Forever desired

Words can't describe how much I love this toy. It's a good size, slightly textured, powerful yet quiet. What more can you really want from a toy? I've had the Desire for over a month and a half and it's been my go-to toy ever since. If you want something that will get you off without waking anyone else up, this is definitely the toy for you!

Use

The Fleur De Lis silicone desire by Evolved Novelties has easily become my new BFF and the toy I reach for every time I want to have a little fun. It's practically silent on the first level and the power of the second level is just the right about for me. The intended use for the desire is vaginal penetration and while you can still use her externally, the body is really flexible so it's not the best at pinpoint pressure. Although this toy is able to be flexed and bent I haven't been able to stimulate my g-spot with it yet but that doesn't make me love this toy any less.

This toy can be used for couple play if your partner enjoys holding your toys for you. It makes a great start with foreplay or if you like a little dp (double penetration) with your lover and you want them to take you from behind while you use your toy vaginally. If you're not too used to dp I wouldn't advise this because this is not a really small toy and is about the size of a normal penis. I'd advise not to use this toy anally as it lacks a flared base or much to hold onto, as it just has a straight bottom. If you are going to be sharing this toy it's also advised to always use a condom or toy cover on it if you're playing with someone that you are not fluid bonded with.

Size queens might be a little disappointed with this toy as it isn't at least 8 inches and really thick, but I think the average user would find this toy quite nice and I would have loved to have this toy as a beginner. It's not an intimidating size or a phallic design so I also think it would make a great gift for someone just trying out toys or even the intermediate user.

Material / Texture

The material of the toy is a nice plush silicone that is easy to bend in the middle and hard (where the bullet is) on the tip making for easy insertion but still having the ability to move around once inserted. The silicone has a pretty good amount drag to it so I wouldn't really suggest it for trusting unless you want your arm to be worn out quickly.

Silicone rates a 10 on the safety scale, making it fully body safe but should not be used with silicone lube as it will break down the toy if both are not 100% silicone. It's non-porous, phthalates-free, and doesn't need any special treatment to stay clean or non-sticky. While it doesn’t actually feel real, it is not as hard as plastic either. What's good about this toy is that there was no smell coming out of the package and doesn't taste like anything either. Along with the toy having drag it does grab on to the skin some and picks up lint quite well.
    • Bumpy
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The toy comes in two bright colors: pink and purple. Although I'm usually not too much of a fan of those colors, the purple is not a light super girly color like some toys are. I really love the design of the Desire, I think it goes the best with the "Fleur De Lis" theme and I LOVE the darker but still semi-bright purple color it comes in. The ridges on the toy make for great texture, even for someone who doesn't like extreme texture but at the same time also wants to feel something that isn't all smooth.

The Desire measures out to be a good size at a length 7 1/4" with 6” of that being insertable and having a diameter 1 1/4". This makes it a good long size for penetration while still being small enough to slip into your bag if you're traveling somewhere. Normally I go for the small toys and this one is great in that it isn't too big for me and at the same time gives me that really full feeling that I love with toys.

Unfortunately this toy happened to have a really noticeable seam that does take away from the aesthetics of it, but you can't really feel it internally. Besides that the toy didn't have any other imperfections that I could spot. Even though the Fleur De Lis is relatively not that expensive for a nice vibrator, it does not look cheap in any way. It's one of those few things that looks EXACTLY like it does in the product pictures (minus the seam) and I was very pleased to find this out as a like my toys to look nice.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Desire is equipped with three great power settings that can be operated easily by just pushing down on the button of the toy. The button is semi-translucent silicone feeling material that is placed directly in the middle of the bottom surrounded by white plastic that can be unscrewed to get to the battery compartment.

The button is simple to push but not so easy to push that you accidentally set it off or change the level when you're not trying to. When the button is pushed it makes a little popping sound, similar to the sound made when you used to press down on the Trouble Games (Pop 'n' hop, Pop 'n' race) but not as loud. You can hear it when you both first press down on it and when you let it go. To turn the toy off unfortunately you have to scroll through all the levels but thankfully there are only three. I'm usually the kind of person that really likes different patterns but it didn't bother me at all that this one only had different levels of intensity.

The three levels are soft, medium, and strong on this toy. I'm not a fan of weak toys and personally I think the last level is too much for me most of the time. This said I think it would meet a large range of needs in the power department. All the power levels are pretty quiet and I feel comfortable using the highest setting with the door closed. Under the blanket the first level can't be heard at all, even by me being really there using it! This really is a must have toy for someone that lives at home with their parents or children or if you live in a dorm room/apartment situation. I've never had a toy so inexpensive that was so quiet before (that wasn't a really tame bullet).

Because the Desire runs off of batteries I think it is good to note that it loves to eat them like a greedy little pig. With that said it might just be because I just love this toy so much and use it at least every other day, sometimes multiple times a day. Fortunately I use rechargeable batteries but since I've had this toy I've had recharge them two times with this toy. I can't tell you how normal batteries will do because I haven't tried those yet but I plan to before I make a follow up.

To use the toy all you need is two AAA batteries. They even give you a battery case to put them that has written instructions on it explaining which way to put your batteries. This clear case is not only beneficial in keeping your batteries together and informing you which way they go in, but it's also useful in that it makes the toy more silent because it takes some of the noise from batteries rattling around when moving. The downfall in this case is that it's all made of plastic, even the tab that you use to pull it out of the toy, and that tab is being pulled forward and then pushed back down every time you take the case out. With someone like me that likes to take their batteries out every time I stop using my toy, I'm very afraid that the little tab will eventually give way and break off and it will make taking the batteries out much harder. The only advice I can give you for this is be gentle with this and don't try to yank it out fast.

Care and Maintenance

This 100% waterproof toy is great for a little shower/tub play and makes for easy washing. The cap screws on nice and easy but feels tight when you're doing it so it even feels like you're getting an air tight seal every time you use it. The clear o-ring acts as a second layer of protection against water and I've been able to submerse the toy for over an hour without any problems. In order to clean your toy all you really need to do is run it under warm water and soap and it's all good to go! What's good about silicone is that you can also spray it with anti-bacterial spray or put it in a 10% bleach solution (but wash it good before using it!). Even though the insertable part of the toy is silicone, I wouldn't boil it because the plastic cap would melt and cause problems with the motor.

I haven't spot checked this toy to see if it really 100% silicone so make your best judgment on if you trust what the product says when you put it with other silicone toys. Personally I would just slip it in a plastic bag to be safe or keep it in the packaging that comes with the toy. Putting it in the hard plastic case also keeps it from picking up lint and germs from other toys. Also keep in mind that the same goes with silicone lube on silicone toys, if you don't trust this product being 100%, then don't risk it being melted by the lube.

Packaging

The packaging for this product is both functional and stylish and if I could display my toys I totally would. It comes in a hard solid plastic bulb shaped container that is easily screwed open at the bottom and comes with a little cute fleur de lis symbol that hangs from the top (not detachable). Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep the packaging because the rounded top is so much thicker than the toy and took up a lot of room in my toy box. If I had the room I would have definitely kept it in there because it keeps it in place and looks exactly like the ones in the product pages.

Because the plastic packaging is so translucent I would wrap this inside another box if I was giving this as a present because it's very obvious that it's a vibrator and has all kinds of labels on it. It would still make a really classy toy gift because it is packaged nicely and doesn't show any kind of nudity.
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

When you mentioned Trouble, it made me think of another game that I played as a child, Bop It. That led to all sorts of weird imaginings about how /that/ sort of sex toy would be (twist it! flick it!). Thanks for the chuckle (and the review).
