Groinal Warming's Just a Myth

Some lubes fail on some levels, others don't fail at all, this failed on all the important levels. It didn't feel right, didn't absorb into the skin and left a rash. There are better lubricants in the sea ones that actually warm and don't feel like rubbing oil on the skin.

Use

Toys are wonderful, but cold, especially during the winter. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a lubricant that warmed them and the genitals simultaneously to create a warm, sensual feeling? Yes, yes it would be awesome, but this isn’t that product.

No, this is a lubricant which claims to be warming, but is itself just a normal lubricant, except for its inability to absorb into the skin. As a water-based lubricant, this is compatible with any type of toy without problem and with all types of users, couples, individuals, gay and straight. In theory at least, the aforementioned uses are possible, but with this lubricant’s two main flaws, a superior lubricant is recommended.

The ingredients are as follows: Purified water, Methylparaben, Propyl paraben, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, Acacia honey type A, Peppermint. Chemically speaking there aren’t any allergen issues, except for anyone with a peppermint or acacia honey allergy. Given the water-base, it will wash away very quickly in the shower.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

When poured, the lubricant is a decent consistency, thin enough to pour well, but not runny. It’s mildly sticky upon first touch, but as it rubs against the skin, problems start arising.

1. It’s greasy. The first use of the lubricant will be very greasy. This goes beyond basic slickness to the point where rubbing a few drops makes the hand feel like it just rubbed a big slab of bacon. For better comparison, it feels like body oil, except that body oil isn't the best lube.

2. It’s sticky. After initial application, the lube thins out and leaves behind a sticky residue that must be washed off. While not horribly sticky, the peppermint, honey type A make the lube undeniably sticky, which, depending on the area, will be quite uncomfortable.

3. It doesn’t absorb into the sin. Despite being billed as a lubricant which will disappear over time, IE after having a quick bedtime wank in a sleeve before bed, it doesn’t.

4. It doesn’t warm. This isn’t a sin for all lubes, just those that claim to be “warming.” Regardless of the amount used, this lube fails to offer the slightest change in sensation, not even a tingle, despite claims otherwise. Worse still, the same ingredients that made it sticky were likely supposed to make it warm, so it caused all those problems for nothing.

There are advantages to the lube however. It stays in places, so use on probes and vibrators are unimpeded and it feels okay when using sleeves and other toys. The lubricant is very generic on the whole, but the aforementioned problems drag a mediocre lubricant into the dregs.

Taste / Aroma

When smelling or tasting the lubricant, there’s the unmistakable hint of peppermint. This isn’t an overpowering odor however, opening the lid won’t unleash a torrent of peppermint to permeate through the room. Still, when smelling the fingers after application or tasting the lube, peppermint is unmistakable.

This is actually a plus for those who don’t care for the default smells and flavors of their partners. If using this lubricant for a handjob, it should overpower the wang smell afterwards if there isn’t time to wash hands, the same for oral sex. Granted lubricant is rarely used for oral sex, but for couples who start with toys or sex and move onto oral sex, this lube offers a minty coverup if there isn’t time to wash. Not to mention an (arguably) more pleasant aftertaste.

Definitely use if your partner has a peppermint butler fetish. And then run, because PB is crazy man, just run.

Performance

Most of the issues have already been covered in the texture section because that’s where the majority of the performance problems lie. As mentioned previously, the lube is greasy, sticky, doesn’t wash off or warm as it promises. What wasn’t mentioned is how the lubricant doesn’t wash away either.

One time after using the lube for a pre-bed wank, I awoke to find a ghastly new issue with the lubricant. There was still a residual sticky, greasiness that has already been described, but it had also left a mild rash around my pubic region. Water-based lubes should not require an immediate shower afterwards use to avoid rashes.

That was the last straw for this poor lube. Some lubes with only one or two problems are still usable. While I didn’t like the Colt Slick Liquid lubricant at first, I later realized this lube worked great for sleeves, just nothing else. This lubricant, while it does have advantages just doesn’t work for my needs.

Lubricants for intercourse should be higher quality, thick enough to stay, clean enough not to interact with the body chemistry and flavorless. This is a wanking lube, which for me means right before bed and a lube shouldn’t need to be washed off. For those who don’t mind immediately cleaning the area after use, this should be okay, minus the aforementioned issues, but it just didn’t work for me.

Aw. This sounds like a real pain in the a**. Sorry it didn't do well for you. I've never found System JO lube that agreed with me, which is strange because most people seem to love it all. I always have leftover greasy or tacky and stickyness from JO lubes. That is the reason I steer clear from them. I hate that this one didn't even actually warm on top of it being sticky and icky! That's basically a deal breaker. Thank you for sharing though. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and like that you went into detail about the scent and performance of this. Great job!
