G-ee, no fun

I wouldn't recommend purchasing this toy not because it didn't perform—because it did—but because the material really took away from the experience. It has good vibrations and the shape is super fun, but because of its porous, jelly head, I think this toy is going spend the rest of his days at the bottom of my toy box.

Use

This is a G-spot vibrator best used for, you guessed it, G-spot stimulation. However, it can also be used for clitoral stimulation if you are either not comfortable inserting it or if you prefer clitoral stimulation over vaginal stimulation. This toy is excellent for couple play and solo play, but please remember to use a condom with this toy, especially if you are going to sharing it with someone else.

It is appropriate for more advanced users and those who are used to using toys with a lot of girth. I have experience with toys that are larger in size and I still was incredibly uncomfortable with it when I started using it simply because it was so wide at the beginning insertion point.

Do not use this toy anally because 1. it does not have a tapered end and though it would take an act of god for you to lose it in your butt, it still would not be a good idea to risk it, and 2. the head is made of jelly, which means it cannot be completely purged of any germs/bacteria/etc. that it may accumulate if used there.

Material / Texture

When I first opened the toy, I nearly gagged from the smell. The G Fun is made of plastic and jelly mix, so of course I was expecting a smell of some sort. I tried to remedy the smell by washing it with soap and water, but unfortunately it still smelled quite rancid. I decided to still try the toy, but with the use of a condom. And for our newbies, plastic ranks an 8 on the Eden health scale, which means it is generally body friendly, not porous, and can be cleaned relatively easily. Jelly, on the other hand, bumps this toy's safety rating to a 2 because jelly is porous, attracts almost any bacteria it is exposed to, and because it is porous, cannot be cleansed of the aforementioned bacteria.

The top of the toy is made of squishy jelly material, while the shaft of the toy is made of a smooth plastic material. Though the head is squishy, it retains its shape during insertion and clitoral play. The plastic is hard to the touch and may not be for those who bruise easily, so I recommend taking more care while using this toy to avoid injury to your vagina. The toy company claims that the G Fun is phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and latex-free; I'm highly suspect of its claim of being phthalate-free, simply because it is partially made of jelly.

The G Fun has no texture and is virtually smooth. I say virtually smooth because the jelly has a pull on the vaginal muscles when being inserted because it is on the sticky side. I would recommend the texture to beginner users because they are not overwhelmed with the sensation of ticklers, bumps, etc. I would also recommend this toy to advanced users that like smooth toys.

Design / Shape / Size

The design resembles many traditional G-spot vibrators—it has an enlarged head that is curved slightly inward. The head of the toy contains the bullet that helps the toy vibrate. The toy then thins out in the center and then flares out at the bottom. Unlike many G-spot vibrators, it has another piece that curves inward and placed under the head—I didn't benefit from this piece of the design, but some others may. The curved head did a wonderful job hitting my G-spot, once I managed to actually get it inside me. The inward curvature didn't really do much for me, just because I handled the largest part of the toy right at the beginning of my play.

The length of the toy measures 8 1/2 inches, while the insertable length measures to 7 inches. Consider this longer than the average penis. The circumference measures 5 1/4 inches and has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches at its widest point. If you are not comfortable with handling wide or long toys, this is not meant for you. Personally, as someone who is accustomed to sticking big things up her vagina, I still felt a little pain trying to insert the bulbous head inside me. I would recommend this for those who like bigger toys, and not to someone who is just starting G-spot exploration. Eden carries a number of G-spot vibrators that are much more beginner friendly.

The toy is something that could be hidden, but if discovered, the viewer would probably know what it is. It can be stowed away in a purse or in a piece of luggage, but be prepared: security may judge you a little. However, if that doesn't matter to you, more power to you.

One last note about this toy is that it is only made in pink. I know some of Eden is staunchly anti-pink, so I just wanted to slip this in.

Functions / Performance / Controls

For those who like to be energy efficient, the G Fun is not for you. It runs on two AA batteries and goes through them a bit fast. The battery compartment is located under an O-ring at the base of the toy. The dial that controls the vibrations are located at the very base of toy, underneath the O-ring. To help others who may be a bit battery challenged (such as myself), the positive end of the battery, or the nubby part, goes upward, facing the bullet part of the toy. I only want to insert this because it took me about ten minutes to figure out that I was inserting the batteries wrong—don't judge.

Anyway, the dial allows for many levels of vibration, which can either be on the intense side or weak side. The dial can easily be maneuvered by your non-masturbating hand or partner with ease. And to turn it off, all you must do is turn the dial past the lowest setting. The weakest vibrations are appropriate for those who enjoy weaker stimulation and those who are interested in some foreplay. The strongest settings aren't exactly overwhelming, but should be reserved for those who have genitals of steel, so to speak.

It's noisy enough that it can be heard through bed sheets and possibly through doors, so it is not exactly discreet. If you're in an empty house or have little care of what your roommates, family, etc. think then play away!

It is waterproof, but tends to be weaker in water. If you are going to use this in the shower, pool, hot tub, etc., make sure the O-ring is completely locked or water will seep in the battery compartment and ruin your toy.
    • Easy to use
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

I'll be honest; I hate jelly toys with the passion of a thousand suns. If you want to avoid infections of ungodly proportions, please use a condom during every use. With that being said, some other materials that can be used to clean this toy is warm water and soap, toy cleaners, and toy wipes. Just remember, you won't be able to completely purge your toy. Please do not boil or bleach your toy because you will ruin it. I would recommend washing it before an after use, even if a condom is utilized, because this toy will attract hair, lint, and dirt.

I'm going to keep this toy separate from my other nicer toys because I don't want to risk exposing them to not only hair and dirt, but also to any potential bacteria the G Fun may carry. It also has a strong stench that tends to spread to objects in the surrounding vicinity. Might I reiterate, even after a few washings, it still carries the same odor, so I have accepted that it will probably be a permanently smelly toy.

This toy is compatible with water based lubes, and should also be compatible with other lubes as well.

Packaging

The packaging was sufficient enough for the storage of the toy from the factory to my house, and that's pretty much it. It has a seductive nude lady on the front of the package, along with some funky lettering of the toy's name. It does not come with any instructions. The package was designed to mold to the shape of vibrator, so it really isn't practical to use this as a gift box or storage box. It is made of plastic though, so it is recyclable.
    • Minimal
    • Not discreet

Experience

I liked the shape of the toy because it really did hit my G-spot perfectly, but I couldn't get over the smell and the jelly. I am definitely interested in owning another G-spot vibrator, but I will search for a toy that is made of better materials.
Follow-up commentary
I'm still not too fond of this toy, simply because it is rather large and it's not body safe. It has excellent vibrations, but because of its jelly head, it is just not meant to be a long term use toy. I would recommend this for someone who is used to large toys and looking for a cheaper, short term fix.
