MiMi - vibrator by Je Joue - review by YouAreMyFetish

(Note: Review of MiMi Gen I.) Wonderful for solo or partner sex, Mimi is an amazing addition to any toy collection, or the perfect start to one. She (yes, she!) can work for those new to sex toys or those very familiar with sex toys alike because of her numerous settings. She starts off with a more gentle rumble and builds to an intense one with some other settings for different patterns of vibrations. Great for clit stimulation or nipple stimulation, or anywhere for an erotic massage, really.

Mimi has a luscious velvety texture that feels amazing against skin, especially against the clit. She is made of silicone, which is the safest material for sex toys because of the hypoallergenic, latex-free, non-porous nature of the material. Mimi has no odd scent and no taste. The only part of her that isn't silicone is the small, plastic piece at the top of the toy where the buttons are located, and this isn't a part of the toy that would be used in sensitive areas, anyway. The only non-smooth part of Mimi is a very small portion in the middle near the top of the toy which says JE JOUE in tiny letters, and has Je Joue's heart logo, which lights up red when Mimi is being used or is charging.

Mimi's design is wonderful. She is egg-shaped, but flatter, and about 2.5-3 inches in length. Because the design narrows toward the end of the toy (like an egg), this allows for slightly more pinpoint vibrations, if that's what you're looking for. Mimi is, after all, one of the best rumble vibrators out there (meaning, the vibrations aren't concentrated in the tip or in one point, but are felt throughout the whole toy). My only complaint about Mimi is that she might be a tad bit too large for partner use. She is perfect for solo use, but I find that if I'm with my partner, it can be a bit difficult to hold on to her just right between our bodies...but this doesn't stop me from using her religiously. It is simply one flaw that I might suggest a change for. Mimi can be used by beginners or advanced users, especially because of the differences in her power settings. Start of slowly if you're a beginner and work your way up. Or you more advanced users can do this, too, because it's just that much fun.

As far as discreetness goes, Mimi is the ultimate in discreet vibrators. If someone isn't familiar with Mimi, he or she probably won't know that she's a vibrator charging on your night stand. As far as noise level, she is fantastic--her lowest setting is barely audible under blankets. She does get louder as she gets turned up, but still most likely inaudible behind closed doors. Great for travel, if you find your own little carrying case. Unfortunately, she didn't come with one.

Mimi's performance is outstanding. The vibrations are rumbly, so they are felt throughout the whole toy. But they can be pinpointed a bit if you place the tip of Mimi where you want her. I love all of her functions, although I usually stick to the typical vibrating ones. There are five of those, followed by five different vibration patterns. The patterns can be fun if you like something other than constant vibration. I love how low she starts out and how powerful she can get--perfect for a long, exciting build-up. The buttons can be a bit difficult to push in the heat of the moment, but at least she won't be accidentally turning off on you when you don't want her to. The buttons require a hard push and you must hold in the + button for two seconds in order to turn her on, and the - button for two seconds to turn her off. There are only two buttons.

The only downfall (and it's not really even a downfall) about Mimi's performance is how strong her vibrations are after prolonged use. I find that if I use her (especially on a higher setting) for a longer period of time, I start to feel a bit numb, and must turn her down or off for about 30 seconds to a minute in order to "cool off." If I do this, though, Mimi is sure to help me finish the job. Of course, this might not be a problem for you, but could be if you can't handle intense vibrations for more than a short while.

Sound is great. The lowest setting is very low (as I said, can barely be heard if it's under blankets) and while she gets louder as she gets turned up, it's still a great toy to use behind closed doors. No one is bound to hear, so if you have roommates, consider Mimi.

Mimi is 100% waterproof (which is wonderful for clean up) and I have used her fully submerged in the bathtub once. I had never used a toy in the bath, so I loved it. The only thing is that when fully submerged, Mimi's vibrations are much louder. I was a bit worried about having her up as high as I wanted in a house full of family, even if I was in the tub and behind a door. Be cautious about sound, but as far as performance, she's great under water.

Mimi is rechargeable and she holds her charge amazingly. I always have her plugged in by my bedside, but I took her on a weeklong vacation recently, had sex every night, and she never needed recharged. I can't say exactly how long she lasts, but I've seen reviews suggesting a few hours of constant charge. Mimi is my first and only rechargeable vibrator, and I can't see myself ever going back to batteries.

Mimi is incredibly easy to care for. Since she's waterproof, rinse her off with warm water and a mild soap or toy cleaner. I don't store Mimi--I keep her next to my bed, but she can be stored in all kinds of nooks and crannies because of her size. Just make sure she isn't stored next to other silicone toys...silicone and silicone don't mix well! And ofcourse, don't use a silicone-based lube--water-based is the best.

I love how Mimi was delivered to me. She came in a purple box with the Je Joue logo and Mimi written on it and inside that was a black hard cardboard box with a black ribbon, which could definitely be used as a gift box. Mimi is stored inside with enough room for her charger. It's a nice box for storage, but not good for travel. It would be way too big and bulky. The biggest downside in the packaging is that a travel case isn't included. There was an instruction book inside which included brief instructions in several different languages. The only thing I would have added to the instructions would be how the charger is used. It magnetically attaches to the buttons (so there is no actual plugging into the toy), but only when the Je Joue logo is facing up. At first, I thought something was wrong because it wasn't attaching to the charger, until I flipped the toy over.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Mimi. She is fantastic for solo use and I love having her for partner use. Whenever I'm ready, my partner reaches over to the night stand and takes Mimi off her charger for me to use. Her slow build up to intense power is amazing and she feels wonderful on the skin. I was so excited to add her to my collection and lucky enough to get her on sale, but knowing what I know now, I would pay full price. I always know that whether I'm by myself or with my partner, an orgasm is right around the corner with Mimi. My partner even refers to her as my personal sex slave. :)
