Here, Kitty, Kitty

All said, I think this toy's worth it. As a beginner to vibrators, I think this one gets the job done. However, if you're a bit more experienced, you might disagree. In fact, at times, I found the third setting to be a little too strong. Someone who's had two or three vibrators before this might disagree. And, I mean, it's waterproof, always a plus.

Use

Jenna's Kitty Caress Vibe has the primary function of being a clitoral stimulator, but, as it says on the instructions, it can also be used to be inserted "into the vagina or anus." However, because it doesn't have a flared base, I wouldn't recommend sliding it into the anus, and if it's to be put into the vagina, lube it up, I used a K-Y Warming Jelly and it felt quite amazing. But as for using it for one's clitoris, that is what it's for. At the tip, it has a indention/ curvature that perfect for cradling the clitoris. You can let it sit there or, as I did, move it around between your (or your partner's) lips, then slide it back to the clitoris. Either way, it's equipped with three speeds to be used however, and wherever, desired.

My boyfriend used this on me, and traced it also along my inner thighs, at the lowest setting. It was tantalizing, as if I was being teased. It could also be used on one's breast, directly on the nipple, if desired, but for me, that felt more strange than awesome.

The best part about this toy is that it can be used it the shower, no problem. Just make sure the battery compartment it tightly closed, as to prevent any water from getting in there. I actually like it while I'm in the shower a little more than when I'm on the bed. I don't know about submerging it completely under water, such as while taking a bath or in the jacuzzi, but the box claims that it's "great" for the jacuzzi, so I suppose it's fine. Just as with being in the shower, please make sure the battery compartment is tightly sealed!

Material / Texture

This vibrator is made from a plastic known as "Velvet Touch". It has a feel other than different plastic, and it only feels like "real" plastic when you drag your fingernails over it. It doesn't have much of a smell; you have to really put your nose on it to smell anything.

As for the texture, there isn't one. With the Velvet touch, it's smooth, and great for beginners. If you want something with ribbing, bumps, or something that otherwise provides a textured feeling, I would skip over this. If you want something smooth, this is a good product. Also, if you're a beginner, there's nothing scary about Jenna's Kitty Caress Vibe; sometimes texture can prevent a good time for some beginners and this toy doesn't have that problem.

It's also available in three different colors: Lilac, Cotton Candy, and Baby Blue (or, know on Eden Fantasies as Purple, Pink, and Blue).

Design / Shape / Size

As you look at the picture, the shape might seem a bit familiar: it looks just like a toothbrush, or at least that's what I think. I like to put lube just in the little cradle part at the top, and it's just like putting toothpaste on a toothbrush. Anyway, from end to end, it measures approximately 6 and a half inches, with the portion that is made just for clitoral stimulation being about 1 and a half inches. Here it's also a bit wider than the rest of the vibrator, but not by much. I actually had a little bit of trouble getting the first inch in my vagina simply because of this small flare, but once it was in the rest was easy to slide in. The toy's not very thick; if you want something with a sizable girth this won't cut it, but if you want something on the slender size, this would be perfect. Though the width isn't uniform throughout, the difference isn't that much as to be noticed.

Another thing to be noted about this toy is that it's suitable for travel. Just take the batteries out before you stuff it in your suitcase so it doesn't go off at a random time. Remember, it's a button, not an on/ off switch, so this is liable to happen. Because it's waterproof, it can be used where you want, so it's perfect for travel. There are also no cords to remember to pack, so that's a plus. However, because there's no cords, obviously, it's not rechargeable, which is a bummer for the eco-friendly out there or those who just don't want to buy batteries after batteries. if you're either one of those people, this vibrator is not for you.

In terms of being easy to hide, it's not something that you can put out in plan sight and be like "no that's not a vibrator." It's not the I Rub My Duckie; it's not going to be mistaken for something else. If you want it to be less-than-obvious, the only real choice is to choose something else or hide it. Even though it kinda looks like a toothbrush, doesn't mean someone's going to mistake it for one.

Functions / Performance / Controls

To turn the Kitty Caress on, go to the base, where it's a darker color. Press the very bottom. From here, there are three speeds. In order to turn it off, one must go through all of the speeds (ie, click the button four times), which can sometimes be annoying if you want to change the speeds constantly. If you're at the second speed and want to go back to the first, the button has to be pressed three times. It's not a deal breaker for this toy, just a small nuisance.

As for how it sounds, there's no hiding it or denying it: this is a vibrator. At the first setting, it has a hum about like that of a phone on vibrate. From there, it sounds about like a power toothbrush. At the final setting, it's quite loud. If you're in college and have a roommate, even if it's on the lowest setting and you're under a blanket, they'll probably be able to hear it--they definitely will at the highest setting.

Care and Maintenance

Once you're done playing with your toy, you have to clean it, and, in all honesty, it's not a bad clean-up. I simply use hot water; I generally take it in the shower with me and clean it then. In the instructions, it also says to use a "preferred cleaner" but they never mention what they consider to be a preferred cleaner so good ol' soap and water works just fine. As for storing it, it can be put right back into the box that it came in. If you want something else to store it in, it doesn't collect lint or other fuzzies, so it can be stored in something like a drawstring pouch or a box . It's really okay anywhere, but it's advised that it is stored on its own as "other products of varying materials may cause chemical reactions and produce break down in chemical structures." Also, when not in use, the batteries should be removed to preserve their life and prevent any corrosion that may occur.

Packaging

The Vibe comes in a plastic box that's really easy to open. The box is colored according to the toy inside. It's not at all discreet; picking up the package, one can clearly see what's inside, so I recommend buying a box or pouch to put it in if you don't want someone to recognize what it is at first glance. Upon lifting the tab at the top, the toy slides right out. Though its nestled in a piece of plastic that forms to fit the Kitty Caress Vibe, it can easily fall out of that, so it needs to be taken out of the package toy-side up.

There's also a small instructional manual that details how the vibrator works in six different languages: English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, and Spanish. They aren't too detailed, and they aren't made just for this toy. There's three different battery diagrams, and the owner has to identify which one to follow. Another thing that's not-so-perfect about the instructions is that it doesn't list what type of lube or cleaner to use. For a beginner who is new to vibrators, this could potentially be a problem.

Follow-up commentary
To me, this toy is still great. It always gets the job done and never fails me! It doesn't seem that it's wearing out, or that the vibrations are getting weaker because of constant use. Definitely a keeper.
