Lion Taming: Not Just for the CircusEvery girl should have one of these. A versatile, aesthetically pleasing toy for all of your moods. It's beautiful without losing its playful edge.
Adjustable vibration, texture, fun factor
The Leo is an all-around great vibe from the folks at Fun Factory. It's pleasant to look at; the silicone is soft to the touch and provides great vaginal and clitoral stimulation. The size is perhaps a little on the big side for a beginner, but it is easy to accommodate vaginally with a little lube. The Leo is also great for clitoral stimulation as the vibrations can be felt all the way to the tip of the toy. The vibrations also feel wonderful on the nipples and sensitive inner thighs. It is great in your hands, or your partner’s.
The silicone is soft to the touch and the Leo is flexible but firm. It is odorless and I quite like the orange color. It isn't too bright, but it's still very fun. The textured head and wave ridges along the base provide extra stimulation, without being daunting for beginners or unpleasing while thrusting.
I love the design idea of an astrological vibrator and Fun Factory really captured the Leo theme without making the vibe cartoonish or too life like. The shape is perfect for me, the textured waves really provide great nuanced stimulation and the head at the tip pinpoints the vibrations perfectly without being too angular or hard. It's not a terribly discreet toy, if left lying around anyone would know it for what it is. It is travel friendly once you remove the batteries, because the control knob at the bottom does rotate very easily, risking an accidental activation.
The Leo runs on two AA batteries loaded into the toy under the cap containing the vibration control knob. The knob rotates easily and the vibrations are on a sliding scale, rather than a few preset levels, which I like. It makes the toy highly customizable. The vibrations and noise range from very muted, to quite powerful. The scale of vibrations keeps the toy approachable; it can be enjoyed by beginners and power queens alike. At the lowest setting, the toy is almost silent, but is quite noisy at its strongest. At the highest setting under a down blanket, it was a loud hum to me, but silent from the other side of the door. The toy does a good job of carrying the vibrations along the length of the toy so they could still be enjoyed at the head of the vibrator. The only thing that could make this the perfect vibrator is if it were waterproof, but just like all cats, this one doesn't like to get wet.
Since this toy is made of body safe silicone, it is only compatible with water based lubes. After use I carefully washed it with soap and water, although you could use your favorite toy cleaner, patted it dry and wrapped it by itself. As silicone toys do not play well when stored together, I wrapped it in an old cotton t-shirt. Silicone is something like a lint magnet and left out, this toy will acquire all kinds of fuzz. You could also store it nicely in the plastic shell it came in.
The packaging for the Leo was not discreet, but tactful. An unadorned silver box with a large outline cutout displayed the Leo, which came in a plastic shell. It contained directions and a small booklet showing the rest of the Astrovibes line and a few other Fun Factory vibrators. The box was easy to open and the silver outer box collapsed easily for recycling. You could save the plastic shell to keep the Leo in, but I recycled that as well.
I normally enjoy bullet type vibrators, but the Astrovibe idea caught my eye and the Leo was on sale for $10. What more could you ask for? While I use him plenty for clitoral stimulation, I've found the textured waves and head to be absolutely fantastic vaginally, and he's flexible enough to hit my g-spot. I now have a home for him at the very front of my toy drawer.
