Ocean - dual action vibrator discontinued by Fun Factory - review by GONE!

Fun Factory's Bimini Ocean is a toy designed for simultaneous vaginal, specifically g-spot, and clitoral stimulation. It will work best for people who don't have a lot of room between the two areas because of its size.

Many "rabbit" style toys for this purpose are large, long, and bulky. Not the Ocean! There's no huge control box on this one to get in the way and it isn't heavy or bulky in the slightest. The controls are sleekly designed and it's not too intimidating to turn away beginners or those who can't handle large toys.

People who like larger toys might still be enticed by the Ocean because of the powerful motor, lovely design, body-safe material, the fact that it's rechargeable, and that it's waterproof! This toy is great for play in the shower and bath. I've tested it, and it's true.

This toy is not for anal use. It doesn't have much of a handle to hold on to and since I wouldn't boil it despite it being made of silicone, I wouldn't feel that it could be cleaned properly enough for using it in multiple areas like that.

The dark blue, matte silicone is delightfully velvety to the touch. It doesn't have much give but is a little flexible at the swirled head. The bump on the shaft is less so because of its size and placement, so if it doesn't hit you in the right spot you won't be able to bend it against you. It's too small and rigid. You'll have to try and bend the whole toy to get it placed right.

As much as I love the color and texture of the silicone used, this toy seems to get "scuffed" easily which is weird. That's the best way I can explain it. I do like that it's less of a lint magnet than some other silicone toys I have.

As a high quality silicone (Mostly.) toy, this one is no exception in the department of smell and taste. It had neither when I first took it out of the box. It does seem to hold on to smells a little bit though, so be careful and clean it well.

The very bottom of the toy where you recharge the toy is an inch of hard, black plastic. The middle section is glossy and darker, while the two sides are lighter and dull.

The design of this toy is beautiful, and is what attracted me to it in the first place. I've always wanted a "rabbit" but was turned off by all the hot pink, cutesy, jelly toys many manufacturers sell. This one just called to me. The colors available are gorgeous, especially this shade of blue, and the way the toy looks like an ocean wave instead of a penis with a wild animal somehow stuck on the shaft is very appealing to me. The curvaceous lines and swirls of this toy are so artistic and not as hard to clean as I thought they would be. The swirl at the head and on the stimulating shaft bump are the ones that require the most extra going over, which is still not much at all. Even though it looks like you might feel the swirls and dips during use though, I really couldn't.

The curve at the head of this toy combined with the size makes it really perfect for my body and where my g-spot is located. If longer, straighter toys don't do it for you and you don't have a lot of space down below like me, it would be worth it to check this one out. I have a very shallow g-spot and this one hits it well if I hold it right.

Speaking of the size, this toy is 5 and a half inches long with about three inches being insertable. Depending on how you have to maneuver it, it could be less for you. The diameter is about 1 and 1/4". If you don't like girthy toys, this is going to be one of your best options for dual-stimulating ones. It is the perfect size for me. The only gripe I have with it is that I would like a little more length at the end where you charge it. It would be nice to have a little more to hold on to during use.

I think the swirled bump could come out a little more to make this toy really perfect. It takes a little maneuvering to get it in a good spot but the toy is still awesome. The way it is now, it's not going to work for as many bodies as a more adjustable toy would but I was fortunate that it worked well enough for me.



Now, this toy is really great for traveling with if you must bring something bigger than a bullet because it's not that big and it's rechargeable so you won't have to tote around batteries, but I don't think it's that discreet despite the gorgeous design. I can't think of anything someone could pass it off as other than a sex toy. It won't be hard to hide though!

The controls for the speed and patterns are on the body of the toy itself, on the opposite side of where the bump is. They are almost flat against the silicone and very easy to use. To turn it on, you press down the "+" button for a second. To turn it off, you press the "-" down. It's a little annoying that you have to press through all the settings down from whichever one you're using to turn it off. To get to the pulsing settings, you turn it up to the highest strength and hold the "+" button down for a second. There are three settings that pulse, all pretty high in intensity.

There are nine nonpulsing settings. The first, weakest one was of no use to me at all and I don't imagine it would be for anyone else either, but from the third one on it's quite strong! The vibrations spread out through the body of the toy and the clit bump quite well but they felt especially strong just under the bump. Now, I would've liked it to be centered more directly in it or at the head of the toy so that I could take the toy out and use the head on my clit as a second option but it's okay. The toy works perfectly in its intended use, and no toy can be perfect for everything.


I have to warn that the noise level on this toy is loud. I could hear it through blankets, though not through a closed door or thin apartment walls. It annoys me enough that I generally only use it while listening to music. If this toy was as powerful as it is while quieter, that would be amazing.

In the shower, the noise level isn't any trouble at all since the water muffles it. That brings me to the fact that the Bimini Ocean works beautifully in water. I have completely submerged it while washing it without a problem and I use it in the shower all the time. This is one of my favorite aspects of this toy.

To recharge it, you line up the two magnetic balls on the end of the charger with where it says "Fun" on the end of the toy so that the charger lights up. . Now, you have to be careful when charging it. The first time I did was a total pain. I read in the reviews on here that it would take many more hours to charge than it actually ended up needing, and the charger kept trying to escape. The light would go out with even the slightest nudge or sometimes nothing at all. Eventually I ended up taping the cord to the table I had the toy charging on just to get it to stay in place. I only had to do this the first couple of times for some reason but you might want to take note if you get one. It is nice that there is quite a bit of length to the charger's cord so that you have some freedom in where you put the toy while its charging.

I love that this toy is rechargeable, but I hate the idea that I will have to throw the whole toy out when the electronic portion finally goes dead as it cannot be replaced. You also might want to take note of this before you buy.

The charge lasts quite a long time. I've used mine for over three half-hour sessions without charging in between them before. I love that!

I clean my Bimini Ocean with antibacterial soap and water. A toy cleaning wipe would work fine but it won't clean out the deeper areas like the swirls and grooves. You really need to clean it under running water to get everything out and off. It takes a extra effort compared to some of my toys but it's worth it for the fun design. I have not tried to boil or bleach this toy as it has electronic components and a plastic end, and I wouldn't want to accidentally mess them up. If I was going to share it, I would probably just put a condom over it rather than risk ruining it with better disinfecting methods.

Since this is a silicone toy, you shouldn't use silicone-based lubes with it. The small amount of lube included with this toy is water-based.

This toy's packaging was on the elaborate side. All the components came in boxes inside a larger plastic bag.
The Ocean itself was in a plastic case inside a cardboard box with a display panel and panels closed by magnets. The charger came in its own little box. Both the charger and the toy came with folded instructions in several languages as well as a small packet of lube in the bigger box.

The packaging isn't exactly discreet since you can see the toy in the box but the design on them is quite nice. The boxes just have line drawings and photos of other toys in the Bimini line along with some descriptions of this toy. I think that the packaging would make for a nice gift even if it isn't discreet because it doesn't look tacky like some other sex toys' packaging does. It just genuinely looks fun! It's not that good for storage though, unfortunately. I still use the smaller box that the charger came in to hold it but I have since put the Bimini Ocean in my other toy box.
