual,a bicurious,of it just because the loneliness or the lock of friends,, like i never have a real
girl friend ,, like it´s samething that happens with boys,, you are not friends with them ,, but you like them in a different way,,, i always thing it´s because my loneliness
and the need of an another ,, girl being friends with me i also don´t have a mom to call and talk about my problems maybe it´s because of that the confusion thanks have a nice day
    • Someone made a similar post a while back, and I'll basically tell you what we told her. Don't follow stereotypes. Don't label yourself. If you are interested in girls, then you just are. If you haven't experimented with girls, personally I feel that when I liked someone it isn't based on any particular factor, it is based on the person themselves. I tell people I am bisexual, but really I think of myself as pansexual, not limiting emotion and attraction to anything. Not gender, not age, not race, not social status.

I think that sometimes people can become lonely and will "settle", making them open their views and ideas of dating up, to allow "just anyone" to enter into their lives. My boyfriend was this way, before meeting me, dating anyone who would say yes because he had no friends, and had been hurt and heartbroken so badly he just wanted to feel loved and accepted. I also have a straight friend who dated women just so she could have someone to date, but she wasn't attracted to them, although she liked to experiment and have fun, she says she is straight, but I don't give her a label.

If you ever need a friend to talk to, I am a good listener :)
    • Excellent advice Peggi and I second that. We don't need labels...we're just people. I'm a good listener too.

  • What's up with different Butterfly Kisses?
    • When I bought my Butterfly Kiss I thought there were only 2 versions - the standard and the Platinum Edition. Since I couldn't find the PE in my country I went with the regular one. I was so bent on getting it after watching Kara Sutra's review of it. She said it was TPR. I got my Butterfly Kiss. On the packaging (plastic shell with a piece of paper) it said that it's "phthalate-free" and made of TPR. I'm inclined to believe it as it didn't smell, didn't turn ugly yellow even when I had it for more than a year, didn't sting my bits (jelly does).

Now, however I see those jelly Butterfly Kisses. What's the deal? Was my vibe mis-labeled or are there more than 2 versions? I still have the paper insert from the packaging if you'd like to see it. The vibe itself looks a bit more opaque than what I see in EF catalog - it's always looked like this.

I would also ask people from EF who deal with the Review Program. Is my Butterfly Kiss same as yours (and thus qualifies for a review) or is it a different product?
    • Hi there!! California Exotic Novelties was the 1st to come out with this fantastic design. & yes we only have 2 versions, the platinum & the original. Check it out on our website link

Many other companies have tried to duplicate our product but have had no success. We are the original creators with the best product :) Hope this helps!

It's the jelly - throw it away or always use a condom. Look for better materials like silicone or VixSkin.
    • I wouldn't even use a condom...just get rid of it and stay away from the material.

  • Jelly Deformation?
    • Well I loved this little bugger and it came at a bargain so I suppose I can't complain too much. But I whipped it out for play tonight only to find that the jelly seems to have dented and deformed itself on the lovely bulbous head. I had it in a pocket next to my turbo glider and I suspect with some heat and pressure, that's the culprit that did this. It has very odd dents/suctionish things on it now.

Is this prone to happen to jelly toys? Could it have been the California summer heat? I would like to prevent this from happening in the future.

But in case people are wondering, this a toy I would glady invest in again.
    • It is my experience that jelly toys just deteriorate really fast...the heat may have sped up this process though. I do know heat can cause more phthalates to leak out of jelly. It probably just kind of melted on you a little. I would have to say you should go ahead and get a new one or better yet, find a comparible toy in silicone! Silicone can be boiled so, heat shouldn't be an issue with it at all! It always sucks when one of your favorites melts.
    • Does your house get pretty warm? I've never had that problem and I live in AZ. Was it touching the turbo glider? Sounds like a toy material interaction to me.
