Lets Go Clubbing! Well, not really...

For the most part, I believe that this is still a nice toy if one is looking for a small, clitoral bullet and those who don't like very high vibrations. However, those looking for something that is stronger, or if one is wanting it for a vibrator to pulse to the beat of the music, or for it's ambient mode, I'm very sad to say that they will be, unfortunately, left disappointed. I love the idea of this toy, however, I feel that the actual toy did not live up to my expectations.

Use

I believe this toy is best used for clitoral stimulation. While it could be inserted into the vagina, I found that, especially when I was wet it would not stay put and would wind up sliding out of me. That being said, I would *not* recommend this for anal use. Granted, it does have the wire, I would not trust it as far as a sort of removal cord, just to be safe about it.

It comes with the controller box, the bullet, a cord used to plug into your MP3 player and your headphones (or stereo, computer speakers, and so on), and also a free panty.

Personally, when it comes to the free panty, let's just say I am pear-shaped. It seemed to fit me rather well (and the lace waistband was rather stretchy) however, I feel that it was probably around it's limit with me and probably wouldn't fit someone much larger than myself (I have a 46inch hip, and I feel that it could have stretched a couple more inches, but that would be about it).

I found that the Club Vibe is great for foreplay and teasing. While I think that the bullet itself is waterproof (it appears that there is a rubber O-ring where the two halves meet) the controller itself *is not*. This makes this product unsuitable for play in the shower, tub, pool, and the like.

Material / Texture

The Club Vibe is made of plastic with a smooth finish on both the bullet and the controller (think almost like Velvet Cote). I didn't notice any smells or tastes on it.

Design / Shape / Size

The controller itself is rather discreet in design and looks almost like a pager (Length: 3in, Width: 1.5in, Hight: nearly 1 inch). While I do wish it was a wee bit smaller, the primary thing I didn't particularly like about the controller was that the clip to hook it to a waistband was located on the battery compartment, a *very* unwise place to put it.

There were a couple times where, if knocked the wrong way, it would fall off (it even fell off and under the car while I was getting out in a local store's parking lot. Not exactly what I was hoping for, there). I'd say that it kind of takes away from it's discreetness quite a bit.

As for the bullet itself, it's a fairly standard bullet shape (it almost looks like a very large capsule pill and measures in at about 2 inches long and about 2.5 inches in diameter). While I'm not the biggest fan of the seam in the middle of it, it does have a rubber O-ring which, presumably, makes it at the very least water resistant.

I did like that the bullet could be detached from the controller box. Even though the cord is long enough to keep the controller away from water while washing it, I feel that this is a nice touch for those wanting to be extra cautious (the cord to the bullet is about 30 inches long).

That being said, that is another slight downside to this product: the cords. Now, I'm definitely glad that it came with a splitter and that the bullet has a nice, long removable cord. However with the cord from the bullet, the splitter, and then throw in a headphone cord, it's like a mini spaghetti farm. Now, it's not extreme, but some people may find the amount of cords overwhelming or just annoying (results may vary).

Functions / Performance / Controls

*Ambient Mode*: This mode is supposed to let the Club Vibe pick up on and vibrate to the sounds around you, and is where I start to run into issues with this product's performance. Honestly, I found this mode to be a bit of a dud. In testing it out in public and on my own, I discovered that it does not pick up Ambient sounds very well at all. I will say this, it definitely will not pick up on voices in the least, same with music of a moderate or low volume. Which, in all honesty, kind of stinks.

The only way I could possibly foresee it picking up any ambient sounds is if the music was *very* loud (as in, well, a club or concert) or if your lover is yelling at the top of his/her lungs at you like a banshee (which I do not think very many people are into). I researched and looked around at other reviews and found that this is a very common complaint in this toy among people who have used it. Unfortunately, I found it to be quite the letdown, seeing as it says on the box and in the instructions that it can be "Controlled by your lover's voice" as a feature and it really got me excited.

*Manual Mode*: In this setting, one can use it as just a vibrator that you can control without music. There are seven vibration patterns:

1) A very (very) low vibe. I wasn't too impressed with this setting, and at times could barely feel it.
2) A medium setting. This is what I would have liked (intensity-wise) as a "low" setting for this toy.
3) The high setting. Now, I didn't mind this very much, and I liked it, however, I do kind of think this should have been a medium setting, as (while using it) I couldn't help but think "If only it went up by one more intensity level".
4) A series of fast paced buzzes in the toy's highest setting. From my calculations, there are about 235 buzzes per minute. I personally liked this setting probably the most.
5) This cycles through four different settings. Very Low, Low, Medium, and High.
6) This one starts out low and gradually gets stronger. Then it buzzes twice on it's high setting. It then starts over, but gets stronger more quickly than the first time and then buzzes thrice on it's highest setting.
7) The final setting starts low and gradually gets more intense, buzzes on it's highest setting four times and then the intensity decreases to the point where it almost feels as if it's off, then buzzes twice in it's high setting, then starts all over again.

*Music Mode*: Using the included splitter, you can use the Club Vibe to listen to your music and also hook your MP3 player to the toy. On alot of songs, however, I was rather disappointed as it didn't really buzz to the beat of the song. Some songs worked better than others, but I thought that it would vibrate to the beat of the song's bass, which it didn't seem to do so.

I found that even with the instructions, the controls did take a bit of getting used to, but it's not a huge hurdle to overcome and learn. And also, in regards to noise: while the sound is pretty quiet, in it's highest setting it sounds like a cell phone on it's vibration setting. So, in my opinion, the higher settings are better suited to places that aren't very quiet, or else there may be a chance of it being overheard by others.

Care and Maintenance

When cleaning this product, I'd suggest washing the bullet with a toy cleaner or mild soap and warm water (per the instructions).

I would take great care in making sure that the controller does not get anywhere near water. Luckily, the bullet and cord can be removed from the controller, keeping it safe. Should the Controller need cleaning, I would suggest only wiping it down with a cloth lightly dampened in warm water. I suggest the same when it comes to the cords as well.

It comes with a little velvety pouch for storage, with "OhMiBod" embroidered on it. I love when toys include even the simplest pouch, as I personally find them very useful for protecting the toy and keeping it clean and dust, lint, and hair free.
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The toy was packaged in a somewhat discreet and nice package that I believe would be great as a gift and it even includes two AAA batteries to start you out. Inside the box, everything sits in a compartmentalized plastic tray. I personally find that the included pouch does a great job when it comes to storing the Club Vibe.

It comes with a booklet with nicely detailed instructions for the product in *eight* different languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. It tells you everything from how the controls and modes work, to how to clean it, and even how to make your Club Vibe last. It also comes with a one year warranty, which is also detailed in the instruction manual.

Hey Persephone, great review! I'm sorry this one didn't work out for you. I have this same toy, and I had the same issue with the toy falling off the clip while out in public! D'oh!
  • Contributor: Persephone Nightmare
Thanks RedVinylKitty! Yeah, the other couple times it fell off, luckily I wasn't in public and could fix it, but I *really* didn't like that it fell under the car, lol. Even though no one would know what it is, it's still embarrassing to either risk running it over by moving the car, or getting down in the middle of a busy parking lot and trying to fish it out from underneath.

So I definitely think that it should be redesigned or something so that the clip isn't on, technically, the most insecure part of the controller box. I mean, I'm not even a toy designer, and even I have thought of designs that would have been better in that regard.

I swear, I could've thumped the person designed it (and who thought it was a good idea) right on the forehead every time it fell off, lol

Great review! I've been curious about these kinds of vibes (vibrating panties), and now I know that this one probably wouldn't be the best choice. Thanks!

Great review. I've had that falling-out-in-public thing happen before. It was mortifying.

Thank you for the detailed review! Nice to know I should probably avoid this toy. Too bad, it sounded like such a great idea. I'm something of a power queen, though.

Thanks for a great, detailed review. This seems like a great IDEA for a product, just not quite there yet. Maybe version 2.0 will be better...
