Hey There Delilah...What's It Like To Be Mistaken For A Dental Tool?

Delilah isn't great, she's not terrible, she's just average. She's nice for some g-spot warm up and nice to play with your partner, and run over the whole body. The more I thought about it though, the more the dental shape really bothered me. shallow and buzzy vibrations makes Delilah better for the warm-up than the main event.

Use

Delilah was surprisingly versatile. She can be used on the clit, g-spot, and nipples, and can be really sexy for partner play. A really fun and sensual way to use her for partner play would be to slowly run her all over your partner's body. Over the neck, nipples, stomach, back, and anywhere else your imagination takes you! It's sensuous and a great addition to your regular foreplay. Just make sure neither you or your partner concentrates on the actual toy, because her shape is a little clinical looking.

Caution: There isn't a flared base on this vibrator so please don't use her anally. She could slip in and I promise you that wouldn't be a pleasant trip to the ER.

Delilah is multi-speed and like most other cheaper vibrators, a little buzzy. I would recommend her to beginners, but caution advanced users of the buzzy vibrations. She's also waterproof so feel free to try her out in the water. The higher settings get loud, so she's best used in situations where a little noise is okay.

Material / Texture

Delilah is plastic and scores an 8 on the Eden safety scale.
Safety Features: food-grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex free, phthalates free, and non-porous

The vibrator is very firm with no give at all. The colors that she will come in are pink (the one I have) and purple, both with a shiny finish. She is completely smooth and without texture making her perfect for beginners, and also advanced users who prefer smoother toys. The smooth texture helps it to glide across with ease.

Out of the package there is no smell or taste. Sometimes plastic can smell a little weird when you first get it, I was extremely happy not to experience that with this toy.

Design / Shape / Size

Sexy time is very hard with a toy that looks like a dental tool! Remember that odd mirror thing the dentist sticks in your mouth? It is awfully hard for me to be serious, with my boyfriend running a toy all over my body that brings back terrible dental related memories! I understand what they were trying to do with the shape here. It is effective for direct clitoral stimulation. I personally don't like pinpoint clitoral stimulation so it didn't do much for me in this area. I love her for overall body stimulation, especially with your partner. Of course only if you can get passed her shape.
Here is my little dental tool:
Delilah

Delilah isn't exactly marketed to stimulate the g-spot, but I liked using her that way much better than on my clit. For a really nice warmup just insert the vibrator into your vagina, and guide the scoop end around your pubic bone. Stroke your g-spot with firm pressure. The scoop shape acts kind of like a finger and really takes the effort out of warming up your g-spot.
Here is the front of the scoop:

Size:
Length- 7.5 inches
Insertable length- 2.5 inches
Circumference- 2.5 inches
Diameter of "scoop"- 1 inch

As you can see size isn't an issue. Since Delilah's main use is direct clitoral stimulation she is good for beginners and advanced users. I would only steer advanced users away if they liked big toys and only wanted to use her internally.

Here she is next to an iPhone and a can of soda:

It is obvious Delilah looks like an odd dental tool. Even so, I don't think she's really discreet. The basic look of a vibrator is still there. If hiding your toy is absolutely necessary I would look into getting one of the Hide Your Vibe Pillows. Since Delilah is turned on with the basic twist cap it can be easily turned on while traveling. Keeping the vibrator in the packaging will prevent it from turning on, but won't prevent the toy from being seen if someone was looking through your bags.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Delilah does exactly what she is supposed to do with a couple added bonuses. The vibrations are enough, though they didn't wow me. The vibrations are located mostly in the scoop part since she is mainly for clitoral stimulation. In addition to the clit stimulation she does well on the g-spot and all over the body.

She is multi-speed and has the basic twist controls for low, medium, and high.
Controls
They work pretty well but not as convenient as buttons if you don't have both hands available.

The louder Delilah's vibrations got, it seemed the lower the intensity was. When I cranked her on high the vibrations seemed to get even more buzzy and I wasn't able to feel as much as I could with the lower settings. They were fairly noisy and I was kind of surprised at how distracting it was at times. To find out how bad it was I had my partner leave the room. He couldn't hear the vibrations with me under the covers and the door closed behind him. They could however, be heard through the closed door when I wasn't under the blanket.

I wanted to make sure I tested her out in every way for you all so I nervously filled my bathroom sink, turned her on high, and dropped her in. After about 30 seconds I pulled Delilah out and dried her off. I was thrilled when she still worked the next day! I also took her into the tub to play and found that the vibrations weren't really affected by the water.

Power: Delilah is powered by 2 AAA batteries that slip into a clear plastic sleeve. The plastic sleeve goes into the toy and the cap goes on over it.

Care and Maintenance

Delilah being waterproof simplifies the cleaning process. Just use some warm water and soap, without worrying about water getting into her. You could also use toy cleaner or wipes if you prefer. I store her in a drawer with my other plastic toys. You can also store her in the package but since plastic won't react with other plastics I don't see a reason to do this. I love the low maintenance aspect of Delilah.

She is compatible with water based, oil based, and silicone lubricants.

Packaging

Delilah's packaging is the typical plastic clam shell packaging. Inside the packaging along with the toy is instructions on how to insert the batteries.
Front of package:

The back of the package gives some information about Dr. Laura Berman, relationship therapist and sex educator. Delilah is part of her toy line. There are also instructions and ways to use the toy.

As you can see the packaging isn't discreet at all and definitely not pretty enough to use as the gift packaging. I did mention that you could store her in the package but it's not meant for long term storage.

Experience

I think Delilah is a pretty average toy for clitoral stimulation. I was happy with the unexpected use for g-spot stimulation and it felt great to get my g-spot warmed up.

What I didn't expect to love so much was the use for sensual play and whole body stimulation. The only thing that takes away from this is the shape. It really does remind me of a dental tool.

Overall I have to say Delilah was good, but average. She wasn't bad in any way but she also wasn't incredible. In the end I have to give her 3 stars because of the odd shape and shallow, buzzy vibrations.
Follow-up commentary
I wasn't quite sure what to label this follow up review. I didn't love it before and I still don't. I didn't dislike it either, so my feelings about Delilah have pretty much stayed the same. The look of the toy is still a little too odd to me.

Thanks for the review! I see what you mean about it looking like a dental tool! Wish it was more powerful! I actually like the shape of it.
  • Contributor: Geogeo
Haha the shape doesn't bother me, worth a try
  • Contributor: ShadowedSeductress
I guess I'm just a little odd then It's powerful enough, just not spectacular. I think the fact that it was buzzy made it feel a whole lot less powerful to me.

Great review. It does look like a tool from the dent. office. Kind of different looking what about the feel wonder if it is as good on the G-spot as it looks like it should be?
  • Contributor: ShadowedSeductress
    @Mistress Dragon,
Thank you. It definitely is great on the g-spot. I actually liked it better there then I did using it on my clit
