LAYAspot! Almost but not quite awesome

This is a perfect toy for people new to vibrators who want something that isn't intimidating. Anyone expecting deep, rumbling vibrations will probably not get much satisfaction from this toy. I have not received earth shattering orgasms from it but it is a nice warm up toy for more serious play. The LAYAspot is a tease.

Use

A good little toy to tease a clit with. The LAYAspot's weak vibrations don't let it do much more than tease unless you happen to be very sensitive. It works nicely for foreplay, especially when in the hands of a thoughtful partner.

With some imagination it can double as a gun in an erotic game of futuristic cops and robbers!

Material / Texture

The LAYAspot is a hard toy wrapped up in a smooth coat. It is made of elastomed which is a nonporous material that is compatible with water and silicone based lubes.

Design / Shape / Size

A splendid thing about the LAYAspot is that it comes in so many color options. There are ten color schemes to choose from to provide for a wider range of preferences.

Another nice thing about this toy is how small and innocent looking it is. I wouldn't be embarrassed if I accidentally left it out and someone discovered it. Most of the people that I know don't even realize what it's for. That's probably mostly due to the fact that I mainly interact with young ladies who haven't ventured into the world of sex toys.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The LAYAspot has two buttons. One that turns it on or increases the intensity and one that turns it off or lowers the intensity. I really like that I don't have to cycle through all of the settings if I accidentally turn it up higher then I intended to.

It's easy to find and use the buttons. It fits comfortably in the palm of my hand with the two buttons placed in easy reach between pointer and middle fingers. The button that increases the power is quite a bit larger then the button that powers it down and it is closer to the finger tips which makes it much easier to press when in use.

2AAA batteries are used to power this little tease and at first this was perfectly fine. But after a while I noticed that I was going through a small pack of batteries a week. It wasn't always like this. For about the first month I would only change the batteries once every coule of weeks but now (about 7 months later) I can go through twice as many batteries while using my toy a fraction of the time I used it in the first month. Thankfully I have discovered rechargable batteries which have pretty much taken care of this problem.

Care and Maintenance

Since it's splash proof there's no need to worry about wiping it down and getting it a bit wet but trying to sterilize it in boiling water or the dishwasher would probably kill it so I'd advise not taking it that far. An antibacterial cleaner and some warm water is all that's needed for this toy to get squeaky clean and ready for its next use.

This toy has been in the bottom of the toy box for a while now. The last time I used it, the vibrations were incredibly weak; much weaker then I had remembered them being. That's right, after about 6 months of use my first toy began slowly dying and now, over a year later, it has just about reached it's end. I can't say that it will be greatly missed.

Lol - I like the idea of a gun!
I have this and as much as it does do the job for me, it's not a toy I'm keen on. I hate the shape - I think it looks rather different in person than online. And it feels rather cheaply made to me.
My Legamento feels far better quality and it's waterproof.

      not sure but we have the Laya and the better than chocolate ( the music ed) both have their good points, but the laya is a little smaller and compact. Both were really well tho and the music seting is fun feature!

      Some reviewers state that this is a waterproof toy but my instructions clearly state that it is only splashproof. Perhaps the instructions have changed? Maybe Fun Factory decided it wasn't really waterproof? If you have this toy, what did your instructions say?

      Furthermore, a few people said that they received silicone based BodyFluid with their LayaSpot but I received their water based lube and, again, my instructions said not to use silicone based lube (I believe, can't find them).

      Also, I think it's just me but my Layaspot pretty much smelled god awful when I got it. Anyone else?

      Just looking for different experiences with these things..

      I've heard that fun factory toys can stink to high heaven, and I have no idea why they would because they're supposed to be 100% silicone. I have other silicone toys and they don't smell at all. Maybe it's not the toy itself but the packaging that surrounds it? Sorry I'm not much help, but the smell that people talk about with FF toys is enough for me to be wary of buying one.

      I have since pitched my instructions, but I think mine said splashproof rather than waterproof. I got the Toyfluid (water-based) lube, and mine was smell-free! All of my FF toys have been totally odorless, actually.
