Great for foreplay and the end of the day!

I couldn't just jump right into it like I wanted to. It's going to take some getting used to, but then again, it's not supposed to tickle, is it? For the price, I think it's the best thing I've bought on EF, and even though it's going to take some getting used to for sex and foreplay, it's great to have around for sore muscles!
Published: November 13, 2011
Pros:
Powerful, easy to use, lots of varied function.
Cons:
You have to use all 4 pads at once, the packaging is very deceiving.

Use

Initially, I had thought of this as one of those things that were in the 'who would be into that' category. Then, curiousity got the best of me and I had some points burning a hole in my cyber pocket. I had to try it. The best use of this product really depends on the person. If you like pain during foreplay or intercourse, this can provide it. If you like subtle stimulation, this can provide it. If you are exhausted at the end of the day and don't have anyone to rub your back, this can take care of that too.... assuming you can reach the places you need to put the pads on.

I have no experience with electrical play or using one of these things and it was easy to figure out, so I would say that even a beginner could do it.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

With the price and the fact that it only took 2 AAA batteries, I wondered how cheaply made this product would be. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and everything was packaged neatly. The operating unit was made of a sturdy plastic and the pads seemed to be pretty good quality.

Although I have nothing to really compare them to, except for the ones that they used on my son when he was in the NICU for his monitors, which seemed to keep coming off. These stayed on very well and the jelly-like sticky material didn't pull hair or skin, or cause any pain upon removal. The one thing I was surprised about was the size of the pads. They were much bigger than they seemed when looking at pictures on the product page which makes it kind of difficult to put on say, a penis. We have yet to build up to trying that yet, if it's even possible. I read in other reviews that if the pad is not on securely, it can cause more of a 'pinching' feeling than the tingling, so we were very leery about putting it on places on our bodies that were not basically flat.

We messed around with the machine quite a bit, put on and took off the pads probably a good dozen times and they still adhered to our skin just as well at the end as they did at the beginning. They do sell replacement pads (see similar products below), but I think it will be a while before we need them. In order to reuse them though, you do need to keep the plastic backing that they come on, so that they stay clean. We also made sure to wipe our skin off with a baby wipe before we placed each pad.

Aside from the word 'Pipedream' at the top of the screen, you would never know that I got this thing off of a sex toy website. And still, unless you are familiar with the fact that Pipedream is a brand of toys, you would really never know.

Performance

There are 3 modes of stimulation and each mode has 10 speeds, and 10 intensity levels:

Tap: Which feels like someone is well, tapping you, but much deeper down in your tissue. It's probably the lightest of the three modes, even on the highest intensity and speed setting.

Modulation: This kind of seems like a combination of the other two settings. It has some longer and shorter pulses to it and kind of feels like it reaches a bit deeper down. This one can get fairly intense.

Kneading: This is the shock version of deep tissue massage, basically. I'm not sure I would use this to stimulate or arouse, personally, but it's nice for sore muscles.

I bought this thing and I was so excited to use it that night. Then when I opened it I got nervous and decided that we should maybe test it out a bit before we used it during foreplay and sex. Being the bitch that I am, I made my husband the guinea pig despite a few protests. I told him to take his pants off and I put one pad on each of his upper thighs and one more a little further down, so he had two pads on each leg. I turned the unit on cautiously and proceeded to go through the 3 settings, experimenting with the intensities and speeds on each one. Judging from his reactions as someone who can tolerate pain quite well, this is what my findings were:

On the 'tap' setting: The lowest was pleasurable, and as beginners I would probably stick with keeping the intensity under 3 and the speed under 5 during foreplay or sex. The higher settings might be okay once you were really into things, but they did tense up his muscles pretty good, so it would be hard for him to move properly.

On the 'modulation' setting: On the lowest speeds it was a little more intense feeling than the lowest settings on the 'tap' mode and he said that it felt like the shock was going a little deeper into his tissue. At about a 5 on the intensity, he had to really focus to function properly, and if I turned the speed up to about a 5, he pretty much couldn't willingly move his legs because it had taken control of his muscles. I could see them flexing each time it sent him a shock. At a 10 on both settings, he was pretty much incapable of even speaking. He couldn't even say 'ouch' in between the pulses.

On the 'kneading' setting: He said that this one went the deepest feeling out of all of them and felt much more intense than the others. The bodily reactions were about the same as the 'modulation' setting.

He was pretty worn out after all of it. I decided that I wanted to try it out, even though after seeing how he handled it I was a little scared. I put the pads on my arms, 2 on each forearm. On each of the settings, at about 3, my arms pulsed uncontrollably. I don't think I would have been able to give him a hand job at about a 4, no matter how hard I focused on taking control of my own muscles. I kind of wussed out and wouldn't let him go over 5 on intensity, and 2-3 on the speed.

So, this baby definitely packs quite the punch. I would never guess that 2 AAA batteries is what powered this thing.
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

We kept the original box to keep it in. As long as you clean your skin before adhesion and keep the plastic backing, the pads will last through many uses. The unit is not waterproof and should never be used on wet skin.

Though the warnings or package didn't state this, I don't recommend that pregnant women or those with heart conditions (especially a pacemaker) use this product. There is debate on whether or not it is okay to use on your chest, and we erred on the side of caution and decided not to.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is NOT discreet in any way. The front has a naked chick with one pad on each breast and two on her crotch. Not only could putting them on your chest be detrimental to your health, but according to other reviews, putting them on your crotch would be very painful because the pads can't be fully adhered causing the machine to send a painful 'biting' sensation. I however, did not have the balls to try that and I'm not sure I ever will.

There were some instructions included, but they basically only covered the basic things that I could probably have figured out without reading them.

The back of the package:

    • Good for storage
    • Minimal
    • Not discreet

Personal comments

A few things:

The machine will not work if all 4 pads are not adhered. The four cords come out of the unit in 2 sections, and the instructions say that you can use it on two different people as long as the paired cords go on the same person, but it didn't work for us when we tried it.

On the monitor, there is a diagram of a body and by pushing the mode button you can select various body parts. As far as I can figure, this serves no purpose what-so-ever and the instructions don't even mention it anywhere.

Experience

So, despite being all pumped up to use it and have it used on me, I chickened out after just testing it. It's going to take some working up and getting a little more used to it before we can use it during foreplay and sex. But on the lower to middle settings it feels great for sore body parts.
Follow-up commentary
So, I personally still have not had the balls to try this baby on myself while we are messing around. I did, however, tie him up, and put the pads on his thighs and hips while I was teasing him and giving him a blow job, and then riding him. He said it was one of the most intense experiences he's ever had. He was forced to focus on what I was doing to him, and it made it much more intense, he said. It's not something we will use a lot, I'm sure, but it's one of my favorite gadgets in that cabinet!

@tametemptress- It scared me too, but after reading about it, I figured that I only live once, and there have been crazier things that I've gotten into that I never thought would turn me on.... so I couldn't really NOT do it....lol.

Great pictures, thanks! It's cool that you don't use it much but it's still one of your favorites. Some toys are like that.

  • Shock Therapy Questions from a beginner
    • I never thought I'd order this, but curiousity has killed the cat.

      My questions:
I have several piercings. Is it okay to leave them in during use as long as I don't put the pads on the metal?

I've read some things that say that you shouldn't do them on your nipples. I don't know a lot about electricity, but I'm wondering if it's safe to use it on one nipple at a time and if the warnings come when you are just using one on each nipple, or is hte chest area not safe at all?

Any advice, or fun things I should try (hot spots, etc.) would be appreciated!

Anyone? It should be here in a couple of days, and I'm really anxious to try it out.... but I've never used one before so I want to make sure that I'm covering all of the obvious things that I might not think of.

I don't know the answers to your questions but I was curious about the product so I read some of the reviews. I think some of your answers are in the reviews. Looks like you have to have all four pads attached for it to work. Not sure about the piercing safety. Good luck and have fun. I'm not sure I would be brave enough to try it ;O

  • Little person with flashing parts on the Shock Therapy Kit
    • I was quite perplexed by what this did, as different parts of the person would flash but there weren't any instructions about it.

I e-mailed their customer service and they told me that the little person on the LED is a design flaw and that they never actually developed the function that they were going to use it for.

Just in case any of you out there were wondering. :P

      Heck, Miss Debauchery,

Right now, that's about the ONLY part of MY unit that IS working!

GEESH!!! I just posted a 1-star review based on what appears to be a DOA unit. But I REALLY want to discover it's "operator error" on my part. So any tips you may provide would be MOST appreciated. (Perhaps I could even "service your needs," whatever they may be [weg], at some point?!?)

  • Fetish Fantasy Series Shock therapy kit Question...
    • I just got this delivered today and am MAJORLY digging it! Though I have to ask, just how safe is this toy on genitals (both penises and vaginas :P) and highly sensitive spots (nipples, butt cheeks, etc etc)? I know there are different shocky items available via Pipedream elsewhere (like the cock cage or probe) but I worry about frying nerve endings and other scary stuff :S

I've wondered the same thing. The instructions don't tell you not to and I'm sure the box wouldn't have them placed where they are if you couldn't do that. All it says is not to use it anywhere internal. I think in the adult video review on the page, it is actually put in some sensitive spots. I'm not brave enough to try it yet.

I'd say that if you wanted to try it, start it off on the lowest intensity. I can barely feel that one on most of my body.
    • I guess it depends on the intensity and what your comfort level is.

  • Adhesive
    • I'm slightly sensitive to adhesive, especially the kind found on band-aids. Does anyone know how the adhesive on these pads compares to band-aids (like is it stronger or weaker than that on a band-aid)?
    • Sounds like a good question to post here.

I'm very sensitive to adhesives too, this would be interesting to find out.

It was a tickling sensation, I am not into the pain fullness of things either, and it is by far not a painful thing, but the higher you crank it the more you will get so I guess for some it could get painful

    • Quote: What are the best parts of the body to use this one, and why? Also what are your personal favorites?
In the sexual realm, we tried several areas such as breasts including nipple area. If the nipples are EXTREMELY sensitive, I advise to avoid that area directly and work on the area surrounding them. Inner thighs are also very good places to explore with this as is the bottom of the buttocks. For muscle massage instead of using for sexual stimulation play, any muscle area is good but I would avoid facial areas. Always start on the very lowest settings and increase slowly. If anyone has a history of medical problems relating to heart or seizures, I advise speaking with their doctor first as a normal precaution.
    • Great video!

Does anyone know if this is less intense than the neonwand? I am having a difficult time talking my friend into trying the wand, and thought maybe this would be more her style.
