useful review
I've always been a fond patron of the simple plastic vibe (my very first toy was one). Despite the view by some that they are "cheap" or "forgettable," I've never found anything to hate about them. The Waterproof Candy Cane only reinforces my view on the topic.

The W-P Candy Cane has no hidden frills. It's a simple, smooth plastic vibe about 7" long with an insertable length of 6" (I myself can only get 5" in, but that just means I have more of a handle to grab onto). It uses two AA batteries and operates with a turn-dial base. As its name suggests, it's also waterproof, so you can take it into the shower. The paint job, which gives the toy the other half of its name, is simply adorable, even beautiful - if perhaps a bit tacky.

It's a fairly strong vibe for its size and construction. One nice thing about plastic is that it transfers vibration well. This toy is just as useful as a nipple or clitoral stimulator as it is as a vaginal toy. It's even strong enough that you can use it to massage any sore muscles, though it may make your hand a tad numb with extended use. It's also fairly loud. The lowest setting probably couldn't be heard through a closed door, but the highest can be heard over the shower, especially if nothing is gripping the tip. However, when it's in use I'd say the WPCC (she said with increasing laziness) isn't loud enough to be really distracting.

Being plastic, any lube can be used. Quite frankly, the paint job just screams "Put something flavored on me!" I can easily imagine using some peppermint or strawberry lube on this vibe (or grape or blueberry since this toy comes in three colors), even if only for the novelty of it. And cleaning is easy. It can't be sterilized through bleaching or boiling, but toy cleaner or soap and water work very well. The smooth plastic wipes clean without any fuss and the waterproofing means you don't have to be too cautious when running it under the sink.

I'd recommend this toy to anyone who would like a very simple, affordable vibe that still has some oomph to it. It's worth your nineteen bucks, trust me.
Experience
As suggested by the title of this review, just looking at this thing activates my sweet tooth. I've got some strawberry lube on the way that will hopefully make it even more fun to use.

The toy works pretty well on sore muscles (though it's not as good as some other toys or an actual back massager). I actually pulled it out after a toy-less session in order to bring my tired arm back to life. I'm of the opinion that the more uses you can get out of something, the better, and in this way the Waterproof Candy Cane has become my favorite all-plastic toy - displacing another toy that held that title for almost three years!

I would like it to be a bit quieter, but I'm not really complaining. My hearing is fairly sensitive anyway, so your experience with the noise level may be a bit different.
Follow-up commentary
Well, it's not so much that I don't like it, as I'm severely disappointed and surprised at how it died.

Sometime at the start of July, my WPCC would shut off if the dial was cranked all the way up. Odd, but nothing I couldn't live with. Just recently, I opened it up to find that the battery compartment had rusted. The toy hadn't been in the shower for a while, so I'm still trying to figure out how it could have rusted. I'm really puzzled, as other plastic vibes have all lasted at least a year for me (heck, my little one from Spencer's is still going strong three years down the line!), even with my sometimes sub-par care. Can't win 'em all, I suppose.

The nice thing about plastic is that it's inexpensive and easy to replace, so it's not like I'm lamenting my Candy Cane's loss. I'd even consider getting another one to see if this was just a fluke or not (because dangit, I love this paint job!), but probably not for a little while.

Great review. The last time I bought a vibe that was colorful and plastic the lube eventually made the paint chip off, have you had this problem yet?

Can't say I've ever heard of that happening. I mainly just stick to water-based lubes. Not sure if that makes a difference.
