Masturbate to Jimmy Buffet (or NIN, whatever) Video!
The Freestyle is a vast improvement over all other musically charged vibrators. It's wireless, rechargeable, incredibly customizable with it's sensitivity dial and option to use it without music and when used to music, it functions far better than others I've tried. The Freestyle has set the bar very, very high in the mp3 vibrator categoryPublished: December 30, 2009
Pros:
Very customizable and multi purpose, music and non music settings, strong
Cons:
loud, case is hard to open
I apologize for the video length but I wanted to really show exactly how this thing vibes to the music. And, well, I babble a lot...
So. The Freestyle. Much talked about, cooed over, raved about, lusted for, hyped. Is it as good as the hype?
It is. It really is.
Let's start with the basics, hmm?
The Freestyle by OhMiBod, connoisseurs of mp3 vibrators, is 8 inches long and just over an inch in diameter; slim but not skinny, long but not too long. Pretty much perfect for just about anyone.
It's plastic with a velvety coating so it provides a small amount of friction and can be used with any lube you choose if you want to reduce that friction.
It's wireless, rechargeable, multi function. And, yes, it vibrates in time to the music of your choice.
The Freestyle comes in a terrific white box which houses a charger, multiple adapters for all the various sorts of outlets you could possibly come across, here or abroad, and a lovely storage case for the vibe itself.
The storage case is hard plastic and closes very securely. In fact, it's a bit hard to get open! Inside the case is the Freestyle and it's connection dongle thingy to hook it to your iPod, mp3 player, computer, stereo or even t.v or guitar if you have the right sort of plug.
The dongle/connector does take batteries; 2 AAA that are included. The vibrator itself is completely wireless and rechargeable. Simply plug it in for a couple hours and you're good to go for up to 5 hours, depending on the settings you use. When the Freestyle is plugged in it emits a steady red glow from an LED light, when it's charged the LED changes to green.
The coolest things about this vibe have to be, of course, the rechargeability and wirelessness. But the features on the connector/dongle are what really make it so much more excellent than others I've tried.
The dongle connects to your mp3 player where you would normally connect your headphones. You then plug the headphones in to the dongle. On that dongle/connector there is a dial. Turning the dial not only turns it on but also adjusts the sensitivity of how the vibrator picks up the beat of your music. In essence, YOU get to choose how the vibe works. A slower, lighter picking up of the beat? Somewhere in the middle? A heavy, fast vibration? You can control it all by adjusting the sensitivity dial. This makes it perfectly customizable and far, far superior to most other mp3 vibrators.
The vibrator itself is a bit loud. It's not a jack hammer but it's not quiet. It also has adjustabilty; simply twist the top to either turn it off, to the music setting or to the non music, straight vibration setting. On non music you can use the plus/minus buttons on the end of the vibe to choose between levels of steady vibration or pulsation and escalation patterns.
Multi purpose, see? Even when you don't want to get off to music, this vibe can be a go to toy. It's definitely strong enough no matter how you use it to give you some excellent vibrations.
Clean up is easy - soap and water, toy wipes, toy cleaner, a ten percent bleach solution or an alcohol wipe down are all fine with plastic. Just use caution around the charging port and make sure it's fully dry before you plug it in!

Follow-up commentary

The Freestyle really is an excellent vibrator but, I have to say, it's also really for a niche market.
For me, getting off to music isn't something I do often. It's just not my thing. Those who are highly into music, however, or those who live most of their waking hours with their ipod blasting, are sure to freaking love it. Music, unfortunately, often distracts me. :(
A quality toy, absolutely well made and gorgeous to look at, just not something I pull out very often.

OhMiBod Product Comparison
-
I'm interested in buying one of the OhMiBod vibrators, but I'm not sure which one would suit me best. Does anyone own all three OhMiBod vibrators (Freestyle, NaughtiBod and the original OhMiBod)? Of the three, how do they compare?
Which of the three is more powerful (internal and clitoral application)? Which one more closely matches mp3 beats or are they all the same?
In your opinion, is there a better musically controlled vibrator out there in terms of power or beat accuracy? -

I'm very interested in what others say. -
I'd like to know, too. I always have my ipod around me, so I'm for sure interested if any of these are worth it.
