Namaste harmony - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Buttercup Green

If you are thinking that this looks like a weird whale, then you and I think alike. The Harmony is unfortunately not a whale, but it does blow out some intense power. This is a toy meant for clitoral stimulation, but it can be used to stimulate anywhere on the outside of the body. I would not suggest anyone to attempt to insert this toy anally or vaginally. I say no anal play because it doesn't have a flared base. I say no vaginal play because the cover has some sharp edges that may be painful, and bodily fluid could get trapped in the charging port. If you plan to share this with a partner, a condom or dental dam would be wise.
For those that love whimsical and different designs, Harmony is definitely up your alley. It features a magnetic cover, which can be used on or off the toy. I really did not understand the function of this until I had it in my hands. It is a cool feature, and I think it really adds to the toy's appearance. While this may not be a powerhouse, like most massagers, it definitely packs a solid 4 vroom punch. The design is perfect for beginners, as it is not intimidating. It is also perfect for those that need to be discreet in terms of looks not noise level. However, if you find yourself playing in the tub every time (because that is the only place you have some privacy), then I am sorry to tell you that this is not a waterproof toy. Since this toy does not have a locking feature, and no storage pouch, I wouldn't travel with this because it could very easily turn on.

Harmony is made out of PU coated plastic. This is just plastic with a velvety coating to help it feel more sensuous. Most plastic toys are shiny, and they require very little lube. Toys with a PU coat are more matte in texture, and they tend to need more lube. Speaking of which, water and silicone based lubes can be used with this toy. PU coated plastic is latex/phthalate free, and it rates a 7 on the Eden safety scale. This material is very rigid and firm. The only parts of this toy that has any give are the push button that cycles through the patterns and the charging port cover. Both of these are black, which helps it blend into the vibe. Both also feel like it is made out of a rubber-like material. The entire toy arrived without any smells or tastes. The curvy and wavy body has some indented wavy lines that provide some texture, and it also provides a great grip area for slippery fingers. I don't see this bothering anyone as the edges are nicely rounded. The only sharp points on the toy are the ends, which can provide some pinpoint stimulation. The white magnetic cover also has some fairly sharp edges. Without the white cover, there is a large noticeable seam that easily collects lube and other fluids. With the white cover, there is a gap between the cover and the actual toy, which again can and will collect fluids. The seam can barely be felt, but the gap between the two pieces can definitely be uncomfortable on sensitive parts.

This toy's shape isn't the most unusual. It reminds me of Life and Bcurious. I don't have Life, but I do own the Bcurious. I have to say that Harmony's vibrations definitely beat Bcurious. They are more powerful, and they are deeper. However, I prefer the small shape of the Bcurious. It fits better in my hand. While the Harmony's design is ergonomic, it is a little large for it to fit in my hand comfortably. The white portion is a cover that has two magnets in it. This cover protects the charging port from any fluids, lint, or hair. The cover can be removed, and the toy can be used with or without it. One magnet is located at the tip, and the other is located a little over halfway in the cover. The means that the other tip is not really secured, which causes it to rattle when the vibrations are turned on. This does not, however, make this toy waterproof or even splash proof. With or without the cover, this toy has two pointed ends, which can be used for pinpoint stimulation. The top and bottom portion of the toy can be used for a more broad stimulation. The overall design is pretty whimsical, and it is more discreet than most. This toy is best suited for those who enjoy artistic and different toys.

Even though this toy came with no instructions, the box tells you that it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to charge. The box didn't state whether or not the toy could be overcharged, but I would guess that it can be. Just be sure to set a timer or something to let you know when the 1 1/2 hour is up. I say to set a timer mainly because when the toy is plugged in, there are no light indicators to let the user know when it is charging properly and when charging is complete. To charge, simply plug the smaller end of the cord into the USB charging port located on the backside of the toy, and plug the bigger end into the USB slot of a computer. The charge so far has lasted me through three 30 minute sessions.
To turn the toy on, simply press the button located on the top. This button has an "8F" on it. This means that the toy has eight functions. When this button is pressed, a purple light will show behind the button. The light flashes along with the patterns. To turn it off, press and hold this button for 3 seconds. When turned back on, the toy will vibrate at the lowest setting. The toy can be used with or without the white cover. Either way you go, you are going to be greeted by a loud noise. With the cover off, the noise is about a 3.5 vrooms. It can definitely be heard through a closed door. With the cover on, the only way I can describe it is to imagine a blender being turned on with ice in it. It is a solid 4 vrooms. I think this is because the white cover isn't completely secure when attached to the toy. There are gaps. The vibrations are very powerful, and they are mostly located in the tip furthest away from the control button. They are a mix between rumbly and buzzy vibrations. The quality of the vibrations really surprised me. I expected them to be really buzzy. The following are the eight functions:
1.)Low steady vibes
2.)Medium steady vibes
3.)High steady vibes
4.)High long pulses
5.)High fast and short pulses
6.)Escalating low to high, then back down to low
7.)Low pulse, Medium pulse, High pulse and repeat
8.)Two short medium pulses followed by one long high pulse

Since this toy isn't waterproof, special care is needed when cleaning. I suggest a damp cloth or a toy wipe. I would not put this toy under running water. The only part that can be cleaned under water is the detachable white cover. I pay extra attention to the seams. A simple run of a fingernail should take care of any fluids that may be trapped. Allow the toy to fully dry before charging it. Since it is plastic, a cloth can be used to wipe any excess water off the toy without lint sticking to the surface. The original packaging can be used as storage, but I much prefer to store it in my vibrator drawer. As said before, water and silicone based lubricants can be used with the Harmony!

I am in the middle when it comes to Harmony's packaging. I don't love it, and I don't hate it. It came in a thin, cardboard box. The box is surprisingly informative, but unfortunately the information on the box is the only information you get. This toy doesn't come with a manual or instructions. The box tells you that this toy features a 1 hour and 30 minute quick charge time, which is definitely useful. There is a diagram of the toy on the back that breaks down each feature of the toy. Limited information is better than no information at all. The entire toy is visible through the front window of the box. Harmony and the USB cord sits in a molded plastic tray. Since the front window is an open one, the plastic tray would have to be kept in order to use the packaging for future storage. I just prefer to store it next to my other toys, since it doesn't collect hair. The overall packaging could be improved, and it would make an alright gift if being discreet is not an issue.

While I love the design and the powerful vibrations, I just cannot stand the noise. Without the cover, the noise is more of a rattle, but it still bothers me. It distracts me from what I am trying to accomplish (having an orgasm). For those who want a rechargeable toy without the high price tag, and do not mind the noise, the Namaste Harmony is definitely a toy to look at.
I am on the fence about the white magnetic cover. It serves a purpose, but it just seems pointless sometimes. The charging port is covered by a rubber-like material, so why go to the trouble of adding another one? It really adds to the physical appearance, but other than that I could do without it. The vibrations will be enough for almost everyone, and I was able to orgasm with it. However, it was a shallow orgasm. I wish I could give you a great experience story, but I haven't had a memorable experience with this toy yet. Hopefully this is just me. I hope others will get a joy out of this toy.
