G Fun might be useful, but not much fun.

The G Fun is not much use for sensual stimulation, but because of its shape, it could be useful as a vaginal exerciser. And the vibrations might make doing your Kegels more fun.

extremely useful review
I received the G Fun as a free gift. I'm still fairly new to sex toys and had never tried a vibrator designed to stimulate your g-spot, so I was curious as to how well it would work for me.

When I first opened the G Fun, I noticed a sickly sweet smell. I don't have a very sensitive nose, but it was rather off-putting. To someone who is sensitive to smells it would probably be more offensive. I washed it twice with toy cleaner and it still smelled unappealing. However, it wasn't enough to dissuade me from trying out the new toy. I loaded it up with two AA batteries and turned it on. Earth shaking, it was not. Even with the twist controller on the base turned all the way up, there simply wasn't much vibration.

I also noticed while feeling for the vibrations, that there were some very obvious seams around the thicker head of the toy where the bullet is. I ran my fingers over them and prodded at them a little with my nails. They looked like they weren't very strong, but they did hold up to my not very strenuous testing.(I didn't want to break the toy before I even got to try it.) And although I could feel them very clearly with my fingers, I didn't notice them at all when I inserted the toy later.

Before inserting the toy, I rubbed a moderate amount of lube(I prefer Astroglide)over the head of the toy and partway down the shaft. I then ran the toy over the outside of my vulva and over my clit. I could barely feel the vibrations at all, even when I placed the head of the toy directly over my clit. Oh, I could tell there was something down there and that it was vibrating, but the vibrations simply weren't strong enough to stimulate me at all.

Not one to give up easily, I slid the head of the G Fun inside me. Now the head is rather big, but I had a child when I was younger and more recently, I had transvaginal surgery to remove a cyst in my abdomen, both of which have left me rather stretched out. So even though I still used lube to insure a comfortable insertion, it was not difficult to slide the head inside. Once the vibrating head was inside me, I just sort of paused to see what it felt like. Sadly, it didn't really feel like much of anything. I tried adjusting the angle of the toy several different ways. At certain angles, I could tell that the toy was indeed hitting my g-spot because I could feel faintly pleasant tingles. I tried to create a little more pressure against the g-spot to see if the tingles graduated to anything more than just a slight sensation. But no go. There just wasn't enough vibration to accomplish any real arousal.

However, I am nothing if not persistent. I kept trying to find some way in which this toy could turn me on. At one point I tried squeezing my abdominal and PC muscles to see if that would make the vibrations more noticeable. It didn't really help in that respect, although it did lead me to discover the one way in which this toy may be useful to me. When I tightened my PC muscles, I could feel them pulling the toy deeper inside me. Because of the way the toy is shaped, it actually works fairly well as a Kegel exerciser. I tried pulling gently on the base of the toy while clenching my PC muscles and I could feel my muscles working to hold the toy in place.

Because I am rather stretched out, I have been thinking about buying some sort of vaginal exerciser. So discovering that this toy might actually be useful in terms of exercising my PC muscles made me like it a bit better. And I suspect that the faint vibrations, even though they don't stimulate me much, still make this toy more fun to exercise with than standard Kegel exercisers. I “exercised” for a bit and did get a sense of satisfaction out of finally finding something useful about this toy, but I was still not really aroused and wasn't even close to climaxing.

After trying and failing to find fulfillment from this toy, I eventually pulled out a small bullet vibe to help finish me off. By running the bullet vibe over my clit while the G Fun was inside me going full blast, I finally managed to achieve a very modest orgasm. However, since using the bullet vibe alone will generally get me off, I honestly can't give the G Fun any credit for me reaching climax.
Experience
Material

According to EF, the G Fun is made of Jelly and plastic. The bulbous head of the toy is slightly squishier than the shaft, so perhaps the head is made of jelly, while the shaft is made of plastic. Though it may be that the head and shaft are simply made of different firmnesses of jelly and the only plastic is the screw cap on the base which is absolutely rigid plastic. Because the G Fun is made at least partially of jelly, it ranks very low on EF's material safety scale. Jelly is porous and can harbor bacteria so it is very important to clean the G Fun thoroughly both before and after each use. I would recommend using an anti-bacterial toy cleaner. Also, no matter how well you clean this toy, it is not safe to share with others unless you cover it with a condom first.

Dimensions

The G Fun has a bulbous head atop a slender shaft that thickens towards the base. The head curves upward and also has a little bump on the inside of the curve. For those reasons giving exact dimensions isn't exactly easy. According to EF, the G Fun has a total length of 8 ½”, an insertable length of 7”, a circumference of 5 ¼ ”, and a diameter of 1 ¾ ”. Obviously, the circumference and diameter are not the same everywhere on the toy. I believe the circumference and diameter measurements are those for the head of the G Fun. Which makes sense, since that is the biggest part of the toy as well as the first part to be inserted. The shaft below the head is slightly less than an inch in diameter from what I can tell by holding a tape measure up to it. The lower part of the shaft seems to be about 1 1/2” in diameter. The size of the toy's head was not an issue for me, but it could very well be too big for some.

Functions/Controls

The G Fun only has one function. It vibrates. And as I mentioned, even at it's highest setting, the vibrations are pretty weak. The control for the vibrations is on the bottom of the screw on base. You simply twist one way to turn in on, twist it further to increase the vibrations and turn it back the other way to turn it off. Pretty simple. However when your hands have lube on them, the controls can be a little tricky to get a grip on.

Power

The G Fun uses two AA batteries.
Follow-up commentary
When I received the notification that it was time to do a follow-up review on the G-Fun, I pulled it out of the bottom of my toy box, heaved a deep sigh, and gave it another try. I really didn't even want to touch the sickly sweet scented thing again, but I felt that in order to give an honest follow-up review, I had to at least use it one more time. You can't say that I'm not dedicated to giving thorough reviews.

As I suspected, I still don't like it – for all of the same reasons listed above. However, I can't complain about every aspect of having to do this follow-up review. In order to clear the bad taste of the G-Fun out of my vagina, I was inspired to have a sex toy orgy.

Thank you! It was actually pretty fun to write. Though I'm apparently very wordy. I had to edit it down a bit to get it to fit.
