Looks can be deceiving

The SinFive Emigi is a great kegel exerciser that will do its job and requires little maintenance. If, for some reason, it doesn't work that well for you, perhaps it will entertain your cat.
Published: July 27, 2010
Pros:
Easy to care for, comfortable, and well-made
Cons:
If you're looking for stimulation from a Kegel exerciser, this won't work.

useful review
Generally I'm not one for cutesy sex toys. For some reason the idea of using a rubber ducky or a little pink to get myself off always seemed weird, no matter how well the toy might work overall. The SinFive Emigi worked its way around this quirk of mine by being a well made, attractive toy that could double as a cute little cat toy.

I had never used a Kegel exerciser, and even though I already did Kegel exercises on my own I was curious to see how the exerciser toys worked. The SinFive Emigi is about six inches long altogether, with at least 2.5 inches of it actually being insertable. To use it I lie on my back and insert it as though it were a tampon. As with tampons, you know it's properly in when you can sense its presence but it doesn't feel uncomfortable or nagging.

I have no sense of distance or length, but the dimensions given by the product description on the main page seem to be accurate. SinFive makes nice toys with relatively nice price tags to match.

The Emigi is made with Antimicrobial material that prevents the growth of microorganisms on the material. As with any toy wash it with mild soap and warm water before and after every use, then dry it and return it to its storage. I have kept mine in its small packaging, because I feel like it shouldn't be blindly tossed in with other toys.

My cervix is at a strange angle, so the Emigi won some extra points with its encased vaginal balls so I wouldn't have to deal with my cervix getting in their way, or vice versa. I think that was actually something that kept me from buying typical vaginal balls before.

I definitely recommend the SinFive Emigi if you're searching for a high quality, inexpensive Kegel exerciser. I'm giving it five stars because I think it's a quality product at a great value, but as with any toy you might find that you have a different experience than I do.
Experience
At the risk of sounding like a total ass, I wasn't sure if Kegel exercisers were actually supposed to be used for masturbation or just exercising the PC muscles.

After inserting it for the first time I sat up and felt a little perplexed for a moment. I'm still not sure if they can be used for stimulation, but after feeling perplexed I got up and went around to finish some housework. I could feel the balls inside of me, but it was never uncomfortable and I just went about my business cooking dinner and contracting my PC muscles.

Since then that's pretty much how I've used the Emigi. I'll pop it in while reading or doing housework and Kegel away. Forgive me, but I still can't tell if they're to be used for stimulation or not. If they are, I haven't really felt much stimulation from them so that might be a downside. When I remove the Emigi it definitely feels like I just had a vag workout, so it's done its job for me.

I like to think this is an obvious note, but this toy is *not* for anal play. Although it has a long removal string, there is no flared base and there's a good chance you'll wind up in a doctor's "ER Horror Story book" if you try to stick it back there.

The more I look at this the more interested I am becoming. I "Kegel" my way through my day, but do not usually use something such as a "toy". I may have to get one of these to try out. Thanks for the review.

LOL no need to work the anal muscles anyhow...they do it all on their lonesome so long as you maintain a healthy diet! I love my glass Ben Wa balls I should give these a try.
Exercisers aren't for stimulation though some women find them to be amazing moving around, it tends to be a bit more of an "I'm doing something naughty" kind of turn on. I have had times where the muscles worked just so and it left me damn near tearing my guys' clothes off when they got home.
I can say without question that they work since I am almost pre-baby tight after using them. After I had my Son (about 8 months ago) the balls were almost too small for me to keep inside but after some persistence I am seeing results!
Excellent review!

You know, I never knew that larger balls could hit the cervix. Now I want this toy just because it doesn't! Thanks for the review.

  • Do you get cramps with Emigi?
    • I've noticed that when I use the Emigi kegel exerciser, I have very mild cramps. Gas anyone else noticed this, or am I just crazy?

Could it be touching your cervix and irritating it?

  • Kegel exercisers
    • Which is the best kegel exerciser? I've read good things about the sinfive emigi and luna pleasure beads and hte ami system. I would like some opinions on hte best one. I've had two children vaginally so it's probably about time I start toning things up.
    • As a male I find the Pure Plug anal toys from Njoy to be good for doing kegels. I suppose if you were a woman you could do a DP kegel routine!(nerd)
    • The Emigi seems like a great way to start! I really like my Loa, but they're kind of large! The Ami seems like the best (but is a bit pricey) because you get 3 and can steadily increase the difficulty!

  • Why is it only safety rating 8?
    • The material section says that it is non porous, phthalates free, and anti-bacterial, so why is the safety rating only an 8? I bought this and the g-ki for my birthday and they are arriving today, but I just became worried that I might have a yeast infection or something. I'm so disappointed that I might have to wait to use my new toys, but I don't think it is safe to use them if I have one, right? I don't want to contaminate my toys?

    • You can't boil it! Toys that you can boil get a higher safety rating!

  • Am I using Emigi right?
    • I just got this and I've used it for a couple of days. I feel nothing. Absolutely nothing when it's in me. The only time I do is when I have it placed closer to my vaginal opening and the feeling isn't pleasurable and the thing slips out. How far in is this toy supposed to go? And am I supposed to feel it or is it still going to work if I don't?

I believe it sits right inside - I tried it closer to my opening too but it was mighty uncomfy. I felt the exact same as you. Emigi does NOTHING for me. It's like I'm not even using it. In my opinion, it's useless. But a lot of people love it.
It was my first kegel toy and I was disappointed.

But then I bought the Lelo Luna Beads which are pricey but SOOOOOOO worth it.
Any slight movement and you will feel the internal balls moving with ease! They are fabulous (inlove)
I find the girdle is too long for me so I just use one of the balls inserted on it's own. I cut the string off mine cause I find them easy to push out using ya muscles. One day I must try inserting 2 balls, but I'm not sure there's enough room to have both in, for me.

If you want to feel the internal balls moving around, I highly suggest Luna Beads! I LOVE mine.

Thanks, but the last thing I will do is spend more money on something that may not work. Besides, the Luna beads are too big for me. I've never had anything bigger than 4 inches in circumference in me so that's my limit.

If I put Emigi in and gently pull on the string to get it to move a little more down, I can feel some pressure and it feels pretty good. It also doesn't fall out unless the tail end is further towards my vaginal opening.

I don't know if it's all because I'm too loose or my muscles are too weak, but I am hoping that with a little more practice, I will get this thing to work.

  • SinFive Emigi Kegel Improvements
    • So I was ready another review of the SinFive Emigi and am thinking of getting this for my wife. Obviously the purpose of it is to strengthen your kegels so I thought it might be good to make an area where those that have used it can post back about how it has or hasn't helped them.

I almost didn't get the Emigi because several things I read said about it being for beginners. I dont feel like a beginner,..but I guess I am because it can slip out on me on occasion,...so I guess I have kegel work to do,..... but two 9 lbs babies will do that ;-) Feels good, comfortable

  • WTP or Elastomer?
    • I sat down this evening and wanted to write a review of my Emigi, and started to read carefully the instructions, where it said it was made of elastomer. However, in the product description, it says it is made of WTP, which a type of thermoplastic.

I can only see Sinfive products that fall in that material category, and I was wondering if it called WTP by Edenfantasys because it has those antimicrobial properties and received a bonus point in the material safety scale (8 for WTP, and 7 for Elastomer)? I'm asking because some of you know that I write product sheet about materials on my blog, and I'm not to sure how to deal with that material. It looks like I could include a note about WTP in a main page about 'Elastomer', but I'd like to make sure i would be correct. However, I can't find what it stands for, and if anyone knew, it would really be helpful.
    • I'm not sure... but I would try contacting the manufacturer. Furthermore, I would always go with the information provided with the toy rather than on a website where someone might input the wrong info.
    • oh... I just realized what WTP was.... What The Pfuck!? Okay, that was lame, but I crack myself up.

  • It Looks So Cute And Tiny!
    • I can't help it, i want one. But... only 1 review? Will there be more? Who has one? I'm just kinda disappointed there's no blue one. The pictures make the purple one seem dark, but others have shown it to be lighter and more blueish. Anyone have the plum one and can tell for sure what it looks like?

I also like the fact it's small and less intimidating than smart balls, which I have always debated getting. For a decent price and a small compact shape, I might have to get these and see what all this kegal exercising is all about. :P

Anyone else gonna pick one of these little peanuts up? :P (It looks like a peanut to me, lol.)

We just got these last week, I think, so at least one more review should be coming out soon. :)
    • I'm hoping to review it eventually! Darn only-one-a-month thingy and being broke!
