Intensity - electro stimulator discontinued by Jopen - review by Holly Wood

This is an amazing toy that I believe should become a staple in every woman's bedside drawer! It is not only a versatile toy, but also a great exerciser. Don't forget the e-stim gel on the stimulation pads... without the gel; your experience could be painful, instead of pleasurable. Then again, some people would enjoy this, but I for one am NOT one of those people! This toy should be used in moderation, as I found that over-stimulation could potentially be like running an untrained 10k!

The primary material that Intensity is made of is silicone, a velvety, hypoallergenic material that is soft to the touch, and almost rubbery-feeling. The entire handle has a solid outer mold, as does the entire penetrating shaft-portion. On the shaft are the metal electrode plates, however. These are encircled with the silicone from the shaft. I have seen from other reviews that some of the first Intensity Vibes were crudely finished, or perhaps not trimmed, however mine appears to be very cleanly finished and have not had the crumbly-edge issue that some others have. The entire Intensity is also completely odor-free and lacking any molding oils.

The size of the shaft of the stimulator is size-customizable. There is an inflation pump built within the shaft handle. Simply pump to your desired size (until you feel "full.” You can’t overstretch, the pump portion will adjust). If you feel that you’ve over-pumped, or wish to remove the stimulation shaft, just press the button above the pump and it will deflate the shaft quickly and silently.

You can target the toy for internal or external use individually, or you can use both stimulators at once, if you wish. Using both stimulators at once will more than likely give the most pleasurable experience for most; however, I personally prefer to use the e-stimulator separately.

The Intensity is a great idea, with an okay design. Functionally, it is an amazing toy/medical tool, however visually it’s not all that pretty to look at. The toy definitely has an unfinished/ugly-duckling feel to it. In my own personal opinion, I would HIGHLY suggest another layer of silicone over the ENTIRE toy, top-to-bottom… this way the seam in the middle of the toy is sealed and the Intensity would then be waterproof as well (at least for the cleaning aspect).

Size-wise, the toy is approximately the same size as a standard rabbit-style vibe, although the control end is angled for ergonomics.

Weight-wise, the control end is just as heavy as a rabbit would be, even though the batteries consume the length of the shaft, instead of the base. I found that I have a much easier time using this toy while wearing some comfy non-lace panties… this way it also supports the end, holding it in the correct angle for my body, so that the electrodes are not pushing upwards or on the pelvic floor – but so that both are just touching where they need and not putting excess stress on either area.

The curve of the control end would also work well if you were to prop your knees up on a pillow, so that the control would rest against it, instead. I found that when it was unsupported by SOMETHING, an improper angle would almost always be found and the sensation of the e-stim would be unpleasant, rather than stimulating.

Cleaning and care are both easy and painful at the same time. It's as simple as a quick wash, making sure not to get the seam wet between the controller handle and the insertable balloon portion of the toy, with antibacterial soap and water, followed up by a quick spritz of antibacterial toy cleanser to take care of any soap residue left behind. THEN the problem begins. It's a lint-collector, like most of the softer, rubbery-type silicone items are. You have to use specific types of towels to dry it; otherwise you'll end up with towel fuzzies all over it. And you can store it in the box, although it's pretty pointless if you've just cleaned it to stick it back in the flocked tray, so that's gotta go unless you cover it with something else - then the lid won't fit anymore. And who wants to toss the flocked tray that's specifically molded to fit the toy? It's not like you're going to put it back in an emptied-out box, to take up more room in whatever closet or drawer you put it in. I threw mine, rolled up in a flour-sack-type towel, into the nightstand after removing the batteries. Easy to access, clean, and lint-free thanks to the type of towel I used. A sheet fragment or pillowcase would also do the trick so that it’s not getting lint-ified after cleaning.

For the first few days I tried different methods. The first day, just kind of testing the e-stim, almost afraid to try it out, I was pleasantly surprised. While I could feel "electricity," on the first two levels, it felt like a "wave" more than anything. Once I got to level three however, upon the first pulse that I really felt, I instantly came. I left it between levels three and five the first night, playing only for maybe 30 minutes before I was completely wiped out. I found that even at those low levels, I'd completely (unknowingly) flooded the bed. Sheet change #1.

The second night, I wanted to find out just how far I could take the e-stim, since it was obviously "doing something right." I laid down two folded beach towels beneath my midsection, popped on the evening news (I wasn't trying to play; I was just trying to relax, exercise, and see what level I could handle). After orgasming uncontrollably three or four times, my body realized that I was trying to find my limits. With each press of the button, the kegel contractions increased and I began feeling my stomach and thighs tightening, as well. Once I reached 8 and went to progress to 9, I realized it was far too strong and becoming uncomfortable, so I backed the levels down again. Too late, apparently… This was approximately an hour's worth of work to get to this point. So much for towels. Sheet change #2.

The third night, I noticed it was very snug attempting to get the e-stim shaft inside me, uninflated... so I left it at lower levels and used the clitoral stimulator and just "played" with Intensity. Do I need to mention Sheet change #3? It was either that, or sleep completely wiped out in a puddle. I opted for dry sheets. That night, I started with just the e-stim shaft for both kegel and pelvic floor stimulation, and only added the clitoral stimulator as a bonus. I slowly ramped up the stimulus on the e-stim shaft to again test my limits. Thus far, I have only been able to make it to level 8 of 10. And level 8 was really pushing it, and only after several hard orgasms on lower levels.

This, apparently, over the course of three consecutive days, was too much use for me. I woke up the next morning with every muscle from my thighs to my midsection in a full-on cramp because of the tightness. I felt like I’d run a marathon! That's good news, right? Well, yeah, but maybe I should be using it every OTHER night.
