Give me Liberté, or give me… something elseCalifornia Exotic’s Coutoure Collection Liberté is the ideal introduction to penetrative vaginal play. Its small size will allow inexperienced users to explore penetration in a safe, comfortable, non-intimidating way. It will also extend the reach of users who may have difficulty using smaller clitoral vibes due to size or mobility issues. A quality little toy, Liberté would make a fine starter toy for anyone!
Being so thin, Liberté will be great for users who are new to penetration, or find it uncomfortable to be penetrated by thick toys. So this would be ideal for users who are new to toys, new to penetration, or simply prefer thinner toys. Its petite size also makes it work really well for dual stimulation. Liberté can easily be used for clitoral stimulation during intercourse with a partner or while using another toy for penetration.
As a waterproof toy, Liberté can also be used in the tub, in the shower, in the pool, or in any other watery environment.
The battery cap is made of ABS Plastic, and receives a safety rating of 8 here at Eden. Plastic is also a very safe toy material, and completely non-porous and phthalates-free.
The Liberté is velvety smooth to the touch with no visual seams. It has four raised ridges along the top and sides of the shaft. This toy is completely rigid along the shaft with a very squishy, plush tip. It has no smell at all, even fresh out of the box.
Liberté would be ideal for any user who enjoys smooth, non-textured toys made of high-quality materials.
This toy is quite petite, so it’s ideal for anyone if space is an issue. Its small stature also makes it easy to travel with, because you can slip it into your purse or luggage and hit the road! Liberté would be best suited for users of any experience level who prefer small sized toys.
The Liberté has a push button control on the battery cap. Push the button briefly to turn the toy on, and then press and release to scroll through the 7 different settings. To turn the Liberté off, you have to cycle through all the settings, and after reaching the 7th setting the toy will turn off.
The vibrations on Liberté are really focused in the plush tip of the toy, which is fantastic. You can barely feel the vibrations down in the handle which makes using the toy much easier. You’re much less likely to get numb hands.
I always use the Je Joue MiMi as a point of comparison to standardize my ratings for vrooms and bees. Using MiMi also helps standardize my ratings of buzziness. If we’re using a scale of 1-10, where 1 is the buzziest toy ever and 10 is the rumbliest toy ever, I would rate the MiMi about a 7 or 8. Liberté would rate about a 6. It is surprisingly rumbly for its size and the fact that it runs on 2 AAA batteries. If you’re someone who needs a Hitachi or a Wahl, Liberté likely won’t have enough power for you, but for many people it will pack just the right amount of punch. I was pleasantly surprised by both its power and its rumble.
For cleaning, simply toss your Liberté in a sink full of warm water and then wash it with your favorite soap or toy cleaner. If you want to share your Liberté, you may use a condom or sanitize it between uses by soaking it in a 10% bleach solution. Do not boil it or send it through the dishwasher as the heat is likely to damage the motor.
Liberté runs on 2 AAA batteries, so be sure to keep your batteries fresh and new. Removing the batteries for storage will help prolong the life of your batteries and your Liberté.
I also found that it is extremely short for penetrative use. If you are a toy user who enjoys thrusting (like me) you will likely find this to be true for you. The handle is barely over 1” long, so there is really painfully little area to hold onto. Most of the handle is taken up by the button too, so you really can’t hold on to the front of the handle or you risk changing the setting. And the handle is even thinner in width than the shaft of the toy, so it was nearly impossible for me to get a good enough grip for rapid, firm thrusting. Liberté is more suited to users who do not need strong thrusting from a penetrative toy.
For me, Liberté would mostly serve as an external, clitoral vibrator. In this department, I already have a number of toys that are stronger, rumblier and more dependable. Overall Liberté just didn’t really shine to me. It’s not a bad toy; it just doesn’t fill any needs that I currently have. It is best suited to beginners, those who prefer small penetrative toys, those who do not need thrusting, or those who need a long-handled clitoral stimulator.
