Duets - traditional vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Reesa

I picked this toy up for a friend who'd never had a sex toy before, and I think it makes a great introductory toy. One end is a fairly traditional plastic bullet vibe and the other end has a tight fitting lid that you can pop off and access a little pump to expel a bit of lube. It's somewhat larger than a lot of the bullets I've used - it'll comfortably fill my hand - and has a decent weight to it. It's a very simple vibrator as these things go; there's a single switch that you flick on to make it vibrate and then off when you're done and there's only a single strength with no fluctuating patterns or fancy tricks. If you're going to go for a single strength, though, I think they picked a good level to set it at. It's a nice mid-range vibration that's not so strong that most people will have issues with holding it but still packs a good punch. It's a little louder than I'd prefer, but no louder than an electric toothbrush. The entire outside of the vibrator is very smooth and easy to wipe off for ease of cleaning. It doesn't seem to have issues with the lube leaking, either, which was my main concern when I first saw it.

I don't know how much lube the reservoir holds, so I can't speak to that. The pump does come off, however, so you can refill it with a lubricant of your choice when the stuff that originally came with the toy runs out. My only negative note about the toy is that the lubricant they included with it smells a little sweet for my tastes. I prefer unscented lubricants, and I worry a bit about sweet smelling ones and possible glycerin content since sugars near the girly bits increase the potential for yeast infections. I don't have any information regarding the sugar content of this particular lubricant, but I would recommend approaching it with care just in case.

All in all, I think this is a great starter toy. I'd be happy to get more of them as gifts in the future.
