Great first vibe, fabulous vibe in general!

For $13, this vibe is SO worth it! This is a great first vibe, or a great basic vibe. If you want something simple, inexpensive and effective, this is the toy to choose!

Pros:
Non-intimidating, powerful and adjustable buzz, orgasmic and simple.
Cons:
Not waterproof, will probably break with heavy use.

extremely useful review
Pretty much odorless and tasteless right out of the box, this vibe feels smooth and velvety, not cheap and plastic-y. $13.00 for this bad boy is a pretty good deal - it's a multi-speed vibe with a twist/dial control at the base. Not intimidating at all, this was my first vibe ever and I'm trying to figure out now why I didn't replace it when it finally wore out.

This vibe is one inch across, seven inches long, with about six of those being insertable. All depends on how good of a grip you have on it. It takes two AA batteries and doesn't seem to eat through them too badly. I have the magenta version - it was very vibrant and pink, the color never faded and no marks appeared. Noise was never an issue. Audible through the covers, yes. Audible through doors or walls? No. My freshman roommate and I both bought vibes at the same time and did a really goofy, dorky sound test from the hallway. Neither of us wanted to be mortified by a noisy toy, and neither of us were.

Since this toy is plastic with a PU coat, you can just wash it with warm water and soap. Be careful around the cap! After much use, mine showed rust under the twist dial part of the cap (not quite into the battery compartment) and that's probably what caused it to stop working, ultimately. This isn't a waterproof vibe, so if that is of concern to you, keep on shopping. I don't think I ever needed lube with this, since it's pretty small and nicely tapered, but you can use either water-based or silicone. The surface of the toy also stayed clean during storage. I usually stored mine wrapped in a wash rag, hand towel or clean paper towel in the back of a drawer. Never had an issue with lint or hair sticking to it.

The range of vibrations from low to high made this an excellent vibe for me. I primarily used it vaginally, but its diameter would've been okay for anal play, but not my first choice for anal play. I found that, inside me, the vibe on high was INTENSE! On low, it was a nice rumbling feeling. On my clit, I couldn't handle much more than the lowest area of the dial. The vibrations were too concentrated with the hard plastic for my level of sensitivity. Problem solved - I would just move so I wasn't directly on my clit.

This vibe has made me cum a LOT! The vibrations coupled with the 6+ inches of insertable length do the trick for me. I tend to prefer thicker toys now, but this one is still fantastic. Sometimes you just need a basic vibe.

  • Getting rid of stains on my Velvet Touch vibe?
    • LinLin
Hi, I accidentally used my Velvet touch vibrator during my period (like I started going and I didn't notice that I was already spotting). Since then it has some mild yellowing (I got it in lavander) and I don't know how to get rid of the stains! It does not seem to have an odor or anything, but does anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of the stains? I love this toy and its my first and only one I own, but I'm so annoyed with the staining!

      Any help would be appreciated!
    • You could try cleaning it with a bleach solution, but honestly it might just be stained. I'd say that if it doesn't smell and you've cleaned it real well, that might just be it. It won't affect the usability at all though, which is good. :)
    • Yep, I was going to suggest the same. Best wishes!

Cherry, In what ways does it stop working fast? Do you mean that the battery dies quickly? Or that the machine itself is faulty? I've had this toy for over four years, only had to change the battery once, and it has remained clean, odorless, retained its color, vibrations are as strong as when I first purchased/used it, and it never malfunctioned on it. Although it's a very inexpensive toy, it has outlasted all others in pleasure and in worth! Go for it!
    • I had mine for at least a year before it stopped working. When it stopped working, there was rust under the twisting part of the cap, so I likely caused it to stop working by not being careful when washing it. This was a FABULOUS toy when I had it, and I would buy another if I needed another basic vibe. For $13, you can't really go wrong. Don't abuse it (drop it, get the cap or insides wet) and it should last quite a while.
