Use

G4 Patchy Paul is a very versatile G-spot vibrator by Fun Factory, a German vibrator manufacturer. Anyone that enjoys reasonably deep vibration and semi firm g-spot stimulation will love Paul! Paul's smooth to the touch, bumpy exterior graduates in size and widens toward the bottom. Paul's head sits atop his bumpy body perfectly positioned to stroke and excite the g-spot. The G-4 line is rechargeable, waterproof, with a 100% platinum silicone body. Paul is great for thrusting, clit and nipple stimulation, as well as solo and partner play.

Material / Texture

Paul's silicone body is odor and taste free. Paul has a body that graduates in size as the body approaches the base of the toy. The graduation in size means Paul is great for just about anyone, beginner to advanced users.

Paul has nine bulges that make up his bumpy body. Paul has a base/handle of ABS plastic with silicone buttons. Paul has lot's of flexibility from the head through the first four bulges, then Paul's body becomes rigid for the last five bulges. In use, Paul's bulges are a mild, non aggressive, texture that enhances sensation without overwhelming the user.

Design / Shape / Size

Paul is a worm - I'm not going to assume what particular type. Paul's bumpy, wormy, exterior is the perfect shape for a g-spot vibrator. His head is modestly sized making his graduating body perfect for just about anyone. Paul has ample length to find even the deepest g-spot. His total length is ten inches. The insertable length is seven and a half inches and the diameter is one and five eighths. The first four inches of Paul flex and bend, yielding to your will. G-spot stimulation is moderate, not as intense as a totally firm material such as Glass would be.

Fun Factory calls the handle on the G4 vibes the "Loop of love" and I have to agree, I love this handle! The oval opening in the handle provides the perfect finger hold for a very secure grip! I also can hold on securely without threat of hitting the controls. The handle also provides a fairly ergonomic grip for thrusting.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Patchy Paul is rechargeable and charges by the click n charge method. The charger magnetically attaches to a metal "Fun" symbol on the base of the handle. The only problem with this charging method is the charging cable. If the cable is not perfectly straight it will twist and some times lose contact with the toy and charging ceases until you catch the problem. This happened several times throughout the charging process. The instructions say it may take up to twelve hours for the initial charge. Mine took around six hours. Paul is supposed to run a half hour on high from a full charge.

Paul is very powerful and has fairly deep vibrations. On the face of the loop of love there are three buttons. A plus, a minus, and an asterisk. The steady vibrations will increase or decrease incrementally if you choose to continue to depress the button for every level. If you depress the plus button and hold it down the speed will increase gracefully and smoothly to the maximum speed. The Asterisk will change through four patterns.

1) A rumble
2) Low pulse
3) A deeper pulse
4) A slow to high repeating pattern

Magic touch technology is a nice feature of this vibe. The buttons light up with activity. I'm not sure exactly what causes the buttons to activate and glow but it's cool. I found I had no problems with water and was able to use Paul in the bathtub, hot-tub and shower. Paul is fairly quiet during use and is hard to hear behind a closed door.

Care and Maintenance

Paul is easy to care for. Simply wash with warm water and antibacterial soap before and after use. Toy cleaner or toy wipes can also be used. Paul is silicone, so silicone lube is a no no and could make Paul's surface melt and become permanently sticky. Store Paul individually in a plastic bag or other storage device.

  • Fun Factory G4 Click n' Charge question - when is it done charging?
    • GZekko
Hey everyone, my brand new G4 Patchy Paul is charging up for the first time. The manual says that the head of the click n charge connector has a light that will turn off when the charging is done, but it's been charging over a day now, uninterrupted, and all that happens is the light will slowly pulse, not turn off. Does anyone have experience with the G4 Fun Factory products that they can confirm how you can tell when charging is complete? Is my product borked, or is the manual mistaken? None of the above?
      Thanks for any help!
    • I think the light that changes (from red to green) is actually on the charger (where it attaches to the outlet). There is a red light when charging, and it turns green when done. I didn't understand that for a while either.

      Thanks for the reply.
My charger has a red led on the plug that goes into the wall outlet, that lights up once it's plugged into the wall, regardless of what is happening with the charger. Haven't seen it change colors or turn off unless removed from the wall.

It seems the "Fun" logo on the magnetic end doesn't pulse/glow when charging the toy after the toy has run for a little bit of time, it just is steady and bright. So it might be safe to say that it starts to pulse/glow when charging is done, if it weren't for the directions saying so explicitly that the light "turns off" when done charging. Here's what the manual says:

"The FUN logo’s red light on the magnetic plug indicates when the vibrator has been charged. The “red light” switches off as soon as the process is complete. The toy is now totally charged and the »FUN Magnetic
Plug« can be removed from the vibrator."

Anyone else with any experience or thoughts?

  • Should I get them all?
    • I love the look and descriptions of all the g4 vibes. I have the calla. I'm considering making it a set and getting them all. Opinions? Am I crazy?
    • They are different enough in shape to make it logical. Could get very expensive, though.
    • I'd get them all... if I was rich! Those are expensive.

  • FunFactory G4 Vs Lelo Mona?
    • I'm looking at Patchy Paul, and have never tried a FunFactory toy before. How strong are they compared to Lelo toys?

I love that they have a handle.
    • I think the LELO toys are in general much firmer than the G4 toys would be? That's all I feel certain about, but I don't have either of those specifically. Oh, and the controls and charging are different.
    • Hrm... ok, so less firm. How's the vibration as far as frequency goes compared to a lelo?
