Little Seahorse, You're Such a Tease

As a mini-vibrating bullet/external stimulator this little seahorse didn't fall short. Honestly the fact that it's waterproof, has an impressive vibration level for a single AAA battery. The bullet can be removed for cleaning or more direct stimulation makes this novelty toy a great purchase. I definitely recommend this for beginners or as a cute gift for close friends.

Use

This little swimmer is made to stimulate you externally, wherever you're sensitive and could use a little nuzzle. I see no reason who this cute little creature would discriminate between any type of users either, so men and women just make sure not to insert this toy into an orifice as it's recommended to not be used internally based on the material of the seahorse (not to mention the protruding nose would be uncomfortable).

And if you choose to use this mini-vibrator to tease around the anal sphincter, just beware that it can not be sterilized no matter how well you wash it in the bathroom sink. So if you plan on sharing with non-fluid bonded partners OR to switch between anal and vaginal use, you need to employ a small condom.

As any other marine creature, this little seahorse also is waterproof with a small o-ring to help prevent water leakage into the battery compartment. And, honestly, if you hang this little guy by his tail in the shower and just take the vibrating bullet with you when you're done, no one will have a clue that it's your sex toy. (Though if you don't have kids to blame this "toy" being in the shower on, some people may get ideas.)

Material / Texture

The internal, vibrating bullet is ABS plastic. The external part of the toy, the seahorse, is made of TPE according to the packaging. TPE/TPR material is less porous than cyber-skin but more porous than silicone so, again, I recommend using a small sized condom if anyone plans to share this toy with someone they're not fluid-bonded with. And though the seahorse can not be disinfected, it is easy to clean with toy cleaner or mild soap and warm water in the sink.

There is a slight smell of the toy coming out of the package which diminishes almost completely after an initial washing. The TPE material is thick with a drag to it and, unfortunately, is also a mite sticky and will definitely attract lint, hair, and other undesirables. So wash your seahorse before you as well as after. My favorite part of this material is that it's rigid enough to provide adequate pressure for stimulation but it's soft and flexible enough to have no chance of bruising during use.

Design / Shape / Size

The texture of the body has small, square-shaped bumps and a ridge up its back to the head where it ends in a soft spike. So no one should be limited to the nose and tail of the seahorse for stimulation. If you love a little sensation on your labia or the underside of the penile shaft, the body of the toy will definitely deliver.

The nose ends in a flat point which is amazing for pin-point stimulation, my personal favorite being clitoral. And the "teasing tail" (as described on the packaging) is wonderful to do just that - tease! Lightly use it on yourself or your partner and you'll be squirming soon to get more of this little swimmer.

With the power of the bullet inside, I could actually feel the vibration both in the nose and the tail amazingly well. In fact, my little seahorse's nose quivers when it's turned on and I can physically see the vibration.

With the adorable design as a seahorse, the petite size of the toy, and the variety of soft to moderate stimulation, I would definitely recommend this toy for users of any level. It'd make a wonderful first toy for beginners and an adorable addiction to an advanced users novelty collection (especially if you love cute little creatures).

This toy could be suitable for travel as long as you remove the battery! There is no way to lock the toy and prevent it from being turned on accidentally in your bag. But it won't be terribly embarrassing to be seem in a travel bag at an airport because it's not large or phallic.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I was pleasantly surprised by the intensity of the vibrations in what I expected to be just an adorable novelty toy not intended for heavy use. It won't by any means compare to a toy that takes multiple larger batteries or plugs into the wall, but it's definitely stronger than any cell phone vibrations I've heard or felt. It will be heard under the covers but not likely through a door... Unless someone has their ear pressed against it, in which case they probably will hear it.

The end of the bullet has a single button you push for the vibrations. And there is only one setting so in order to feel different levels of intensity, you need to switch from the tail to the nose to the body. The button can be lightly pressed in rapid succession for controlled pulsing or it can be pressed down harder to be turned on and locked in that position so that you don't have to keep your finger over the button.

Also worth noting is that the battery life is pretty decent for this little bullet. But keep in mind that it can change based off the type of battery you use. There's no reason to use the high level, expensive AAA batteries because it only needs to power one little vibrating bullet and will probably die sooner.

My little seahorse performed well in the water and I found no sign of water in the battery compartment. But I still recommend checking your o-ring first to ensure your seahorse's maiden voyage isn't also the last.
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

To clean this toy, I recommend using mild soap and water or toy cleaner. This toy can't be disinfected so I don't recommend trying or it could ruin the toy. Also, the internal vibrating bullet can be removed to further clean the inside of the seahorse and around the vibrator, which is a major plus.

For storing, it can go anywhere! It's a pretty small little thing and will fit in a dresser drawer, night stand, or hidden in your toy box. I would just recommend keeping it in a plastic bag or sealed in some way to prevent it from picking up lint, hair, and all those other things. But just to be safe, why not wash it before each use anyway?

California Exotics does recommend you use only water-based lubricant with this toy. I personally haven't tested it's compatibility with oil or silicone-based lube. But if you choose to, only expose a little of your toy first to test the material because you wouldn't want to lose the whole toy to it.

Packaging

This little seahorse comes in a plastic display box just as in the product picture. It's not great for gifting or storage and is certainly not discreet. But in one positive note, I think it's adorable.

One real, tangible downside: Battery not included.

Follow-up commentary
This little guy may not get used as often as my other handheld clit vibrators but I will not be giving him up anytime soon. His waterproof capability, adorable design, and travel-friendly size and design is what keeps him in my good graces. This definitely isn't amazingly powerful but a good medium-range speed for the average user for foreplay. So come on in, little seahorse! The water's fine!

I agree, Minxy! I know it has a slight creepy factor for being a little creature but I can't help but think it's positively adorable too!

I would have thought something this tiny would run on watch batteries. Thankfully it doesn't! I hate watch battery toys! And I totally agree, it's beyond adorable.
