This toy was a disappointment in every way. I would have had more enjoyment with my own hand. Hopefully they'll re-visit this design and upgrade to a softer more realistic tongue in the near future.Published: June 26, 2009

What types of battery does it take and how loud was it?
Hi Lauren, while rotating it unleashed a cold mechanical –Noisy– clatter. The tongue also seemed to have a plastic smell you could never wash away. You can view more review details in my blog review.
Hi Adriana, it takes C batteries and in my experience it was loud enough to be quite distracting. Enough so to eventually ruin the mood!
