Insignia Alia - discreet vibrator by LELO - review by Shellz31

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

I’m not one to jump on a product when first introduced to the public. I prefer to sit back and wait to hear what a range of buyers think. I broke all the rules when I saw the sophisticated Insignia Alia who is designed and developed by LELO Sweden. The unique appearance and shiny centre just begs to be touched and admired. She is my first LELO toy and I now understand why everyone raves about this company's products. They truly are high quality and are made to last. This alone gives me peace of mind.

MATERIAL ~ ODOR:

Alia is created with a silicone cover with an ABS plastic centre. Both the silicone cover and ABS plastic are non-porous earning this vibrator a rating of 8. They are also food-grade, hypo-allergenic, phthalates and latex free. Only water based lubrication should be used with silicone toys, otherwise you may find your lube blending with your toy. There was no odor at all to Alia which is a blessing on my sinuses.

COLORING ~ TEXTURE:

I chose the rose which is exactly the color you see in the product picture. In person, the centre is a slight gold tinged silver plastic which is impressive and adds to the luxury look. The silky smooth silicone creates very little drag on your skin so I haven't required lube with Alia.

CONTROLS ~ SHAPE:

Alia has three buttons embedded down one side of the silicone. Each of these buttons requires a firm press to avoid accidental speed or pattern changes in the heat of the moment. Firmly pressing the + will cause all buttons to briefly flash as the toy starts up on the lowest steady vibration. By continuing to press or constantly holding the + will take you through 6 speeds. At anytime, pressing or holding the – will decrease the speed and eventually turn Alia off. The middle button cycles through 5 patterns as follows:

1. Slow prominent pulsing
2. Fast prominent pulsing
3. Subtle pulsing
4. Long drawn out pulses
5. Powerful random pulses (crazy but nice)

The vibrations are prominent at the tip but are felt throughout the toy. A handy feature to have is the lockable option for travel or if there's children who may stumble across your stash. To activate the lock, simply hold down both – and + buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. Either repeating the process or charging your toy with unlock it.

This toy is similar in shape to an egg, with two sides flattened and a hole through the middle. Sometimes I find the hole handy to place fingers through to form a good grip for control. Other times I prefer to cup Alia in my hand. The vibrator measures 3.38” in height, 2.12” in width, 1.25” in depth at the widest point (which is at the top) and weighs 2.4oz.

NOISE ~ POWER:

This toy is so quiet, it's perfect for anyone in a dorm or other shared living situations. It can barely be heard under the bed covers let alone through a closed door. I only wish more toys were this quiet – would certainly make playing more relaxing and carefree.

Alia is a rechargeable toy that requires charging via AV power (not USB) before first time usage can take place. Mine only took 30mins. A full charge normally takes around 2hrs and will deliver up to 4hrs of pleasure. When the vibrator is plugged in, the LEDs pulse letting you know charging is in progress. The LEDs will emit a steady glow to announce a full charge. Rapid flashing LEDs indicate a low battery. With 6 different vibration levels, there's an intensity choice for everyone. I use the 4th level and find that more than powerful enough. Even on the first level, if you place this vibrator on a flat surface, she will very easily (and quickly) make her way across it.
