Love it! Until it’s out of juice.
Despite its relatively short charge time, I love the Tango. Lots of power in a small, quiet, cute, waterproof, easy-to-clean package. It has a place in my nightstand, but can often be found under my pillow, super-accessible, ‘cause you never know when you just might want a little something, y’know?Published: November 18, 2011
Pros:
Quiet, strong, rechargeable, discreet, easy-care, waterproof, nice patterns, partner-friendly.
Cons:
Loses charge, some might find it jumpy/slippery, discreet=easy to lose.
There are several good factual overviews of this product, so I’m going to focus on the stuff most important to me about the Tango.
I did that thing that I suspect many women do, which is have a pretty cool collection of sex toys, then stop using them for a couple of years while kids are little and your sex life limps along, and then suddenly rediscover your sex drive, only to find that your sex toys are all scattered in different places from random and rare use, and most of them are in various states of decay or totally antiquated. The Tango is one of my first new-generation toys, and here’s why I decided to get it and how it has lived up to those priorities:
1. Silence. It’s great. Not absolutely silent, but the sound stays close by, if that makes sense. There are some settings where I think “do I actually hear that, or am I just feeling it because I’m right next to it?”
2. Power. I wanted strongish vibrations, like 4-4.5 vrooms. The Tango lives up to that. In fact, at the lowest/slowest setting, I almost find it TOO “thuddy.” Almost. The only downside is that given its size, it can jump around in your fingers a lot. Like if you have the flat “lipstick” side aimed at your clit and you’re trying not to hold it with a death grip, you can find it twisting in your fingers. And while I didn’t find it to lose power significantly with pressure, I do use it more lightly than most vibes. I think that maybe it’s that, when held with a lighter grip/lighter pressure, that same “jumping around” that’s a little annoyance for your hand and positioning also serves to create a nice friction/rubbing sensation.
3. Versatility. Although you can’t insert it (much) vaginally, and shouldn’t insert it anally, you can put it anywhere else that wants vibration. And it has a variety of ways you can position it (lengthwise, using the point, using the flat end, etc.) And it can sub in for the cheap bullet vibes that come with some toys and get inserted into them (e.g., some dildos, vibrating cock rings, etc.)
4. Ease of care. It’s plastic, compatible with virtually any lube (and so smooth that it doesn’t require lube). It’s waterproof, so you don’t have to be careful about washing it. And it doesn’t have dirt-friendly texture or seams. Honestly, when I’m just using it externally, without lube, I don’t feel like it’s getting particularly dirty in the first place, so I pretty much wipe it off and then clean more thoroughly after several uses. (Hopefully that’s not some kind of promotion of terrible hygiene or something.)
The Tango exceeded my expectations on all these fronts. Another pleasant surprise was that I like its patterns. (Ordinarily I experience patterns as extraneous “menu items” I have to scroll past in order to get to what I *really* want.) I’m still just playing around with them and using the steady vibrations when I’m ready for the Main Event, but they’re my favorite patterns on any vibe I’ve tried. I’m most surprised that I like the “cha cha” setting: “Buzz. Buzz. Buzz-buzz-buzz.” Who knew?
Something I don’t like: I’ve had the Tango run out of juice on me. The company says the charge lasts “up to” 2 hours, and I definitely lose track of time, but I’m pretty confident that I haven’t done so for 2 hours. More like 30 minutes, using the higher settings a lot, but I haven’t actually timed it. I’ll make sure to do that for my follow-up. Don't get me wrong--it doesn't *always* run out, or even half the time--but when it does it's a huge bummer, and naturally always occurs right as I'm heading for the home stretch.
Related to that, I’ve noticed that when the charge is getting low, if I turn it off for whatever reason, it won’t start up again; it just makes a little clicking sound rather than starting and then powering down as it runs out. I think of this as the toy’s polite way of saying “don’t bother; I’m about to run out.”
But, here’s how much I like the Tango: I’m seriously considering getting a second one for back-up charge. Or maybe the Salsa to mix it up a bit while keeping the general idea.

Experience
(this is really just a continuation of the above review)
The only other, very minor negative for me is that I’ve found the Tango easy to lose. I haven’t actually lost it, more like I’ve gotten up to go pee and then had to fling pillows and covers around to find it. This isn’t a true complaint, however, because it’s really just the flip side of how amazingly tiny and discreet it is. I've had a cell phone that was actually too small for me, and similarly, it's probably possible to hit a point with a vibrator where smaller isn't better and you actually want more heft and less lose-ability. For me, though, the Tango is still a great size.

Does the Tango have lights like the Salsa?
-
I was wondering if the Tango has any lights on it like the Salsa does?
-
I have both of these, and yes, it does.

Yes, it does.

We-Vibe salsa/tango vs Lelo Mia
-
well i see 4-5 vrooms vs 3 and i make my choice right there.
BUT the Mia has a usp port charger and is slightly larger.
has anyone tried the two? I have noticed that the we-vibe touch is WAY stronger than the we-vibe 3 but I haven't had a chance to feel either of these great silicone rechargeable bullet type clit vibes. -
Quote: well i see 4-5 vrooms vs 3 and i make my choice right there. The Salsa and Tango are both stronger than Mia. Some people say the Salsa and Tango are a 4 but I rated them a 5. Either way, they are both very powerful and should do it for just about anyone when it comes to clitoral stimulation. You got 4 levels of vibrations and 4 "tease" modes with the Tango and Salsa. LELO is a great company but I recommend the Tango and Salsa if you're looking for powerful clitoral stimulation. I own the LELO Siri and I find my We-Vibes to be stronger but they are all nice. To me, I thought the We-Vibe II was a four on the vroom scale. I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed if you go with one of the We-Vibes :).

I love my Mia and the fact that she is USB charged. She's awesome for me. Not super strong but I don't need much. I'm also a bit turned off by Salsa and Tango's controls, but that's just me. I really don't like single button controls on vibes. By the way, Salsa and Tango are plastic, which Mia is also, not silicone.

We-Vibe salsa and tango silicone or plastic?
-
I am confused. i was all ready o buya we-vibe tango until i read vbthat it is made of plastic. then i hopped on over to a canadian website and was told that its the same silicone as the other we-vibe products. it certainly looks like the same material
-
The reviews seem to agree that they're plastic.

I wasn't into plastic until I seen one of them in action in a store and I was sold. It's easier to clean than silicone which is a plus. It glides nicely on the body. For the strength and functions it's worth it and I got over hating plastic real quick! The We-Vibe touch is silicone so you may want to check it out. I own the We-Vibe II and I plan to buy the touch at some point though I did get to hold each one in the store and the silicone makes the vibrations slightly less intense than the Tango and Salsa but it's still a nice powerful toy and they are all rechargeable, can't beat that!

Not on sale?
-
I jumped for joy when I saw that all vibrators were on sale for 25% off... but it seems that the stuff from We-Vibe (including the Tango, which I'm pining for) is not. Anybody know what's going on? Is there some fine-print exclusion I'm not seeing?
I intend to submit a support ticket, but I thought I might as well ask here first to see if I could get a quicker answer. :) -
Actually on the banner on the main page it says that it's not valid for Jimmyjane, Jopen, JeJoue, and some other brands.

But I got a reply from Megan that confirmed some brands are excluded. Still kind of lame - I see "all vibes" and think "all vibes," you know? It's a bummer, but I suppose it won't kill me to hold off for now. :P Might go ahead and get Fun Factory's UFO instead. :D

We-Vibe Tango Vs Salsa
-
The website says that the motors are identical in both, as well as the settings and materials. The only difference is supposed to be the shape of the tip; the salsa is pointed and the tango is lipstick shaped.
Why is it then that the Salsa has five vrooms but the tango has four..? Has anyone held both to compare them? -
I think the only difference between them is the shape.
-
I think the motors are the same, and the vroom ratings (if I'm not mistaken) depend on how reviewers rate it. Different people may have different opinions on how powerful a given toy is, depending on their preferences, and which toys they compare it to. I think the only difference is the shape of the tip and the colors offered - the motor, materials, charging is all the same.

We-Vibe tango – discreet massager

His baby 2009I like the way the charger is.. How long does it take to charge && How long befor it dies after a full charge?? -
Quote: I like the way the charger is.. How long does it take to charge && How long befor it dies after a full charge??We have the Salsa and the Touch. They both use the same charger. The Salsa and the Tango are identical products except the Tango has a lipstick type tip and the Salsa is smooth all around. The first time we charged one of them it took about 3-4 hours for the light to go off. Since then, we have used one or the other of them for up to two hours without noticing a drop in power. Hope that helps.

Fairy Mini VS The Hitachi Magic Wand
-
What's your personal preference between the two and why?
-
we have only used the hitachi. It is strong on the vibs. I mean strong. We cant use it on high.
-
A comparison between the Hitachi and the Fairy
I came to conclusion that I wanted to join the clit club and buy the Hitachi. But then I discovered the Fairy. I wrote a whole post about them, comparing and decided to get the Fairy wand because where the Hitachi has only two settings the highest setting only goes to 5,000RPM, and with the Fairy? It has more speed control and the high setting goes to 8,000RPM.
To make a long story short?
I say Fairy. Stronger, more powerful, various size heads depending on which Wand you get, more control and cheaper. With the Mini Wand having some real nifty attachments as well.

Thank you for viewing We-Vibe tango – sex toy review page!

thanks for the review!
Fantastic review, thank you!
The time it holds its charge seems kind of low.
