Love Candy Not So Sweet

I was underwhelmed with this toy. I had very high expectations for it. It looks wonderful, and high class, it has a good cause that some of the proceeds go towards, it has ambidextrous controls, a nice storage container... but that is where it stops. It has very weak vibrations, is way too small for my liking, and both of the ones I received were broken. I had to combine parts from both to get it to work, so I believe this toy is very cheaply made.

Use

This vibrator is probably best used for clitoral stimulation or thrusting. It doesn't have a g-spot bend, and it's not really strong enough for all over the body use. It's pretty quiet so it would work well if you have room-mates or you live in a dorm or with your parents. It would probably be best for someone who is more sensitive to vibrations. If you find that a lot of vibes are too strong for you, then this might just work great for you, but if you need something with a little more, "Oomph.", I suggest a pass on this one.

Material / Texture

The material is PU coated ABS plastic, which is a 7 on the eden safety scale. It feels really smooth, almost silky I would say. It is not flexible in any way, and it is not plush. It's firm, hard plastic. The PU coating gives it a bit of drag, so I recommend using a bit of either water or silicone based lube. It's not as much drag as say a silicone toy, but it definitely has small amount of drag. The nice thing, is that you get that silken touch feeling you get from a silicone toy, but you can use a longer lasting silicone lube. There is a lingering odor, even after several washes. The smell brings to mind the scent of a rubber band ball. I know that sounds odd, but that is exactly what it makes me think of. The good thing is that it has absolutely no taste, which I find odd seeing as it has a pretty strong odor.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is about the only redeeming quality of this toy for me. I think the design of the cancer ribbon is awesome, and the pink on black is absolutely stunning. The left-handed and right handed button options are amazing, in more than one way. First of all, and most obvious, it is convenient for people with either dominant hand. Secondly, though, it is awesome because it makes it easy to switch hands when you get tired of using the other. I do wish it was a bit bigger, at an unimpressive 5 insertable inches (6 1/2 inches total), and a 1 inch diameter, it leaves much to be desired. It might be a good option for someone who is a beginner to sex toys, because it is certainly not intimidating, but if you are into toys that provide a filling sensation then the Prevail is not for you.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy has five different types of vibrations. The first three being the standard, Low, Medium, High, followed by two different types of patterns. The buttons light up, making it easy to find and control in the darkness. I think this toy has some type of tendency to short circuit. The first one I received did not work, so I sent it back. Surprise, the second one did not either. I decided to try changing out the screw on caps for them and amazingly it worked. For some reason or another there was a bad connection in the battery compartment. In my honest opinion, it's made poorly. For thirty dollars, you could get a bigger, stronger vibrator that doesn't come with all the short circuiting baggage.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is pretty simple to take care of. You can sanitize it with a 10% bleach and water solution, use a bit of soap and water, or use your favorite toy cleanser or wipes on it. It comes with a nice storage container and bag, however I have to say the bag is absolutely useless. You have to fight with the toy to get it into the bag, and I find that pointless. I prefer to just slide the toy into the faux leather tube that was provided. It stays in place even if you tip it upside down, but is easily removed, no fuss.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
It's still not one of my best toys. I only really use it when my husband wants to. I love the cause it is for, but aside from that, I would never buy it.
