Is Uno Better than Nothing? Maybe!

You all know how important Kegel exercise are, right? Agreed! The Uno is a Kegel exerciser that works best because it makes you think about the exercises you are supposed to be doing every day. However, if you forget about the ball, you definitely won't be exercising subconsciously like some may think. This is a tool you can use to help, but it is not a means to an end by itself...you need remember to squeeze!

Use

Vaginal health exercisers are used to strengthen PC muscles which can weaken due to age, pregnancy and childbirth, or other medical conditions. Kegel balls are a great option for people looking to work out the PC muscles! The Uno is a particularly good option because they are easy to use and maintain, and do help with your Kegel muscles.

Unfortunately, even though men have PC muscles, this is a female-only item (sorry guys!). You really can't use this incorrectly. These are great to use whenever, but particularly fun when doing the rest of your exercises, cleaning the house, or maybe out shopping or playing.

This is absolutely a travel friendly toy...I doubt most people would even be able to identify it if they saw it. It is waterproof and easy to bring anywhere. I cannot hear any type of rattle when it is inserted, so rest assured no one will know you're wearing it!

Material / Texture

The Uno is made of medical grade silicone, which is believed to be one of the safest materials you can use for your intimate parts...it's the same material that is used in lots of medical supplies that you find in the hospital. This toy feels firm to the touch, and the retrieval string is extremely stretchy (sometimes I feel nervous that I am going to break it, but it hasn't happened yet!). I did not detect any tastes or smells on it. It has a subtle texture, like the silicone was wrapped around a core, though it seems like it was cast all at once. Overall it is smooth, and should slide inside the vaginal canal easily.

Of course, no one's going to see the color of your ball when you're wearing it, but I really appreciate the fun colors, and having so many choices when I was shopping!

Design / Shape / Size

This toy is 5" long overall (the ball plus the retrieval loop), and the ball itself has a 4 3/4" circumference. It weighs in at 44 grams (0.097 pound). The ball is a slight oval.

I think this ball is rather large...when it is inserted, it feels firmly held in place by my vagina without flexing or squeezing my muscles. I believe this should fit the majority of women, especially if they have had a prior childbirth. I found the Uno easy to insert thanks to the indent at the bottom of the ball, betwen the legs of the loop. It's just like inserting a tampon without an applicator. It inserts best with a dab of your favorite water based lube, but honestly I have gotten it in without lube, instead using just a rinse of water.

The ball is stylish, and it's nice to have an option that looks different from the usual ball or egg. It is not an obvious sex toy, or a sexual item, which I appreciate.

Performance

First off, I found this easy to insert. Admittedly, I have used a menstrual cup for the past few years, so I am comfortable with shoving things up there! If you have any issues, I advise you to use lube, and try your best to relax your vaginal muscles while pushing it in with your fingers. For removal, it's best to bear down as well as pull on the loop. I can usually pop it out without much effort.

There is an inner ball in the Uno, though while rattling it in my hand, I can tell it's a large ball that doesn't have too much room to jiggle. I can feel the rattle when jumping or gyrating (basically when I'm trying to move the inner ball), but I rarely feel it when I'm going about my normal business.

Some Kegel balls, this one included, seem to imply that you will be working out your PC muscles simply by wearing them, and while I don't have a reliable way to measure how much my muscles are working, I don't think the Uno is small enough to force me to work them out. I liken it to wearing my menstrual cup, if you're familiar with them...once it's up there, it's up! There is no sensation of it falling out, thus my vaginal and pelvic floor muscles don't seem to be stimulated unless I consciously squeeze them (the same as when you do them without any ball).

However, I think the Uno has one very important function--to remind you to do your Kegel exercises, and make them a bit easier. I always found Kegels without a ball to feel strange...what exactly should I be flexing? But between literally having the ball inside, and being able to visualize it there when I'm squeezing makes Kegels make a lot more sense to me. Not to mention I tend not to forget it's up there (unless I'm really distracted), so I'm easily reminded to squeeze!

I admit I haven't felt a huge difference since I started using these (on and off) about 5 months ago. I am still young, and have never given birth, and don't have orgasm troubles, so I wonder if I started using this with somewhat in-shape vaginal and pelvic floor muscles? But in my opinion, it's like exercising even though you have an ideal BMI - the exercise helps prevent any future issues, and keeps you in the shape you are.

I definitely recommend the Uno to anyone interested in Kegel exercises, or to anyone with leakage issues, during and after pregnancy, or if you can feel that you have weak muscles when trying to do these exercises on your own. Plus, they are cute, affordable, and a fun item to play with throughout the day!

Care and Maintenance

The Uno could not be easier to care for! Since it has no motor, and no holes or crevices to worry about, I just clean it in the sink with soap and water. You could also clean it in the shower while you are in there.

I store it in my bathroom closet so it's available to me when I want to insert it, though you could easily store this just about anywhere since it's so small. If you are wearing it outside of the house, it would be easy to stash in your purse if you wanted to take it out.

Please use water based lubes only with this toy!

Experience

I think this is a fun toy to play with, and though I cannot be sure it has increased the strength of my PC muscles, it makes me feel good to know I'm doing my Kegel muscles just like our doctors tell us to! I also enjoy the sensation of having a sexy little secret hidden inside of me throughout the day.
